Endless Evolution: Last Star

Chapter 1540 1540: Azure Rush

The Stone Demons were cowards and basically tried to defeat Adam and Alexia through deception and illusions.

However, the Red Demon looked completely different. It took Adam only a moment to realize that this monster was truly dangerous.

Moreover, the Red Demon had only one horn, and from everything they had seen at the second trial, it was the only thing that could be the necessary item to open the gate.

So, he prepared for battle, a real one, not the beating they had given the weak Stone Demons, who only appeared to be strong.

But...

Alexia had other plans.

”You want to fight him 1 on 1?” Adam asked. Doubt was audible in his voice. He wasnʼt sure he could easily defeat the Red Demon in solo himself, so he didnʼt know if Alexia could handle it.

Alexia nodded deeply.

”Precisely because you asked, I can no longer back down. In fact, Adam, it irritates me that lately Iʼve been playing second fiddle in our team. Itʼs time to remind you that Iʼm not weaker than you!”

Deep down, Adam didnʼt want to agree. He truly believed that the Red Demon was strong enough to seriously injure Alexia. If that happened, then it would be much more difficult for them to fulfill their conditions for the Third Grand Star.

However, there was only one way he could proceed.

Step. Step. Step.

Adam took a few steps back and leaned his back against the pillar with a relaxed expression. He crossed his arms over his chest and smirked.

”Alright, I heard you. Now you have no choice but to beat the crap out of him, or Iʼll tease you for the rest of your life! Hahaha!”

”Pffft!” Alexia snorted as she rolled her eyes. ”Thatʼs not what I wanted to hear from my ally, but I didnʼt expect anything else from you, to be honest.”

Either way, the time for jokes was over when the Red Demon stepped forward. His large frame moved through the dark hall, and only a brief glint reflected in the mirrors.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The crimson energy waves flowed into his arm, filling his fist with enough power to send the ice worm flying with a single hit.

”Ghahahah!” The Red Demon chuckled darkly, sensing his victory.

What could the small girl before him do? She couldnʼt even control her own power that froze her hands and feet!

Perhaps that was what the Red Demon was thinking before he threw his punch.

Whoooooooosh.

The giant fist slammed into the ground, shaking the mirror hall. Cracks ran across the surface, and the floor shattered into platforms that were thrown aside by the shockwave.

But...

”AH?”

The Red Demon blinked as he realized Alexia was not under his fist. Moreover, he couldnʼt see her at all, having completely lost her from view.

Soon, the Red Demon lowered his gaze, feeling the cold coming from below.

Only then did he see Alexia, who had placed her palm on his chest.

”Perhaps I was wrong, and you turned out to be just as much of a liar as the other demons...” She whispered, cold steam rushing over her shoulders.

The Red Demon tried to move out of range, but it was too late as Alexia sprang into action.

The raging blue beast turned into a single wave of energy that ran like primal frost along her arm, bursting from her palm in a single point.

A flash swept before her eyes, and soon everything was replaced by ice and cold. In this area, she was the only queen.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

The ice ray, which resembled a laser bursting from a frosty star, pierced the Red Demonʼs chest and burst out in a powerful current.

The arches and pillars were covered with a thick layer of ice, like everything else around them, before the pressure became too strong and they all collapsed, becoming nothing more than icy ruins.

Adamʼs eyes widened as he had to cover himself with his hands from the wave of frost and snow rushing towards him from just one of Alexiaʼs attacks.

Only after a few seconds did Adam open his eyes and look at what had happened.

The entire mirror hall was covered with a thick layer of ice, crystals hung from the ceiling, and the space in front of Alexia was completely destroyed, becoming snow-covered debris.

Alexia, who was hovering above the ground, slowly turned over her shoulder as their eyes met.

Her eyes were calm and deep like ancient ice, reflecting the power she had just demonstrated.

The great frame towering above her collapsed to the ground with a wide hole in its chest.

Rumble!

With a crash, the Red Demon met his end. His eyes were also wide open, filled with panic, as in the moment of Alexiaʼs attack.

It was all over when her frost engulfed him, turning him into a massive ice statue.

There was no need for the gruesome wound, as the Red Demon had died before it. It was nothing more than a pure display of Alexiaʼs power, that she was capable of defeating even a dozen such monsters if necessary.

”Haaa...”

Alexia exhaled cold air as she closed her eyes.

Her aura weakened, quickly returning to normal as she stopped floating in the air.

”Alexia!”

Without hesitation, Adam lunged forward as he caught her before she could fall.

”I... Iʼm fine... No need to yell like that,” she grumbled.

Still, she couldnʼt hide the satisfied smirk on her face. She was too proud of her attack not to show it.

”Did you see that? Thatʼs only a fraction of what Iʼm capable of!” Alexia said vigorously, even though she couldnʼt even stand on her feet right now.

This only brought a bitter smile to Adamʼs face.

”Huh, sure, that was only 1% of your true power, wasnʼt it?”

”Well,” she crossed her arms on her chest. ”You know Iʼm modest. Maybe 2%, no, only 1.5%! Yes, thatʼs more like it!”

Adam laughed as he looked at the Red Demon, or rather at its pulsating horn.

ʼSo the second trial is finally over. Tsk, this Ancient Voice is nothing but trouble, but we must move on.ʼ
