Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3131 Trying To Tame

”You canʼt do this…”

Sophie caught his wrist, holding it with both her hands as she looked at him with pleading eyes.

As a flame cultivator, it went without saying that she could comprehend the significance of the apocalyptic flames.

She didnʼt even flinch when he yelled that it was karmically deadly as this was a realm-devouring flame. She heard from Myria that it consumed everything in its path, leaving behind nothing, not even its history. Everything connected to it would be cleansed like purified by heavenly flames.

Even this ashen dust from the Molten Goldcrust Core would not be left if the apocalyptic flames engulfed them completely. Thatʼs how ridiculously pervasive, unbridled, and destructive these flames were.

The heavenly flames were at least around his level in prowess when he faced his heavenly tribulations, but these apocalyptic flames, she mused that they were above High-Level Emperor Grade in prowess, perhaps even higher in the distance where a sea of apocalyptic flames was even overpowering the sea of magma, burning it one by one.

It was only because these five wisps were stranded but still burning relentlessly they were somewhat unaffected by it as long as they didnʼt near it too much.

Sophie had also personally experienced being burned by apocalyptic flames, even though it was just for a minute moment. Her assessment was that even he wouldnʼt be able to refine it. She was torn between believing him completely and stopping him because she also believed this was a foolʼs action.

”Thatʼs right. Even if you can somehow take them, where would you store them?”

Bylai asked.

”Thatʼs why Iʼm thinking…”

Davis shrugged.

He still hadnʼt decided yet if he was going to take the whole thing, but he knew time was indeed running out.

Why?

Because he had met with apocalyptic flames while coming down and sensed a deadly karmic nature from them as he felt a latent sensation of danger, which is why he also warned Sophie, besides, there was not much time to remain either, as he felt like this underground area could collapse at any moment with magma and apocalyptic flames sealing their fates.

Although he didnʼt feel much danger standing here, imagining that he would likely survive, it might not be the same for his women.

Therefore, he decided to try one or two methods before leaving this place, regardless of success or failure.

He took a step forward and floated across the edge, experiencing the searing heat of the sea of magma for himself once again. It didnʼt seem to have any effect on him as he was clad in his soul force, which effectively did away the heat from him.

But, his soul force wasnʼt endless either, as there were little ways for him to recover his energy, so he used it in a minimal way, not overbearing or reckless.

As soon as he stepped foot on the burning Molten Goldcrust Core, he bent and waved his hand, collecting the ashen dust without regard for the purplish-black apocalyptic wisp.

Seeing this scene, Sophie gawked.

While she had to wait for the timing as she focused on the swaying of the flames, the pattern it shook in with the searing air blowing around, he didnʼt even seem to care for it. She could only see him moving around and collecting the dust in copious amounts like he was cleaning.

*Szzz~*

Suddenly, his sleeves lit up in apocalyptic flames, causing Sophie and Bylai to turn shocked.

This was his real body, so to catch these apocalyptic flames was truly deadly. However, their jaws dropped as they saw iridescent black-white energy shroud the sleeves and rip apart the burning cloth, causing it to fall down and continue to burn.

More ashen dust fell from the Molten Goldcrust Core, making the rocky black-golden surface glitter.

However, he remained calm as ever, now holding the piece of cloth between his palms as the wind kept it afloat.

Reincarnation energy swirled, amalgamating between his palms as they tried to suppress and tame the tiny wisp of apocalyptic flame burning the ripped part of his sleeve. However, the piece of cloth was quickly incinerated, leaving behind the tiny wisp of apocalyptic flames that plunged.

However, he still made it float. His brows were squinted, and his sapphire eyes remained focused, his hands moving to create a sphere as he solely made the wisp dance between his hands through pure force without using any energy whatsoever.

Simultaneously, the apocalyptic flame wisp was subjected to his reincarnation energy.

It seeped and churned inside the apocalyptic flame itself, but it was also being rapidly extinguished, causing Davis to use more soul force than ever. He inwardly gawked, coming to understand that he would never be able to tame these mere five wisps of apocalyptic flames without spending days on them.

”…”

Davis felt that it couldnʼt be helped. He didnʼt feel disheartened either as he truly found that his reincarnation energy was effective against these apocalyptic flames, perhaps because his reincarnation energy could cleanse karmic curses, which also makes it effective against karmic attacks.

Perhaps this was why he felt little danger in front of this apocalyptic flame, as it probably lacked the ability to quickly extinguish his soul. Nonetheless, he didnʼt want to try playing with this kind of fire, so with his hands moving like a snake forming a sphere, he threw it towards the five wisps and got rid of it as though he had given up.

Sophie and Bylai blinked innocently.

Could it be that he failed…?

This question revolved in their minds, becoming a bit emotional as they knew this might provoke him into doing more dangerous things. They didnʼt know how to console him, as that might backfire. But quickly, their brows twitched as they saw him continue to newly formed ashen dust.

He made a few more rounds, collecting a hefty amount of ashen dust.

The Molten Goldcrust Core was almost going to be fully turned into ashes with the only final few layers left in it, after which it was plain rock that wouldnʼt be able to withstand these apocalyptic flames, causing it to melt into the sea of magma.

”Turn around and look away. Seal your senses but remain wary of your surroundings and standby for further instructions.”

At this moment, Davisʼs solemn voice echoed, causing Sophie and Bylaiʼs hearts to shake.

They didnʼt want to look away, but they knew what he was going to do was probably one of his trump cards or even his last resort. Therefore, they willed their hearts and turned around, looking away as they kept their pounding hearts in check.

Davis turned to look at them, confirming that they really turned to look away.

Inwardly nodding his head, he reached out his hands, appearing like he was the supreme ruler of the world as iridescent black-white energy burst forth. However, its aura was completely different than before, almost appearing capable of utter destruction rather than mysterious.

It spread like clouds, enveloping the five apocalyptic flame wisps in its entirety.

*Szzzz!~*

These flames swayed heavily as they reacted furiously, causing shockwaves to burst forth that even pushed Davis back behind a few meters. He was hovering above the sea of magma, but it didnʼt seem to affect him one bit as he still looked calm and had his hands reached out as though he was fully in control of taming the apocalyptic flames.

”…!”

Sophie and Bylai were thoroughly shook. Although they couldnʼt see what was happening, they could somehow imagine their husband prevailing.

After all, even if they sealed their senses, their physical bodies still experienced the dramatic change in the heaven and earth around him, not to mention the shockwave that made its way outward while brushing past them.

They didnʼt know how to describe this feeling other than excitement as they could sense his prowess had reached the level of Late Stage Immortal Emperor, perhaps even rising to the peak!
