Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3082 Good Karma?

”…”

Davis didnʼt know what to say to her when she said it like that.

As a woman, he knew Nyoran mustʼve faced many challenges ahead in her cultivation path, so he didnʼt want to ask her the details as it might be insensitive on his part, but he still couldnʼt help but ask.

”This Queen Nadija… you say? How trustable is she to you?”

”I would say that I trust her very much.”

Davis nodded, ”Havenʼt you considered that you arenʼt being used?”

Nyoran smiled behind her veil, ”Even if I am, I suppose I would continue to work under her since I repay what I have been bestowed.”

”You-”

”Iʼm grateful that youʼre worried for me, but Queen Nadija has taken care of me well. Because of her, I was able to hold my head high and fly through the cities without being bullied much. The competition is extreme, after all, so I have little to complain about than waving my hand and destroying my opponents.”

”Haha. Well said.”

”I guess thatʼs what makes you as a person, Nyoran. Even after Iʼm dead, you delivered what you promised me, after all.”

Nyoran blushed slightly, ”Well, you did come back alive and influenced my life, so good karma does exist. Donʼt you think?”

”…”

While they were both smiling, Davisʼs smile left his face.

Was it good karma?

He didnʼt know.

Without him, even if she mutated and became a variant, would she have become a Divergent?

He felt that it was unlikely, making him feel guilty for flipping her life upside down. Fallen Heavenʼs force was like a black hole bending space-time. It really screwed with everyoneʼs fate in various ways.

However, she seems to be handling her ups and downs well, giving him some peace.

”Whatʼs wrong?”

”Nothing. Iʼm just glad youʼre doing well.”

Davis gestured with a thumbs up, ”If you need anything, donʼt hesitate to ask. However, handle your fellow crows well. One of them seems like the type to backstab you at the moment things go bad.”

”Ah~ That…” Nyoran waved her hand, ”… he was acting when he knelt. He was actually trying to get into their good graces so he could backstab them later.”

”Oh…”

Davis lightly chuckled. Sure enough. Those who made it to this place were not simple.

”But it doesnʼt mean that he wouldnʼt backstab you either.”

”Thatʼs a given. I can only trust you.”

”Alright, alright.” Davis waved her away, ”Go on. Weʼll have some fun hunting for treasures in the morning.”

”I canʼt wait. I wish you good luck in your cultivation.”

Nyoran cupped her her hands before turning around to leave.

Davis saw her back.

He also wanted to test if karmic attacks work on her but didnʼt want to harm her as he didnʼt have full control over it, so he voted against it. However, he mused even if he couldnʼt use karmic attacks on her while she was phasing, he believed Fallen Heaven could.

It was a blind belief based on its capabilities he had seen and experienced so far.

ʼBut… to think dimensions exist… although itʼs just a speculation on my part, my instincts tell me theyʼre real…ʼ

Davisʼs gaze was solemn.

Watching her leave before she disappeared like a ghost, he slapped his cheeks a few times before willing himself to focus.

He sat on the grass bed again and crossed his legs, meditating for a few moments before finally entering a serene state.

Circulating his energies once, twice, and thrice, he figured it was going smoothly before starting to refine soul essences.

=======

”Big sister, how is it? Can you still not connect with his eyes?”

”Itʼs been a day. Please check again.”

”Please do~”

In a hall, many women sat together. In between them all was a purple-robed woman with a slightly swollen belly. The purple-robed woman would occasionally place her hand on her stomach and rub it with gentleness. Regardless, they all gathered closer to her as they asked.

They were none other than Davisʼs women: Evelynn and the others.

Evelynn pursed her lips, not knowing how many times has she been asked this question. They mightʼve all gathered now, but before, one of them visited every twenty minutes to ask about Davisʼs situation, leaving her stumped.

However, their emotions were all the same, so she could understand their worries.

She smiled, closing her eyes for a few seconds before she shook her head.

”I still canʼt see with his vision, but I can feel heʼs safe and sound. The life tablets of the others are also safe, so no harm has befallen them.”

”I see.”

Isabella lightly nodded. The others also nodded, but their expressions didnʼt improve.

They had heard this answer so many times already that they were getting more worried after hearing it. After all, what kind of secret realm was it able to shut down their connection?

Their soul connection was basically a hex pact, which was also something relaying back from Davis due to his consent, but the secret realm actually managed to block a connection at the Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade, causing them to be astonished.

”Donʼt worry, little sisters. No matter the place he is, he would always reign supreme.”

”Sure enough.”

Evelynn advised, causing Shirley to giggle. She stood up, moving her crimson lips, ”Mistress Zahara and Mistress Yeyin have successfully returned, so Iʼll take them now to fulfill my end of the promise. Let me know if there are any changes in the situation.”

”Sure.”

”Great!”

Evelynn nodded with a light smile while Shirley left.

The others also left, but a few remained, like Niera with Sophieʼs baby in her arms. They played with Aurelia, soothing their hearts in the process as they saw Davisʼs sapphire eyes in her.

Aurelia kept them entertained with her random baby antics of acting cute while holding their hands or chin.

Soon enough, Clara appeared, asking about the situation before receiving the same answer.

”Clara, I think Iʼm very close to sealing the influence in your mind as I derived some ideas, but with husband here, I really didnʼt want to try a viable method on you as it would cause you immense pain. But with him having left, I think I can also prepare myself. What do you think?”

”…”

Claraʼs gaze flickered, ”Whatever it may be, please try it on me. I canʼt bear to hurt any one of you next time.”

She pursed her lips and glanced at Aurelia, her brotherʼs third baby.

”If it happened again, I-”

”Ah, it wonʼt happen again.” Evelynn shook her hands, ”Please believe me. I may have the method to clear your headache finished in two to three months or less. My Solitary Soul Avatar is working hard on researching day and night.”

”Iʼm indebted.”

Clara cupped her hands when it was suddenly grabbed away.

”Donʼt. Youʼre one of us.”

Evelynn shook her head and stood up, grasping Claraʼs hands.

”…”

It made Clara feel moved but also guilty for what she had done before. Just as she was about to ask where Ellia was, she saw Evelynn take out a messaging talisman. It glowed, appearing to have a pending message.

”Hex Demoness, itʼs the Obsidian Crystal Turtle Clanʼs third division making contact. We located an individual who looks very similar to the Emperor of Death near the Ascendance Monuments. We suspect that he might be- ”

”Bring him here!” Evelynnʼs pupils dilated, ”And do so secretively! No matter what, you cannot allow harm to befall him or treat him with disrespect. Otherwise, you cannot handle the Emperor of Deathʼs wrath!”

”Understood!”

There was a voice of affirmation from the other side before the messaging talisman lost its glow.

”Itʼs father-in-law! Heʼs here!”

”Imperial father!” Clara cried out, her eyes wide in shock.

”What!? Drake said that father-in-law would be ascending in a year. Itʼs not even three months…”

Isabella stood up, appearing solemn as she felt something amiss.

”Iʼll go out.” She voiced out, walking out with grand strides.

”Wait. If we make any movements, weʼll be noticed.”

”I wonʼt go outside the Domain.”

Isabella didnʼt protest, causing Evelynn to not know what to say as she felt saving their father-in-law was also important.

”Iʼm also coming!”

”No, you stay here!”

Clara spoke when the both of them shut her down, causing her to be stumped.

In the end, Evelynn could only watch Isabella leave the mansion before she took out a messaging talisman, trying to contact someone.
