Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3065 Hesitance?

”…”

Cyclonis Blizzara attended to her previous sectʼs disciples, tending to their wounds. As she did so, she glanced around and saw that everyone was watching her, or rather, the two survivors of the Ice Phoenix Clan who were half naked with their dresses torn, revealing a few of their assets.

They still looked sensual despite having blood all over their bodies, but perhaps thatʼs what made them strangely attractive.

”Some privacy please…”

”…”

Davis turned around, gesturing for everyone to move away while they let Cyclonis Blizzara work on treating them. He also invited Nyoran along with them as he went away.

It wasnʼt long before Cyclonis Blizzara managed to seal their wounds with healing paste and patched them up with bandages, but her expression wasnʼt good as she saw that darkness energy was still corroding their bodies.

Those Ghostly Crows were too strong, even for her. She was unable to remove the remnant energy from their wounds, and neither could her pills.

”Really…?”

A wry expression appeared behind her veil.

She, Cyclonis Blizzara, who had been the Matriarch of the Ice Phoenix Clan, never felt so useless as now. She could match almost none of the heavenly geniuses present here, making her laugh as to why she even decided to participate in this secret realm.

She felt even the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs elders didnʼt see this coming as they selected someone like her, a powerless participant.

Logic said that their First Haven World simply didnʼt compare to the heavenly geniuses of the true immortal world, but she shook her head, knowing that her prowess as a pure-blooded Ice Phoenix could only go so far.

She wasnʼt a variant, nor a King-Tier Immortal Beast.

For an immortal beast that is not King-Tier or Emperor-Tier or even a Variant, five levels higher was already extremely good, enough to be considered a leader, and six levels were practically heaven-defying. She didnʼt know how she could raise her prowess beyond that unless she made an effort to turn into a King-Tier or Emperor-Tier Immortal Beast.

Even a Variant wouldnʼt be able to reach an Emperor-Tier Immortal Beastʼs prowess as they were a culmination of their racial hope.

Armed with this kind of knowledge, she knew she would only be a burden from here on out if she didnʼt improve herself, but how? Forget about improving. It seemed like if she couldnʼt find the means to stay alive by at least managing to heal the wounds, even the shockwaves of the battle filled with berserk aura might kill her.

”Ughh~”𝑵𝔬𝐯𝔢𝐋𝐮𝓈𝒷.𝗰𝚘𝓂

Just as she was in a moment of contemplation, thinking about a certain person as her cheeks turned red from shame, she heard a painful groan in front of her, looking at an icy-blue white-robed woman struggling to wake up.

”Arizue, how are you feeling?”

Cyclonis Blizzara supported her as she asked, causing the disciple to turn shocked as she saw the person before her. She was saved…?

”Matriarch…”

She became so emotional that she shed tears of joy and relief, but looking at the Matriarch shake her head and gesture, she saw a purple-robed man stand before a group of people as he seemed to be the center, the leader.

Naturally, she recognized this infamous man, his title causing many to be unable to sleep as they fear his growth potential.

”Emperor of Death…”

Davis turned to look at Arizue and lightly smiled before returning his gaze to his people.

”Indeed. Thatʼs why I said it is of utmost importance to us to raise our overall strengths. Other than me, Lea, Myria, and Nadia can handle these so-called Heavenly Monarchs, and even that fey called Kingly Monarch whose prowess reaches eight levels, but as for the others, you would even find it hard to keep up with us, much less defend against them. If they besiege us, then none of us would live to see the next day.”

He explained, causing most of them to nod their heads. There were the people from the Ghostly Crow Clan and the other factions who possessed untold powers fueled by unbelievable prowess. They could defend against brute force but what about unseen attacks?

But even brute force attacks would prove fatal if they couldnʼt defend against them well. Hence, increasing their overall prowess should shed some burden on their main protector or even allow them to overpower their enemies as they attack from different directions.

”I disagree.”

However, Fairy Thunderblaze opened her mouth, ”We shouldnʼt waste our time for weaklings.”

”I agree.”

Surprisingly, Davis nodded, causing her to blink amusedly.

”However, it is imperative that Sophie, Tina, Dalila, and Bylai raise their strengths, or weʼre pretty much screwed since we wouldnʼt be able to do anything about the legendary realm concoction. Or are you saying that you can do it? Do you even know alchemy? Or perhaps, forging?”

”…”

Fairy Thunderblaze blinked, her eyelids fluttering gently, ”You can mock me all you want, but that doesnʼt change the fact that theyʼre a burden.”

”A burden I love to carry? Woah, give me more~”

Davis pumped his fists, appearing revved up, which caused Sophie and the others to chuckle as they knew he was intent on snubbing her words even though it was the truth. They were moved, knowing that they could endanger the lives of others, even their own Davis, as he would be forced to make some sacrifices for them if they were caught.

”I said what I have to say. The rest is your wish, as youʼre the leader of this group.”

Fairy Thunderblaze closed her eyes, appearing undisturbed. However, what made Davis disturbed was that she seemed impregnable.

Did this woman forget the enmity they had between them, or was she acting like it didnʼt exist?

However, he had to admit that her words couldnʼt be any far from the truth.

This wasnʼt just an adventure for hunting treasures. It was a race against time as all the powers from the Minor Realms, Lower Realms, and Upper Realms possessed copies of varying lists with locations of different treasures, and only through slaughtering or bartering could they find the treasures they wanted.

Otherwise, they could only suck their fingers and watch others grow stronger.

That would also be fine, but the end result would be that they could be hunted down and burned at the stake or made to endure horrible things, which Davis definitely didnʼt want to let it happen.

However, he took a momentary look around, catching a glimpse of Cyclonis Blizzara, Xerna Zenflame,  Niel Bladeheart, Garoe Rynn, Zora Luan, Vereina and even the newcomerʼs faces, deeply understanding that if he wasnʼt there for these people, they would undoubtedly meet with their deaths sooner than he could reach the central plains.

ʼRidiculous…ʼ

Davis knew the odds were hugely stacked against him. If he knew what type of place this was, he wouldʼve come alone, but unfortunately, this secret realm turned out to be a pathway to the immortal world, something that was his own doing and undoing.

As Fairy Thunderblaze stated, he couldnʼt and shouldnʼt be taking care of anyone if he wanted to survive. The stakes were too high for an Anarchic Divergent to be capable of surviving here. But this also led him to believe that since they were here, then they must be fated with some treasures, causing him to look into the dense verdant forest.

Davis could sense a Ghostly Crow Fey hidden behind a tree, waiting for the opportune moment to strike them. Obviously, he could tell that it was from the five who escaped.

However, he knew they would come again as he lifted an arm and waved in their direction.

It was none other than Meiliʼs arm.
