Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3077 Practicing The Scythe

Davis agreed with Myria.

Since he was the one who led the group, then it was his luck that found this treasure. With that being the case, Davisʼs lips curled.

”What can I say? My luck is truly… profound.”

Davis smiled widely, knowing that even if his luck was good now, it would eventually turn the opposite soon enough. He didnʼt have any certainty over his thoughts, but his experience indeed said that it was the case.𝔫𝒪𝑣𝑬𝓛𝗎𝓈𝕓.𝕔𝓞𝑚

”This is good.” Myria sent a soul transmission again, ”I lacked this heavenly resource back then, along with a few other sub-ingredients, so I wasnʼt able to make any progress in my endeavor, leading to my demise as I was unable to overcome the adversities but this time… I… Iʼm sure I can burst past them.”

Her voice sounded delighted, but at the end, she stuttered before she turned around and left.

Davis watched her return to Bing Luli.

ʼJust now… did she try to say that she has me…?ʼ

He almost let out a wide smile again but turned to look around, noticing that it was soon going to be sunset.

ʼTch… as expected. Itʼs taking too long to traverse with so many Feral Beasts in between.ʼ

Even before coming here, Davis and the others had to subdue thousands of Immortal King Feral Beasts. These creatures would ruin a numbered city in the blink of an eye when they appear in a horde back in the First Haven World, but to them, they were nothing short of a nuisance right now.

As soon as half of the horde was cleared, they would run away with their tails between their legs.

Some would even come with reinforcements.

Naturally, they didnʼt release their oppressive undulations as they didnʼt want to be targeted by Mid-Stage Immortal Emperor Feral Beasts or the heavenly geniuses who have appeared here, so they remained low-key in their travels.

ʼNext treasure on the way is…ʼ

Davis took out the treasure list and confirmed where to head to again.

If his luck was good right now, then he felt like he had to make use of it. Besides, he wasnʼt that worried about the Starlight Jade Wolf King, Golden Crow Clan, and Obsidian Crystal Turtleʼs disciples because he could see that they had all managed to gather when, initially, most of them were in different directions.

By this time, he mused that the young cultivators who got separated by the teleportation formation had either regrouped, hidden, or ended up dead.

As for going back, some may consider, but he was not as he deemed this world bountiful. There was no way he wasnʼt going to return without a massive harvest!

Nonetheless, Davis led his group towards his destination in a straight line, crossing mountains and rivers, even if he had to put through holes in mountains. He drilled his way to the destination instead of taking detours, which may take him hours due to the infestation.

There were too many bugs. Of course, they were also Feral Beasts, each and one of them big and having nasty attacks in their arsenals as most of them were poisonous.

He quickly dispatched them on sight with a swing of Yama.

He didnʼt even need to control it as Yama could move on its own as long he supplied enough energy. However, because he had to be careful with energy here, as he could not absorb from heaven and earth, he didnʼt use Yama in that way. Only occasionally did he throw the scythe, letting it unleash a whirlwind of destruction on a horde.

For a single target, he moved closer and sliced them apart.

Naturally, he wasnʼt the only one attacking as the others also chipped in to help take care of these small fries.

However, he wasnʼt willing to accept their help, not because he felt like he had to do all the work but because he was focusing on training his scythe skills. He collected some scythe arts with Master Deathseekerʼs help, so he finally had some space and opponents to perfect his skills.

However, he was also intent on producing his own scythe arts.

A scythe wasnʼt like a sword or a spear. It was not a traditional weapon and is rarely used, causing not many arts to be derived from its usage as many tend to abandon it due to the sheer difficulty in mastering it.

It was difficult to gain proficiency in it due to the way it was shaped. Although it had a wider range than swords and could slice sharper than spears, it demanded more physical strength, agility, and endurance in order to be able to master it. The weight and length of the weapon also required considerable muscle power to swing, and extensive training remained necessary to build the required energy to unleash a flurry of attacks with it.

The scytheʼs design lends itself to specific types of strikes and maneuvers. Learning to adapt its usage in various combat scenarios requires advanced understanding and creativity, which Davis believed he had as he was of the belief of creating his own way of using the scythe as though he was going freestyle but had certain patterns and maneuvers unique to him.

Therefore, he was of the belief that he was near to mastering his own style sooner or later.

Noticing Davis practicing his scythe skills, the others naturally didnʼt interfere, whether it was admiration or due to fear. But nobody complained and followed him eagerly because he let them have a portion of the loot due to his selfish request.

Right now, they were floating through a narrow tunnel.

The narrow tunnel stretched far into the darkness, its walls damp and glistening with moisture. A faint, dim light illuminated the pathway, barely enough to reveal the rough, uneven surface of the wet walls. The air was thick with a musty, earthy scent, and the occasional drip of water echoed through the confined space, creating an eerie symphony of sound.

It was as though the walls around them would crumble, and a huge mouth would swallow them whole.

However, they came across a dead end.

”Heh~”

Davis snorted and punched through the dead end, creating his own path as he led them further.

”…”

Niel Bladeheart bent down and picked up the small piece of rock that fell before him, his eyes twitching as he noticed its durability was at the Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade. He felt that his current sword wouldnʼt be able to cut through this, much less make a dent.

Garoe Rynn also sighed.

They had no choice but to watch Davis make obstacles appear like they were paper-thin before he finally led them outside.

A bright light shined on them.

But instead of the sunlight, it was moonlight.

ʼThe Lunar Reverence…ʼ

Davis admired the beauty of the moon, wondering if it was a spirit.

ʼIf it was, could it be a woman as some folktales speak about…?ʼ

Davis had his thoughts before he turned to look down, looking at a group of stunned youngsters drop their jaws.

”Emperor of Death!”

”Phew… theyʼre unharmed…”

Davis sighed in a low voice, thinking that they had good luck before jumping down a cliff and descending towards his allies from the Central Primesky Alliance. The others also couldnʼt help but smile, perhaps because they were similar people from the First Haven World.

In this foreign land, it was good to see someone who they could relate to.
