Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2438 Reaching The Aurora Cloud Gate

”Mphm~ Mua~”

Lips-smacking, alluring kissing sounds kept echoing in the air as Davis and Ellia shared their first kiss in a heated passion. Just as Davis was about to use his tongue to invade her heart and soul, an annoyed cry echoed.

”Ah~ You two are shameless. Why does everyone treat me like Iʼm a good place to share a kiss? Iʼll kick you two! Hmph~”

Abruptly, Stella Voidfieldʼs figure appeared out of nowhere to their side as she angrily pointed at them.

Ellia flinched as she hurriedly turned away, using her veil to hide her face. Meanwhile, Davis was still in the posture to kiss, his lips not finding anything yet still kissing the empty air.

”You...!” Stella Voidfield clenched her small teeth. Why was he not stopping?

Davis still kissed the empty air, but then he suddenly turned towards Stella Voidfield, his hands reaching out to her.

”Ah~”

”Heh, a little lass dares to come out when adults are making love? Go back to your tree trunk.”

She screamed and disappeared back into the life ring, causing Davis to nod satisfactorily as he shamelessly uttered. It was practically his first kiss with Ellia, and yet, this pipsqueak dared to interrupt him. With him teaching her a lesson, he was able to vent some anger.

Meanwhile, Ellia lifted the strand of hair hanging on the fringe using her index finger, looking quite shy. She had totally forgotten about Stella Voidfield as her mind and heart were full of him at that moment. Abruptly, her heart clenched as she felt him wrap his arms around her from behind, causing her to feel warmth and affection.

She couldnʼt help but smile as he grasped his wrist and lay her head on his shoulder, looking at his face from the side.

However, Davisʼs expression was complex.

”Ellia, Iʼm sorry. I donʼt want to be rude, but the truth is, I canʼt take you yet. At least, not before I fulfill some of my promises. Iʼm too bad to my women, wanting them to be treated right yet not having time to not even marry due to- ”

”I know.” Unexpectedly, Ellia smiled as she interrupted him, ”Youʼre all planning to have immortal children, right? I plan to do so too, so count me in.”

She giggled sweetly in his arms, causing Davis to hold her more dearly.

Ellia looked into his eyes. The disguise couldnʼt conceal the confidence gleaming in his eyes, causing her to be at ease.

Davis wished that he had held her like this back then, treating her the way she deserved for her unchanging loyalty towards him. She had grown, but the way she looked at him didnʼt undergo a change. It was a pity that he wasnʼt experienced and failed to realize her bittersweet emotions towards him.

”Iʼm perfectly fine with being your last bride when you take me. Elder sister has also given me her permission, telling me to live my life as I please. I guess she has finally approved of you as she knows that I will go to you. But right now, I also want to keep up with you and elder sister, so Iʼll do everything in my power to rise up in cultivation.”

Ellia revealed her plans, causing Davis to be moved beyond compare that he wanted to take her right now. His body was also rearing to go, not having had dual cultivation for quite some time while also having crossed a life and death situation.

It wouldnʼt be a far cry to say that he wanted to lovingly impregnate Ellia at this moment, but he forcefully held back all those emotions as he released a sigh.

”I understand. Donʼt worry. Even if you got a master, Iʼd help your prowess rise to the best of my ability. Now, how should we go about joining the Aurora Cloud Gate? I already have a recruitment badge with me and I thought of using the alias Feng Chu to register myself as a disciple, so...”

”That isnʼt a problem. Anyone can hide their identity if they want to in the Aurora Cloud Gate as long as they make their origin clear to one of the seven Legacy Artifacts of the Aurora Cloud Gate. The Legacy Artifactʼs spirit in charge of law enforcement is righteous and impartial.”

”It wouldnʼt leak anyoneʼs identity unless the elders came together to make a petition or request by the Gate Master or Guardians as long as they have a valid reason. Besides, the Law Enforcement Guardian is Saintess Lunaria, and she is practically in possession of that Legacy Artifact rather than the Law Enforcement Grand Elder who currently has it.”

”Master already knows you, so thereʼs no use trying to hide it.”

”...” Davis could only remain speechless as Ellia continued.

”But since you already have a recruitment badge, go ahead and register yourself under the name you wish to. Just make your origin and true name clear, and everything else is fine.”

Davis smiled wryly. In front of absolute power, all disguises and schemes do end up crumbling like porcelain that was bashed by a hammer.

”However, there is one thing you should know about the Aurora Cloud Gate. Divergents donʼt get special treatment here, and neither does strength; not in terms of resources but support. If justice is not on your side and you go to create trouble, then thatʼs on your head. No one will help you. Of course, people might move for you on personal gains or worries but it just amounts to personal discretion at best.”

”Thatʼs only a given...” Davis nodded.

How could the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs disciples expect their power to help them when theyʼre the ones in the wrong? Even if everything went wrong in the Aurora Cloud Gate, as long as that legendary individual Saintess Lunaria was there, he couldnʼt see this power rotting.

If it had rotted, perhaps Saintess Lunaria wouldʼve already left the Aurora Cloud Gate. However, although Saintess Lunariaʼs achievements suggested one thing, he couldnʼt help but be suspicious about something else that may or may not have some connection with the Aurora Cloud Gate.

”Did you see Flamerose and Frostrose?”

Ellia raised her brows, remembering those two phoenixes who were taken away. She shook her head, indicating that she hadnʼt seen them.

”Davis, what happened to them is...”

”No, I just saw Flamerose and talked with her.”

”...!” Elliaʼs eyes widened. She stopped leaning on him and stood straight, turning to look at him with incomparable seriousness.

”Since she is alive, the other sister couldʼve been sacrificed...”

”No, I think Flamerose had her memories altered. She now goes by the name...” Davis explained, causing Ellia to shake her head.

”This is too eerie. I didnʼt think they would be allowed to live, much less live an unbound life with altered memories. I think this has something to do with lessening their karmic burden as much as possible, even if it is little.”

”I think so too. There should be some purpose to alter someoneʼs memories, and I couldnʼt think of anything else than other decreasing their karmic burden.”

Both of them nodded, having come to a similar conclusion. Having said that, Davisʼs brows couldnʼt help but narrow at Ellia.

”So your memories are not altered in some way?”

”Of course not.” Ellia couldnʼt help but giggle, finally understanding what worried Davis.

”Itʼs impossible to confuse Myria and me at the same time. Even if one were to alter our memories, our souls that were mostly dependent on each other would quickly differentiate what is wrong.”

”After separation, we didnʼt even go close to the higher-ups of the Aurora Cloud Gate and directly had our immortal tribulations before we returned to stabilizing our cultivations, so there is little to no chance that they couldʼve brainwashed us, and if they did do it and we somehow fell into their trap, why not bother to erase our memory of you? Our beauty alone attracts calamities, after all.”

”...” Davis was again speechless as she had a point. His suspicion over the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs conduct was still unwarranted.

Nonetheless, the last bit of reservation he had to the Aurora Cloud Gate came crashing down.

ʼSince it is a power that low-key hosts Divergents, letʼs see how good it is...ʼ

Davis decided and grabbed Elliaʼs hand, ”Letʼs go.”

”Mhm~” She nodded softly, traveling with him in the skies as they flew off into the distance, heading toward the Aurora Cloud Gate.

Her frail and tender fingers held onto him, reliving her nostalgia. The lingering taste on her lips still made her feel giddy while the feeling of happiness was at large, causing an eternal smile to be stuck to her face. Her heart felt fulfilled.

”Oh?”

Abruptly, Davis sounded, causing Ellia to come out of her reverie and see that they were finally at one of the Aurora Cloud Gateʼs branches, the far east branch where many people had gathered, swarming to join the sect.

There was also the flying boat with the Fire Phoenix Clanʼs Zenflame Family emblem, making it so that the crowd was in an uproar.

However, it wasnʼt the only reason, as they saw a flying boat with the Ice Phoenix Clanʼs emblem, causing Davis and Ellia to be astonished.
