Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2428 Suppressed

”Mother…”

Stella Voidfieldʼs voice sounded meek. From her motherʼs account, she had just finished hearing about who Davis Alstreim was but still wished for him to survive. She felt that this wasnʼt right. Why were the heavens striking him so furiously?

He didnʼt seem to have done anything wrong that would warrant its fury.

”There is no fairness in the world, my child. When you venture out, you must be careful of everyone, including him… if he manages to survive, that is...”

Wix Voidfield sighed at the end.

She was deeply astonished as to how Davis survived this long, and she knew better than most people.

Even in Annihilative Immortal Tribulations, there were many levels as she knew.

To have all the twelve Paragon Magical Beasts as manifestations in their Annihilative Immortal Tribulation, she had heard no one faced that kind of tribulation. Utmost, she had read about six Paragon Magical Beast manifestations and also read that it was possible to make it through if they had three, but even then, it was extremely difficult.

As she saw four more Paragon Magical Beasts descending, she couldnʼt help but close her eyes, knowing that it was more or less the end.

Davis also prepared himself for the worst as intense pressure crashed over him with their advent.

His eyes were especially on the wolf and the turtle because if what he guessed was true, then they would have deathly and karmic nature that might essentially drag him down to death. On the other hand, the fox might be weak yet sharp. As for the hydra, he didnʼt know what to think of it.

Perhaps, it was almost unkillable?

Luck would have it that the wolf was the one to arrive first before him despite the hydra launching itself at him. It was slow, but the wolf was not, seemingly moving like a ghost even though it was an annihilative heavenly lightning manifestation.

Davis summoned out a scythe again, but he didnʼt use reincarnation energy but only heavenly firestorm energy.

He was saving the last Spear of Damnation for the dragon, and he could not expend his soul force below five percent or risk falling unconscious, so he could only use the other two energies. In fact, others would start feeling dizzy the moment they reached thirty percent of their soul force and less, but Davis was standing tall and clear-headed.

However, he was like a cornered beast fueled with insanity seeping out from his eyes.

*Awoooo!!!~*

Right as the wolf neared him, it suddenly howled, facing the skies, and stopped, causing Davisʼs brows to frown. Just as he moved to attack it, he couldnʼt help but freeze over.

”You… you have my descendantʼs mark within you…?” Came out a pained voice.

”…!”

Davis felt goosebumps as he witnessed the manifestation talk that he couldnʼt help but hurriedly back up. However, understanding what was asked, he couldnʼt help but become shocked.

This wolf was asking him about Nadia!?

*Rumble!~*

The dark clouds seemed to rumble in anger, but the trembling scarlet-black wolf lowered its head and gazed at Davis with its pitch-black eyes.

”… help… our descendants… free from the suppressive curse…! Awooo!!!”

Its head raised as it howled again but in its pitch-black eyes was a semblance of life trying to break out.

It hurriedly threw itself to the other side and lashed onto a nine-headed hydra. The scarlet-black wolfʼs lightning body exploded at the nine-headed hydra, and unexpectedly, the nine heads lost their luster as they began to disappear.

It was like they had lost their Will from within.

*Rumble!!!~*

The heavens angrily cried out, causing the remnant strands of the crimson-black wolf to explode and disperse into nothingness. It was clear that it hadnʼt expected this to happen and lashed out, punishing it, and just like the heavens, Davis was also stunned.

What the heck did just happen?

Did the wolf just ask him for help as it recognized Nadiaʼs aura in him? If that was the case, how come the fox was unresponsive and cold to him even now? It shouldʼve sensed Everlightʼs aura on him, no?

Could it be that the heavens suppressed only the death-attribute wolves to death?

Why? Because they were too much of a balance breaker?

Many questions popped into Davisʼs head, but his body automatically moved, appearing before the fox as he slashed out with his scythe.

*Shi!~* *Shi!~* *Shi!~*

Within an instant, he cut nine times, but the fox was just as fast, healing at a rate beyond his imagination while it fought with annihilative heavenly lightning surging out of its claws. Its nine tails flailed and shot towards him like nine swords.

However, Davis swung the scythe in a vertical arc, managing to cut every single one of those lightning tails one by one.

In the end, the fox wasnʼt a match, although it was fast and quickly able to heal.

Placing his hand on its forehead while his other hand finished swinging the scythe, a burst of reincarnation energy entered the foxʼs head and caused itʼs Will to collapse.

At the same time, Davis felt the premonition of his death. It was like he had been abruptly tied by threads, causing him to be unable to move. However, squinting his eyes and using the little bit of rare Karmic Laws he had intrinsically absorbed from Fallen Heaven from using it many times, he was abruptly able to see webs of karmic thread make up the skies, albeit vaguely.

It was all around him. However, one of them connected to the karmic turtle that had its eyes on him.

Davisʼs eyes flashed with a murderous light as his scythe swung around him, held by his soul force as it cut the threads. The next moment, he caught the pole and slashed down, causing the karmic turtle to tremble.

”Ruo!!~”

Its annihilative heavenly lightning manifestation shuddered and began to crumble apart.

*Shi!~* *Shi!~* *Shi!~*

Its remnant Will screamed, but Davis appeared before its giant body as his heavenly firestorm scythe danced, cutting the remnant strands apart as he made mincemeat out of it, except there was no meat.

*Rumble!!!~*

The heavens rumbled with rage, lightning flashing throughout the skies. The secret realm was crumbling apart, with fissures appearing everywhere.

Stella Voidfield and Wix Voidfield were also aware, but they were stunned as they saw Davis survive the onslaught somehow. Although Stella Voidfield wished for him to survive, she really didnʼt expect him to survive.

”Go! Win, big brother!”

She stood up from her motherʼs embrace and screamed, causing Davis to turn slightly to look at them. For the first time, he also saw Wix Voidfield but could only see that she was a starry violet silhouette. He couldnʼt see her features nor see what she was wearing.

Nonetheless, he couldnʼt help but wave at his only cheerer. Unexpectedly, Stella Voidfield called him big brother that he remembered Clara and the others. Fortunately, they werenʼt here. Otherwise, they would be crying when they saw the big three descend.

He returned his gaze to the apocalyptic skies and saw the dragon, phoenix, and the kirin descend.

”Now then… how exactly do I survive this…?” a wry smile appeared on his face.
