Chapter 340: Chapter 340: Little Ape’s Breakthrough

After a full half-day, Lin Yun finally finished refining the Golden Lion Essence Blood. As he slowly opened his eyes, he discovered that Little Ape had, at some point, started roughhousing with the Firebird.

Although the Firebird appeared proud and domineering, it was, to put it bluntly, still just a simple-minded Demon Beast. Compared to the Demon Beasts of the outside world, this Firebird was more than just a little bit innocent.

Watching the fist-sized Little Ape bounce and hop all over the Firebird’s body, Lin Yun could clearly sense that Little Ape had reached the limit for a Tier Two Demon Beast. His breakthrough to Tier Three shouldn’t be far off.

Little Ape’s Cultivation was easier than any human’s or Demon Beast’s, a fact that made everyone incredibly envious and jealous.

Aside from his enormous appetite and the vast amount of resources he consumed, Little Ape basically never cultivated. He spent his days just eating and sleeping, yet he improved at a rapid pace every single day.

’Come to think of it, it’s only been a few years since I met Little Ape. Back then, he was just a newborn—a Tier One Demon Beast, according to their ranking system.’

Yet in just a few short years, Little Ape had already reached the limit for a Tier Two Demon Beast, with his breakthrough to Tier Three just around the corner. On top of that, he had even awakened his Bloodline Power.

This was all thanks to Little Ape’s bloodline. Possessing the blood of both the Vajra Divine Ape and the Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape, he was an existence forbidden by heaven and earth. However, the power of his bloodline was likely even greater than that of either the Vajra Divine Ape or the Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape.

”Little Ape is about to break through to a Tier Three Demon Beast,” Lin Yun mused with a faint smile. He knew he had to pick up the pace as well. ’If I want to contend for supremacy in the Eastern Heart Domain, the Qi Sea Realm is far from sufficient.’

’Just think about the Five Great Demon Fiends of the Eastern Domain. They’re all at the limit of the Primordial Ocean Realm. It probably won’t be long before they break through to the Celestial Spirit Realm. Once those five do, I’m afraid not even experts at Celestial Spirit Realm Perfection would be their match.’

’I have to break through to the Primordial Ocean Realm as soon as possible,’ Lin Yun thought.

”Go hunt another Tier Three Demon Beast for me,” he said to the Firebird again.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the Firebird, which had been playing with Little Ape, whipped its head around. Its eyes, burning as if they wanted to devour him, glared at Lin Yun. ”Despicable human! You’ve been tricking me all along! You just want me to hunt Demon Beasts for you!”

The Firebird was simple-minded, but it wasn’t stupid. With intelligence rivaling that of a human, it had figured everything out when it saw Lin Yun refining the Golden Lion Essence Blood. The Firebird had initially intended to interrupt him, but Little Ape had stood in its way. Now that Lin Yun was demanding it hunt yet another Demon Beast, the Firebird was utterly furious.

Lin Yun had anticipated this outcome. After all, the Firebird wasn’t a fool.

With a slight smile, Lin Yun said bluntly, ”I do want you to hunt Demon Beasts for me, but it’s no loss to you. Or are you saying you’re scared?”

”Don’t try to provoke me. I won’t fall for your tricks again,” the Firebird retorted.

”Fine then. Worst comes to worst, I’ll go hunt them myself. You can stay here and be bored in the Demon Beast Ridge. I was originally planning to plead with the Palace Master to let you out to see the world when I leave, but who knew you’d be so ungrateful. Forget it, then,” Lin Yun said, feigning regret.

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the Firebird’s eyes instantly lit up. It was truly bored in the Demon Beast Ridge, with nothing to do day after day. If Lin Yun could really get it out of here, the Firebird would be absolutely ecstatic.

”Are you serious?” it asked Lin Yun, unconvinced.

”Why would I lie to you? I’m a Disciple of the Master of Flawless Palace,” Lin Yun replied smugly.

”You’re really Luo Feng’s Disciple?” the Firebird asked, still skeptical. Luo Feng was its master.

”Absolutely.”

After confirming again and again, the Firebird finally chose to believe Lin Yun. It was idle anyway, and if Lin Yun could really take it out for a spin, the Firebird would have hit the jackpot.

The Firebird yearned for the outside world. It had once followed Luo Feng to many places and fondly remembered the scenery, reluctant to ever leave.

”You’d better not be lying to me, or I’ll make you regret it.” Staring at Lin Yun with a warning, the Firebird finally agreed to the deal.

With things settled, the Firebird began hunting one Tier Three Demon Beast for Lin Yun every day, just as he requested. With a daily supply of Demon Beast Essence Blood to refine, both Lin Yun’s physical body and his Cultivation grew rapidly.

For an entire month, Lin Yun did nothing but refine Demon Beast Essence Blood. He didn’t have to worry about a thing, as the Firebird would bring back a Tier Three Demon Beast every single day.

Then one day, after a month had passed, Little Ape was different. Early that morning, the aura emanating from his body had become exceptionally violent.

’Is he about to break through?’ Looking at Little Ape, Lin Yun knew his time had come.

’I didn’t expect Little Ape would break through before me.’ Watching his body grow increasingly wild, Lin Yun reflected on how a Demon Beast’s breakthrough differed from a Martial Artist’s.

A Demon Beast’s advancement is very slow, and its lifespan is also much longer than a human’s. Furthermore, the heights a Demon Beast can reach in its lifetime are determined entirely by its bloodline.

It’s different for humans. With hard work and fortuitous encounters, even someone with ordinary aptitude could possibly reach the Primordial Ocean Realm. But for a Demon Beast, if its bloodline is weak, it could never become a High Tier Demon Beast, even if it trained its entire life.

The aura around him grew more and more violent. Little Ape’s body, once only the size of a fist, began to grow uncontrollably, shooting up to a sturdy ten meters in height.

BAM! BAM! BAM! He beat his chest repeatedly as the Evil Qi surrounding him exploded outwards, making him look exceptionally ferocious.

The Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape and the Vajra Divine Ape were among the most ferocious and warlike Demon Beasts in existence—races that could stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Divine Dragons and Phoenixes.

In the midst of his breakthrough, Little Ape’s aura was completely uncontrollable. It was different from a human’s breakthrough, where one had to follow a Cultivation Technique to circulate the Elemental Power within their body.

A Demon Beast’s breakthrough was a natural process, driven purely by instinct.

ROAR! ROAR! ROAR! Terrifying roars echoed ceaselessly. The sheer might of Little Ape’s breakthrough was immense; all the Tier Three Demon Beasts for dozens of miles around were terrified by his aura and fled in every direction.

”So this is the power of a Vajra Divine Ape and Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape’s breakthrough?” Lin Yun muttered as he watched Little Ape from a distance. ’Worthy of being a supreme Demon Beast of the Divine Realm. To have such power just from breaking through to Tier Three...’

Little Ape’s aura continued to climb steadily. In the end, the fur on his body turned an even deeper shade of crimson, looking as if it were coated in fresh blood.

And it didn’t stop there. Little Ape’s eyes also turned crimson. A tyrannical, world-destroying aura emanated from his body, and even from a great distance, Lin Yun could feel its terrifying nature.

At this moment, Little Ape finally revealed the true ferocity of the Heaven-Destroying Demon Ape and the Vajra Divine Ape. As if he meant to tear the very heavens and earth asunder, he resembled an Asura emerging from the depths of Hell, his body radiating an indescribable Evil Qi.
