Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 332: Chapter 332: Pure Essence Blood

The Demon Beasts of Demon Beast Ridge were extremely intelligent, which made it difficult for Little Ape’s bloodline suppression to work. As Lin Yun rapidly adapted to being hunted all day, he was also mentally devising a counter-strategy.

After all, he had to stay here for a year. If he was constantly being hunted by Demon Beasts like this, Lin Yun feared he would go insane.

While resting under a large tree, Little Ape was still sleeping soundly and carefree in Lin Yun’s arms. Lin Yun, on the other hand, was deep in thought, trying to figure out how to handle the Demon Beasts’ ambushes.

After some thought, a smile gradually crept onto the corners of Lin Yun’s mouth. ’That’s right. If these beasts can ambush me, can’t I do the same? First, I need to immobilize them. Then, Little Ape’s bloodline suppression can finally take effect.’

It was never in Lin Yun’s nature to take adversity lying down. Faced with this situation, his thoughts turned to taking the offensive. ’You want to kill me? Then I’ll kill you. It’s not like I have anything better to do, and getting more Demon Beast Essence Blood for my Refining Body practice wouldn’t be a bad thing.’

With a preliminary plan in mind, Lin Yun began to ponder the details. The biggest problem was that the Demon Beasts here would never fight to the death. The moment Little Ape used its bloodline suppression, they would immediately flee.

To solve this problem, he first had to immobilize them.

’Damn it, I’ll do it. He who strikes first has the advantage!’ Having made up his mind, Lin Yun gritted his teeth and decided to give it a shot. ’Besides, I have plenty of time. I can’t just keep running away forever, can I?’

He continued to move cautiously through the mountain forest. This time, however, Lin Yun did his utmost to conceal his presence. He was hunting Demon Beasts.

It had to be said, Lin Yun was truly insane. Anyone else who encountered the freakishly intelligent Demon Beasts of Demon Beast Ridge would have immediately looked for a safe place to hide, not actively provoked them. Who but Lin Yun would go out of their way to hunt them?

After traveling cautiously for several miles, Lin Yun finally spotted a Golden Lion beneath a large boulder.

The Golden Lion was fast asleep in the boulder’s shadow.

’Is it alone?’ He didn’t attack rashly. The Demon Beasts of Demon Beast Ridge couldn’t be understood with the same logic as normal ones. He patiently scanned the surroundings.

Only after confirming that this was the only Golden Lion for several miles in any direction did Lin Yun begin to slowly approach it.

Not the slightest hint of his aura escaped. Both the War God Technique and the Demon Emperor Technique were Unparalleled Techniques, so Lin Yun’s control over his presence was more masterful than that of any other Martial Artist in the world.

He crept to within ten meters of the Golden Lion and hid silently in the tall grass. The beast was still completely unaware of his presence, sleeping soundly.

He exchanged a look with Little Ape and silently drew his Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear. His eyes were locked on the Golden Lion, noting that it remained oblivious.

’Good. Today, I’m going to let you beasts know what it feels like to be ambushed,’ he muttered with a cold smile. The moment the thought crossed his mind, Lin Yun burst from the grass. Wielding the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, he thrust it toward the Golden Lion.

Lin Yun’s attack was sudden. The soundly sleeping Golden Lion never expected an ambush. Before it could even react, the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear had viciously pierced its hind leg.

That was right—Lin Yun’s goal wasn’t a one-hit kill. The chances of success were too low. It was far better to immobilize the Golden Lion first. Once Little Ape applied its bloodline suppression, killing it would be much easier.

The Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear ran its right hind leg straight through. The Golden Lion roared, its crimson eyes glaring at Lin Yun with fury. But at that exact moment, Little Ape, still perched on Lin Yun’s shoulder, unleashed its Bloodline Power.

Feeling the pressure from a superior bloodline, the fury in the Golden Lion’s eyes instantly cleared. Just as Lin Yun had predicted, it didn’t choose to fight. Instead, it immediately turned to flee.

’What a fucking weirdo,’ Lin Yun thought. ’Would a normal Demon Beast run away in a situation like this? To hell with it. But do you really think you can escape?’ Seeing the Golden Lion try to flee, Lin Yun executed Inch Step. The Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear in his hand shot out again, this time aiming for the beast’s left hind leg.

With its right hind leg injured, the Golden Lion’s movements were already restricted. Now that Lin Yun was targeting its left, the highly intelligent beast didn’t just blindly flee. As Lin Yun closed in, it spun around and swiped with its massive paw, clashing with him head-on.

He had successfully tied up the Golden Lion—exactly the result Lin Yun wanted. As long as he didn’t give the beast a chance to escape, he was confident he could kill it with the help of Little Ape’s bloodline suppression.

After a fierce exchange, Lin Yun gradually gained the upper hand. For the first time in Demon Beast Ridge, Little Ape’s bloodline suppression was finally showing its true power.

ROAR, ROAR, ROAR... Forced into a corner, the Golden Lion roared again and again, desperate to escape. But Lin Yun was like a maggot on a rotting bone, sticking to it relentlessly and giving it no opportunity whatsoever.

Gradually, the Golden Lion accumulated more and more wounds. Finally, seizing a golden opportunity, Lin Yun struck like a thunderbolt. With the third flash of the Wind Thunder Triple Flash, his Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear became a streak of Lightning, piercing through the Golden Lion’s skull without any resistance.

A look of very human-like terror flashed in its eyes as the Golden Lion’s massive body collapsed. Its life force rapidly faded away.

Having successfully dealt with the Golden Lion, Lin Yun breathed a sigh of relief. The Demon Beasts in Demon Beast Ridge were truly stronger than those in the outside world. A normal Tier Three Demon Beast could never have lasted so long against him and Little Ape working together.

Regardless, he had finally succeeded. After stowing the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, Lin Yun prepared to extract its Essence Blood. Looking down at the Golden Lion’s corpse, he finally let out the breath of frustration he’d been holding in.

”’Keep hunting me, you bastards,’ Lin Yun cursed aloud. ’See if I don’t hunt you down one by one and roast you over a fire!’”

It was a crude thing to say, but Lin Yun couldn’t be blamed. Anyone who’d been hunted by a pack of Demon Beasts for days on end would be fed up. The most infuriating part was that these Demon Beasts were all smarter than the last; they didn’t act like proper Demon Beasts at all.

As he muttered, Lin Yun had already started refining the Golden Lion’s Essence Blood. But as soon as he began, he could feel this particular beast was special. Normally, refining the Essence Blood of a Tier Three Demon Beast was easy for him now, but with this Golden Lion Essence Blood, he felt a slight strain.

This was a good thing. It proved the Golden Lion’s bloodline was exceptionally pure.

The purer a Demon Beast’s bloodline, the more refined its Essence Blood, and the more beneficial it was for a Martial Artist.

After a full hour, Lin Yun finally finished refining the Golden Lion’s Essence Blood. Looking at the single drop of Essence Blood in his hand, his face lit up with excitement.

It was condensed yet cohesive, as translucent as a blood jade. This was, without a doubt, the purest Essence Blood Lin Yun had ever seen.
