Chapter 318: Chapter 318: Breaking Ground on Taisui’s Head

After the young woman left, having just watched her sword practice, Lin Yun found himself alone. A sudden impulse struck him, and he too began to practice. Holding the broom in his hands, Lin Yun began to execute the Red Flame Spear Technique.

He didn’t dare to use his Elemental Power; the broom would never be able to withstand it. He could only go through the motions of the Red Flame Spear Technique.

Even though he wasn’t using any Elemental Power, the fallen leaves around Lin Yun began to swirl as if caught in a tornado, spinning around him.

The Spear Technique Lin Yun was now performing was far more profound than the young woman’s. He had grasped the True Intent of the entire Red Flame Spear Technique, and as he executed it, his movements were powerful enough to stir the air.

When he finished the set, he found that the surrounding leaves had all been gathered into a single pile. He had completed his task with ease. A small smile touched Lin Yun’s lips as he shouldered the nearby trash basket and headed for the servant disciple area.

On Lin Yun’s way back, Young Master Kong and his older brother, Fatty Kong, were plotting something.

”Bro, that new kid is way too arrogant. I have to teach him a lesson.”

Hearing his younger brother’s words, Fatty Kong didn’t hesitate. He was used to cleaning up his brother’s messes. Besides, no one in the Flawless Palace would care about a servant disciple. A few of them dying was of no consequence.

”Just be careful. Don’t stir up any major trouble. I’ll assign him to your group this afternoon.” With this reminder to Young Master Kong, Fatty Kong had already agreed.

Hearing his brother’s reply, Young Master Kong let out a sinister chuckle. ”Don’t worry, Bro. It’s not like this is my first time.”

The two brothers exchanged a knowing smile. Fatty Kong truly doted on his younger brother. The two of them were orphans from a village not far from the Flawless Palace.

Fatty Kong had been the first to enter the Flawless Palace as a servant disciple. After years of struggle, he finally became a One-Star Steward. Later, when his younger brother, Young Master Kong, entered the Flawless Palace, Fatty Kong catered to his every whim.

It was because of Fatty Kong’s constant indulgence that Young Master Kong grew more and more tyrannical in the servant disciple area. At first, he had only dared to bully the newcomers. But as he grew bolder, it was no longer rare for him to be responsible for the deaths of new servant disciples.

”Alright, I’ll assign him to your group this afternoon. Just remember, try not to let the other Stewards find out.” After reminding Young Master Kong one more time, Fatty Kong leisurely departed.

After Fatty Kong left, Young Master Kong summoned the eight followers who were always with him. The group plotted for a moment, then broke into quiet laughter. It seemed they had already decided how to deal with Lin Yun.

Young Master Kong and his cronies were the bullies of Lin Yun’s workgroup. This was not only because Young Master Kong’s brother was Fatty Kong, but also because the nine of them had the highest Cultivation levels in the group.

The weakest among the nine had reached the Ninth Layer of Opening Realm, while Young Master Kong and two others had even reached the First Layer of Qi Sea Realm.

Carrying the trash basket, Lin Yun went to the refuse room and emptied it. He then returned the broom and basket to the servant disciple on watch before heading straight back to his dormitory instead of going to the dining hall.

Instead of eating what the dining hall had to offer, Lin Yun figured he might as well just refine a Three-Stars Qi Essence Pill. After all, he could refine them very quickly.

The morning’s work was complete. The servant disciples who had eaten breakfast rested for an hour, after which Fatty Kong once again began assigning the afternoon’s tasks.

Just as the two brothers had planned, Lin Yun was assigned to Young Master Kong’s group. Including Lin Yun, there were ten of them in total, and they were responsible for transporting living supplies for the Disciples of the Flawless Palace.

The Flawless Palace was built on a central island in the Flawless Waters. Every day, large quantities of supplies were transported from the outside world to the Flawless Palace, including things like clothing, Demon Beasts, and food.

They arrived at one of the Flawless Palace’s dedicated unloading docks. An entire shipload of goods needed to be moved by the ten of them onto the adjacent horse-drawn carts, which would then transport the goods to the warehouses.

Arriving at the dock, Lin Yun gazed at the mountain of goods. ’The Flawless Palace is truly a money-burning machine,’ he thought. ’Setting aside Cultivation Resources, the cost of daily necessities alone must be an astronomical sum.’ 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂

”Kid, what are you standing around gawking for? Get moving! If we don’t finish today, you’ll have hell to pay,” Young Master Kong and his eight cronies shouted at Lin Yun, showing no intention of lifting a finger themselves.

Hearing this, Lin Yun turned to look at them, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. In an icy tone, he asked, ”By myself?”

”Obviously! If you don’t move it alone, you expect us to help? Are you stupid or something?” Young Master Kong retorted.

”Haha, this kid is so naive. Don’t the new guys always have to do more work? Let me tell you, if you don’t follow the rules here, the consequences will be severe.”

”Why waste your breath on him? Get moving! Or do we have to make you?”

The nine of them continued to yell at Lin Yun. These guys couldn’t see through Lin Yun’s true strength at all. In their eyes, how high could the Cultivation of a new servant disciple possibly be? Anyone strong enough to take down several of them at once would have already become an Outer Disciple, not ended up here with the servant disciples.

”Rules? Are you the ones who set the rules around here?” Lin Yun’s gaze grew colder and colder.

Originally, Lin Yun hadn’t planned on stooping to their level. His goal was to become a Core Disciple of the Flawless Palace, and to complete Luo Feng’s trial, he had planned to endure whatever he had to. Besides, in his eyes, these servant disciples were too weak. It wasn’t worth his time to argue with them.

But who would have thought, these people were simply courting death. The more you refused to stoop to their level, the more they thought you were an easy target, and the more they’d push their luck.

”Enough crap. Around here, what I say goes. I’ll ask you one more time: are you going to move it or not?” Young Master Kong demanded in a cold voice.

Seeing Lin Yun being threatened by Young Master Kong and his cronies, the boatmen responsible for transporting the cargo showed no intention of getting involved. It was clear this was nothing new to them.

Although Young Master Kong and his friends were servant disciples, the lowest-ranking people in the Flawless Palace, compared to outsiders, they were still, at the end of the day, people of the Flawless Palace.

It was better to not get involved. The boatmen naturally weren’t going to offend a Disciple of the Flawless Palace, even a servant disciple.

Lin Yun looked at Young Master Kong and his eight followers, a raging fire burning in his heart. All this time, Lin Yun had believed that Luo Feng had made him start as a servant disciple to temper himself. However, Lin Yun suddenly realized this wasn’t tempering at all.

These guys had no real strength, no Cultivation to speak of, yet they dared to act so high and mighty in front of him. When had Lin Yun ever been forced to put up with such disrespect?

’Dammit, I hold back a little and you think I’m a pushover? Endure this? My ass!’ Lin Yun thought.

At this thought, Lin Yun decided to let loose. These servant disciples were just asking for a beating. Tempering? Training? He tossed all of it to the back of his mind. In short: if you piss me off, I’ll smash your head in.
