Chapter 291: Chapter 291: The Lion and the Mad Dog

Even in a situation that should have been his certain death, Lin Yun had fought to the bitter end and killed two more people. At this moment, even the perpetually enraged Crown Prince was momentarily stunned. A sliver of ice-cold fear crept into his heart at the sight of Lin Yun’s madness.

However, as he gazed at the powerless Lin Yun collapsed on the ground and recalled the Third Prince, Second Prince, and Fifth Prince—all slain by Lin Yun—the Crown Prince’s expression twisted with savagery once more.

Lin Yun no longer had the strength to even lift a finger. The Crown Prince furiously strode up to him.

’A chill rose in his heart again. To think that he, the Crown Prince, could actually feel fear toward Lin Yun... This was unacceptable. Didn’t this mean he was afraid of Lin Yun?’

The weak often deal with fear by roaring and acting mad, all to conceal the terror in their hearts—just like the Crown Prince at this very moment.

Facing the prone Lin Yun, the Crown Prince viciously stomped on his stomach. Instantly, Lin Yun spat out a large mouthful of blood.

”Hahaha, aren’t you so tough, Lin Yun? Get up and fight me...” With a savage look on his face, the Crown Prince continued to beat and curse him madly. Only by doing this could he release that wretched sliver of fear in his heart.

As the Crown Prince mercilessly beat him, Lin Yun did not utter a single sound from beginning to end. His eyes, fixed on the Crown Prince, held nothing but killing intent.

After beating him for some time, the Crown Prince saw that Lin Yun showed no trace of fear. This deeply unsettled the already twisted prince.

”Fine. I’d like to see just how long you can endure this.” With a vicious smile, the Crown Prince fixed his gaze on Lin Yun’s right arm.

Gathering his Elemental Power, the Crown Prince threw a vicious punch straight at Lin Yun’s shoulder blade. CRACK! With that single blow, Lin Yun’s entire shoulder blade was shattered.

Excruciating pain instantly tore through Lin Yun’s entire body. Beads of sweat the size of soybeans appeared on his forehead. He clenched his jaw, refusing to cry out. He bit down so hard that the corner of his mouth split open and bled.

His entire right arm was now completely crippled by the Crown Prince. Lin Yun’s right hand, which had been clutching the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, went limp and released its grip.

The Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear clattered to the ground, rolling to a stop right at the Crown Prince’s feet. Gazing at the bone-white weapon, he picked it up. As he held it in his hand and looked at Lin Yun, his savage expression was now mixed with a thick, smug satisfaction.

”A fine Spirit Soldier. Today, I’ll use it to cripple you, haha.”

As he spoke, the Crown Prince viciously thrust the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear into Lin Yun’s right knee. The sound of cracking bone echoed as Lin Yun’s entire kneecap shattered.

After piercing Lin Yun’s right knee, the Crown Prince yanked the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear out and viciously stabbed it into Lin Yun’s left knee.

The successive waves of agony drained all the color from Lin Yun’s face, leaving it as pale as paper. With both his arms and legs now crippled by the Crown Prince, Lin Yun was, for all intents and purposes, a broken man.

Staring deathlessly at the Crown Prince, Lin Yun felt no fear in his heart, only hatred. ’I hate this. I hate that I’m not strong enough. If I had the power, I would slaughter the entire Royal Family! I wouldn’t even spare a single ant!’

”Hahaha, go on, scream! Beg me! If you beg me, I’ll give you a quick death! Lin Yun, hurry up and beg me, hahaha!” The Crown Prince had completely lost his mind. Laughing maniacally, he repeatedly stabbed the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear into Lin Yun’s legs.

He stabbed, pulled it out, and stabbed again. In less than ten breaths’ time, Lin Yun’s legs were a mangled ruin of flesh and blood.

The Celestial Eagle Valley disciples watching from the sidelines, and even the experts from the Six Great Forces on the high platform, all showed looks of pity. Beyond that, however, their eyes held both contempt and admiration.

This had nothing to do with strength. The Crown Prince’s actions were not those of a genius; they were the actions of a coward.

Lin Yun, in contrast, had not made a single sound throughout the inhuman torture. He gritted his teeth and endured, clinging to the pride and dignity in his heart.

”Beg me, Lin Yun! I want you to beg me out loud! Beg me to give you a quick death! Hurry up and beg me!” No matter how the Crown Prince tortured him, Lin Yun remained silent. As time dragged on, the Crown Prince grew even more frantic.

He didn’t just want to kill Lin Yun; he needed Lin Yun to beg him. At this point, the Crown Prince’s pathetic psyche was on the verge of collapse. He needed Lin Yun to beg him. He needed to prove that he was stronger than Lin Yun.

But the Crown Prince’s method of proof was pathetic and despicable. He had lost all confidence. He was now completely controlled by the cowardice and fear in his own heart.

”Beg me! I want you to beg me...!” the Crown Prince shrieked madly.

Watching the Crown Prince and Lin Yun, the entire plaza on Celestial Eagle Peak fell silent. Even Tang Chenming shook his head in disappointment. He was disappointed in the Crown Prince. Compared to Lin Yun, the Prince was worlds apart. If not for the enmity between Lin Yun and the Tang Family, Tang Chenming would have definitely recruited Lin Yun into Celestial Eagle Valley. This was a man who possessed true pride.

Lin Yun’s pride emanated from his very bones. Tortured by the Crown Prince until he was barely recognizable, all the bones in his legs had been shattered, and his flesh was already a mangled pulp.

Using the last dregs of his strength, Lin Yun spoke to the Crown Prince in a halting voice, ”How can a sparrow know the ambition of a swan... How can a serpent of the earth know the pride of a Divine Dragon?”

Hearing Lin Yun’s words, the Crown Prince’s already savage face became even more terrifying. His features completely twisted, he began to frantically stab the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear into Lin Yun’s body.

His chest, his stomach, his arms... Every part of Lin Yun’s body, aside from his head, was stabbed by the Crown Prince’s Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear.

As if in a final, fleeting resurgence of life, the brutally tortured Lin Yun suddenly burst into loud laughter. His laugh was thick with indignation and hatred, but it also carried a sense of wild, untamed abandon, like a wounded lion roaring at the heavens.

”Haha, no matter how much a mad dog barks, it’s still just a mad dog that only knows how to prey on the weak. In this life, I, Lin Yun, have failed to annihilate your Royal Family... Haha!”

Lin Yun laughed boisterously, but halfway through his sentence, a great spray of blood erupted from his mouth. At that moment, however, everyone in the crowd looked upon him with reverence. This was a man worthy of admiration.

”I have to save him.” Huang Tao, who had originally not planned to intervene, finally made up his mind. Before coming here, his master had told him not to get involved in any of Lin Yun’s affairs.

But now, Huang Tao decided to ignore his master’s words. This was the first time he had ever defied his master.

”I’ll go too.” Hearing Huang Tao’s words, several of the Celestial Eagle Valley Direct Disciples beside him also spoke up. Lin Yun’s display had struck them like a bolt of lightning, and an indescribable feeling flowed through their hearts.

A man like that did not deserve to die at the hands of the Crown Prince. Compared to Lin Yun, the Crown Prince was an utter coward.

”Stop!” Without any further hesitation, Huang Tao roared and led the Celestial Eagle Valley disciples forward to block the crazed Crown Prince.
