Chapter 263: Chapter 263: The Enraged Elder 3

Lin Yun didn’t use his full speed. He deliberately controlled his pace, allowing the Wind Forest Sect disciple behind him to keep up.

After running for two blocks, Lin Yun ducked into a deserted alley. Seeing this, the Wind Forest Sect disciple hesitated at the entrance.

’I’m no match for Lin Yun. Wouldn’t rushing in be suicide?’

Torn, the Wind Forest Sect disciple ultimately didn’t dare to enter the alley. A person’s life is always the most important thing; everyone is afraid of death.

It was, admittedly, the right decision. He only stood guard at the entrance without going in. At that very moment, Lin Yun was waiting for him inside the alley.

’He’s not so dumb.’ After waiting for a while without the disciple following him in, Lin Yun smiled faintly.

Since the man wouldn’t come in, Lin Yun could only resort to force. He executed Inch Step, shooting out of the alley like a bolt of lightning. Before the Wind Forest Sect disciple could even react, Lin Yun grabbed him by the neck and dragged him into the alley as if he were a helpless chick.

An ordinary cultivator in the Qi Sea Realm stood no chance against Lin Yun. Only a true genius could hope to contend with him at that level.

After easily dragging him into the alley, Lin Yun showed no mercy and killed the man on the spot. He then used his Disguise Technique to assume the man’s appearance.

When Lin Yun walked out of the alley again, he was wearing the clothes of a Wind Forest Sect disciple, his face identical to the man he had just killed.

Just as Lin Yun emerged, he saw the other disciple from before running in his direction. At the same time, five Primordial Ocean Realm Elders descended from the sky.

One of them looked at Lin Yun and demanded, ”Where’s that brat?”

”Forgive my incompetence, Elder. I failed to stop him. He got away,” Lin Yun replied with a bow.

A look of displeasure clearly crossed the Elders’ faces at Lin Yun’s reply. However, they didn’t scold him. One of them just said with great annoyance,

”Absolutely useless.”

Having lost Lin Yun’s trail, the five Elders gave some brief instructions and quickly departed.

Little did they know that the Wind Forest Sect disciple standing before them was none other than Lin Yun.

After the five Elders left, Lin Yun and the other Wind Forest Sect disciple resumed their search for ”Lin Yun’s” whereabouts. The pair went into every tavern and inn to make inquiries.

Lin Yun played his part perfectly the entire day. At the very least, the disciple at his side noticed nothing amiss. As evening fell, the two, exhausted from their long day, found a tavern and prepared to have a good meal.

As they ate and drank, the Wind Forest Sect disciple complained incessantly, ”This is so damned annoying. We all know that brat is powerful, yet they still send us to find him. What are we supposed to do if he kills us? On top of that, we’re like fire and water with the Third Elder’s faction. We enter their territory, but we can’t stir up any trouble. It’s infuriating!”

As the man vented his frustrations, Lin Yun drank his wine impassively to the side. Finally, when they were about halfway through their drinks, the people he had been waiting for appeared.

Four Wind Forest Sect disciples from the Third Elder’s faction entered the tavern. The moment they saw Lin Yun and his companion, the four walked over, mocking smirks on their faces.

”Well, well, if it isn’t one of the Grand Elder’s disciples. What, still haven’t caught that brat?” the leader taunted.

Hearing this, the Grand Elder’s disciple sitting with Lin Yun flew into a rage, shot to his feet, and roared, ”What’s it to you?”

”Hmph. Acting so arrogant on our turf. I think all you people from the Grand Elder are wastes, letting a cultivator at the Sixth Level of Qi Sea Realm kill two of your experts. What a disgrace.”

”What did you say?”

”Haha, am I wrong? Besides, this is our turf. You people from the Grand Elder’s faction had better watch your step. It’d be best if you didn’t provoke us.” After taunting Lin Yun and his companion, the four disciples from the Third Elder’s faction roared with laughter and headed toward a nearby table.

Lin Yun hadn’t said a single word from start to finish. Just as he’d anticipated, the relationship between the disciples of the two factions was strained to the breaking point.

A wicked smile crept onto his face. ’Everything is going just as I planned. Now is the time to make my move.’

The four paid Lin Yun and his companion no further mind. But just as they had taken a few steps, Lin Yun, who had been silent all this time, suddenly exploded into action. He charged toward the four of them, roaring furiously.

”You dare mock the Grand Elder’s faction? Die!”

As his roar echoed, he was already upon them. The four, with their meager cultivation at the Early Stage of the Qi Sea Realm, couldn’t withstand even a single one of his moves.

He slaughtered the four disciples from the Third Elder’s faction as easily as slicing through vegetables. ”You deserved to die,” Lin Yun said with cold indifference.

”You... You killed them?” The disciple, who had treated Lin Yun as a comrade the entire time, stammered in horror.

”They deserved it.”

”This is bad. We’re in deep trouble! We have to report this to the Elders, quickly! Knowing the Third Elder’s personality, he will never let this slide.” The disciple was frantic, urging Lin Yun out of the tavern.

The entire way, the disciple kept rambling about how they were in deep trouble, blaming Lin Yun for being too reckless. They had entered the Third Elder’s territory under specific terms. Now that Lin Yun had killed four of the Third Elder’s disciples, a man of his temperament was sure to fly into a rage.

The man rushed off to find the five Elders, with Lin Yun following at a leisurely pace. Upon reaching a deserted alley, Lin Yun suddenly struck, killing the man in an instant.

After killing the man, Lin Yun quickly departed. ’Tonight, I’ll deliver a grand gift to both the Third Elder and the Grand Elder.’

Like a Ghost in the night, Lin Yun killed no fewer than twenty disciples from the Third Elder’s faction. At the same time, he deliberately let them see his face and the Wind Forest Sect uniform he wore.

Soon, word spread that disciples from the Grand Elder’s faction were slaughtering those from the Third Elder’s faction.

Upon hearing the news, the Third Elder, in his residence late at night, was so enraged that he shattered all the furniture in the room. He roared at the several Primordial Ocean Realm experts under his command:

”Damnable! Absolutely damnable! Go! Exterminate every last one of the Grand Elder’s faction on my turf! I’ll show them that I’m not someone to be trifled with! Even if the Grand Elder’s faction is powerful, I’m not afraid!”

Lin Yun’s scheme to sow discord had worked perfectly. The main reason for its success was the Third Elder’s own impetuous and simple-minded nature.

From start to finish, the Third Elder was convinced this was a declaration of war from the Grand Elder—an attempt to use this opportunity to swallow his faction whole.

Knowing the Third Elder’s temper all too well, the Primordial Ocean Realm experts under him dared not say a word. They all rushed toward Wind Forest City.

After giving his orders, the Third Elder’s rage was still unquenched. Ignoring the late hour, he flew directly toward the Grand Elder’s residence.

Along the way, the Third Elder made no effort to conceal his Elemental Power or killing intent, attracting the attention of numerous Wind Forest Sect disciples wherever he passed.
