Divine Emperor Demon Emperor

Chapter 289: Chapter 289: A Proud Heart

The melee began. The Crown Prince and the four others attacked Lin Yun simultaneously. Faced with their siege and with no room to evade, Lin Yun, wielding the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, gave up on dodging entirely.

Their five attacks descended with vicious speed. Lin Yun set his sights on the Third Prince as his first target. Instantly unleashing Thunderfire Bombardment, his body was engulfed in flame and lightning as he charged ferociously toward the prince.

Seeing Lin Yun forgo defense to launch a counterattack, the five assailants were taken aback. Though they were all geniuses of the Primordial Ocean Realm, they didn’t dare underestimate him in the slightest.

”Third Brother, be careful!” the Crown Prince shouted.

Hearing the warning, the Third Prince, now facing Lin Yun’s attack, wore a savage expression. He was at the First Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm; there was no reason for him to fear someone at the mere Eighth Layer of the Qi Sea Realm.

”Heaven and Earth!” the Third Prince roared, thrusting out his palm. A giant hand of golden Elemental Power instantly formed and came crashing down on Lin Yun.

Lin Yun had no intention of backing down from the Third Prince’s attack. He met it head-on with Thunderfire Bombardment. Their attacks collided violently. The Heaven and Earth skill used by the Third Prince was a Martial Skill of the Royal Family, classified as Earth Level, Lower Tier.

As the two Martial Skills clashed, Lin Yun’s Thunderfire Bombardment proved slightly superior. After shattering the Third Prince’s attack, Lin Yun didn’t pause. With a flick of his spear, he executed Wind Thunder Triple Flash, stabbing swiftly toward the Third Prince’s heart.

Lin Yun was so fast he was in front of the Third Prince in the blink of an eye. Reacting on instinct, the prince twisted away from the fatal blow. The spear tip failed to pierce his heart, merely slicing open his shoulder.

As his attack was evaded, the other four arrived. Jin Ruhua slammed a punch squarely into Lin Yun’s back. Taking the full force of the blow, Lin Yun staggered forward a few steps, a trickle of blood escaping his lips.

Lin Yun was wounded in the very first exchange. The combined assault of five Primordial Ocean Realm geniuses was truly terrifying; even he felt overwhelmed.

Having landed a successful blow, the five felt their confidence soar. They were certain Lin Yun would die today. Forget his Qi Sea Realm Eighth Layer cultivation; even if he were at the First Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm, he would stand no chance of victory.

”Lin Yun, today is the day you die,” Jin Ruhua’s deep voice boomed.

Staring coldly at the five, pushed into a corner, Lin Yun prepared to go berserk. Because of the Green Talent List event, he hadn’t brought Little Ape with him, leaving it behind in his room. Otherwise, he would have let Little Ape join the battle without a moment’s hesitation.

”Even if I, Lin Yun, die in battle today, I’m taking you all with me.” His killing intent was now palpable as he spoke in a chilling voice.

The moment he finished speaking, Lin Yun attacked first. Executing Inch Step, his Minor Accomplishment Battle Intent erupted.

Sensing the Battle Intent radiating from Lin Yun, the expressions of the powerful figures from the Six Great Forces on the high platform flickered. The expert from Taiqing Academy sighed faintly. ”To have actually comprehended Minor Accomplishment Battle Intent... he truly has the makings of a Demon Fiend.”

”What a pity,” the expert from the Spiritual Light Pavilion added.

As for the expert from the Flawless Palace, his eyes were glued to Lin Yun amidst the bloody battle. The strength this young man displayed was indeed impressive, but not enough for the Flawless Palace to risk offending the other major powers for his sake.

Fighting five Primordial Ocean Realm geniuses alone, no one believed Lin Yun could win. Even Lin Yun himself knew he couldn’t expect to come out on top.

But even so, Lin Yun would not be captured without a fight. He would rely on his own strength to carve a bloody path forward. Even if it was a path to his own demise, he would fight his way down it.

The six were locked in close-quarters combat. Lin Yun repeatedly thrust with his Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear, his target always locked on the Third Prince. If he had to choose between the Yanhuang Royal Family and the Wind Forest Sect, Lin Yun’s desire to kill the members of the Royal Family was far greater.

With Lin Yun’s attacks relentlessly focused on the Third Prince, the Crown Prince grew furious, his own assaults becoming ever fiercer. Yet Lin Yun paid him no mind, singularly focused on how to kill the Third Prince.

The Third Prince was under immense pressure from Lin Yun’s killing blows. Several times, he felt like he’d had a brush with the Death God.

”Wind Thunder Triple Flash!” Seizing an opening in the Third Prince’s defense, Lin Yun thrust his spear. The Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear transformed into a bolt of lightning, piercing toward the prince’s chest as he watched in terror.

”Lin Yun, you dare!” the Crown Prince roared, throwing a punch. At the same time, Jin Ruhua and the other two launched their own attacks at Lin Yun.

Ignoring their attacks, Lin Yun pressed forward, his spear piercing straight through the Third Prince’s chest. But even as he succeeded, he was struck by the full force of all four of their blows.

He was sent flying dozens of meters before crashing violently to the ground. Lying there, Lin Yun couldn’t stop himself from coughing up great mouthfuls of blood. It felt as if every bone in his body had shattered.

The combined attack of the Crown Prince and the other three was no joke. Even a Martial Artist at the Second or Third Layer of the Primordial Ocean Realm wouldn’t have dared to receive that blow head-on. If Lin Yun’s Flawless Flesh Body hadn’t reached the limit of the First Layer, he would have been blown to pieces.

As he struggled back to his feet, his left arm could be seen hanging limply. The Crown Prince’s blow had shattered the bone, and now his left arm was completely immobile.

The excruciating pain wracking his body didn’t cause his expression to change. His eyes remained bright. Gripping the Demon Bone Heaven-Dominating Spear in his right hand, he used it to prop himself up and calmly faced the remaining four.

”Third Brother! Third Brother...!” The Crown Prince cried out again and again. The Third Prince, pierced through the chest by Lin Yun’s spear, now lay in a pool of his own blood.

”Elder Brother... I...” The Third Prince tried to speak, but after his lips moved, no words came out. And just like that, right beside the Crown Prince, he died.

At this point, the number of princes who had died by Lin Yun’s hand had reached three. Besides the Crown Prince and the Fourth Prince, Lin Yun had now killed three sons of the current His Holiness of Yanhuang Country.

He had never imagined that Lin Yun could kill his third brother while being besieged by the five of them. The Crown Prince’s eyes burned with rage. Gritting his teeth, he snarled, ”Lin Yun, I will drink your blood and rip out your sinews.”

His eyes were completely bloodshot. It was impossible to imagine the depth of the Crown Prince’s hatred for Lin Yun. Watching his own brothers be killed one after another had driven him completely mad.

Facing the crazed Crown Prince, Lin Yun’s expression remained cold and calm. Though many of his bones were shattered, he refused to fall, forcing himself to stay upright and face the four remaining opponents.

”I told you,” Lin Yun said, his killing intent chillingly clear. ”Even if I die, I’m taking you with me.”

Huang Tao had been watching Lin Yun’s fight this whole time. His face now showed a hint of surprise. The aura emanating from Lin Yun made Huang Tao’s own blood stir with excitement.

Faced with a death trap, besieged by five Primordial Ocean Realm geniuses, Lin Yun displayed an unyielding and fearless spirit. Huang Tao sensed a pride in him—a pride that emanated from his very bones, the pride of a sovereign looking down upon the world.
