Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 148: Chapter 92: Doesn’t Your Conscience Hurt? (2)

How could this happen?

Is he really that unsightly?

Su Changfeng noticed Blake Leaf’s pale face and felt a bit uneasy herself.

The goodwill that had emerged from their similar demeanors just vanished without a trace.

She stood up from the sofa, already displaying a posture of seeing off a guest, and said with a stern face, ”I have many meetings to attend. If you don’t have any further questions, we should...”

Before she finished speaking, Blake Leaf stood up recklessly, patted Su Changfeng on the shoulder, and casually plucked a few strands of her hair, holding them in his palm.

”What are you doing?!” Su Changfeng glared angrily at Blake Leaf, ”Keep your hands to yourself! This is my turf! I can call the police right away!”

”Why is Ms. Su in such a hurry?” Blake Leaf, having acquired the hair he wanted, suddenly calmed down again. With a hint of a smile, he folded his arms and said, ”Ms. Su, did you have a child before you got married?”

”Nonsense! You’re the one who had a child before marriage! You’re the one with a secret child!” Su Changfeng was furious, pushed Blake Leaf away fiercely, pointed at the door, and shouted, ”Get out! Leave my office now! Move it!”

”Why should I leave? Did I hit a sore spot with you?” Blake Leaf smiled slowly, but the smile seemed like a mask frozen on his face, never reaching his eyes.

His eyes were icy and frenzied, his lower eyelids even slightly red, appearing as though he was about to cry or throw a fit.

Seeing this expression on him, Su Changfeng was evidently bewildered for a moment.

She stared blankly at him as if looking right through him at someone else.

When Blake Leaf saw Su Changfeng like this, he felt he probably understood what she was feeling, and couldn’t help but ask, ”Did you give birth to a child twenty-two years ago? Back then, you just graduated from college, and your boyfriend left you. You gave birth to the child alone but couldn’t raise him yourself, so you... gave him away?”

Su Changfeng’s face turned completely dark.

She glared at Blake Leaf, her eyes full of fear.

Her lips, painted in bright red lipstick, kept quivering, and even her hands were trembling.

She wanted to speak but seemed unable to utter a single word.

Seeing her like this, Blake Leaf felt more and more that he had discovered the truth.

So that’s how it is.

The reason she abandoned him was that he was her illegitimate child!

As a newly graduated student, she likely couldn’t bear the strange looks from people.

Back then, being a single mother was a shocking act not accepted by society.

As an ordinary person, Su Changfeng naturally couldn’t escape social conventions either.

But even if she had to abandon him, couldn’t she have found a better family to raise him?

Why leave him at the doorstep of a disabled family?!

Tears welled up in Blake Leaf’s eyes as he spoke each word deliberately, ”...I’ve always wanted to ask, even if you couldn’t raise the child alone, why didn’t you send the child to an orphanage?!”

”Why did you leave me at a doorstep of such a family!”

Su Changfeng finally regained her composure, her gaze ice-cold, looking at Blake Leaf as if seeing not her abandoned illegitimate child but rather some enemy.

”I don’t know what you’re talking about. Get out! Immediately! Leave now!” She walked back to her desk and finally pressed the alarm at the corner of her desk.

Soon, the company’s security personnel along with the president’s secretary opened the president’s office door.

”Ms. Su, what happened?”

”Ms. Su, are you okay?!”

They pushed open the door to see Su Changfeng and Blake Leaf standing face-to-face in the spacious center of the office.

Blake Leaf held no weapon, just a mobile phone.

There seemed to be no danger that warranted calling in extra help.

Seeing her people arrive, Su Changfeng let out a breath and said coldly, ”This person broke into my office without permission and said many disrespectful things to me. Get him out! Now! Immediately!”

The security personnel rushed forward, grabbed Blake Leaf by his arms on both sides, and started dragging him out.

Unconcerned, Blake Leaf shouted, ”Su Changfeng! You gave birth to me and abandoned me! Does your conscience not ache?!”

The utter disregard from Su Changfeng completely outraged Blake Leaf.

He realized he likely couldn’t get this ’biological mother’ to acknowledge him.

This attitude—cold and akin to seeing an enemy—was more piercing than being mocked for being a child of disabled people.

She could have not loved him, could have not wanted him.

But why treat him as an enemy?!

Is this what it feels like to be hated by your ’biological mother’?

It’s as though someone had gouged out his guts, leaving him an ’empty-hearted person’.

The words Blake Leaf shouted in his ”greatest sorrow came not from grief but from heartache” moment suddenly created an uproar in the entire company.

Even the two security guards holding him instinctively loosened their grip.

If this young man really was the president’s illegitimate child, would they face trouble later for being disrespectful to him, something the president might remember?

There’s no overnight feud between parent and child, right?

The receptionist, upon hearing Blake Leaf’s words, felt an incredibly complex mix of emotions.

Wasn’t he a student of the Journalism Department at Yan University?

How did he become the illegitimate child abandoned by Ms. Su?!

Had she been used?

The receptionist wished she could shrink under the desk, avoiding being noticed by the president and the secretary.

At this moment, she didn’t want any attention!

Blake Leaf straightened his sleeves and loudly addressed the direction of the president’s office once more: ”You abandoned me twenty-two years ago. I don’t blame you. But you still won’t admit I’m your son...”

Suddenly, Su Changfeng stormed out of the office like the wind, slapped Blake Leaf hard on the face, and angrily shouted, ”Keep your mouth shut! You are not my son! I disown a son like you! —If you continue this nonsense, I’ll call the police to arrest you!”
