Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 104: Chapter 71: Big News (Part 2)

Kenneth Osborne watched those rainbow-flattering comments from fans about Lucas Harlow for a long time and also saw the video clips Lawrence Winters sent to Lucas Harlow.

How to put it, his acting might indeed be good, but Kenneth thought it was all for young girls to watch.

Kenneth likes hardcore steampunk sci-fi style, which doesn’t quite match his own image.

Despite his disdain, he still created a small Weibo account and followed Lucas Harlow’s super topic.

He planned to check in daily to see what these fans were up to and what activities were going on.

...

Lawrence Winters wasn’t sleeping at the moment but was on a video call with her uncle and mom.

”Lawrence, you have nothing going on today, right?” Nick Zeller frowned and asked, ”Your mom got suddenly worried about you tonight, so I did a reading and found you’d have a bloody disaster today!”

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

She lay on the bed, tilting her head, holding her chubby face, and said with a smile, ”Uncle, you’re amazing! I actually did have a bloody disaster today!”

”...Ah?! What happened to you? What happened?” Gabrielle Winters pushed Nick Zeller aside, asking anxiously, ”Quick, let mom see your arms and legs!”

Lawrence Winters sat up from the bed, showed her right elbow to them, and said pitifully on purpose, ”Look, I randomly tripped and fell today and hurt my arm!”

There was still a bruise on her fair arm, which was actually caused when someone bumped her, and she fell to the ground.

Of course, they didn’t need to know all the details.

Nick Zeller breathed a sigh of relief, poked his head out from behind Gabrielle Winters, and said, ”That’s good, that’s good. As long as it happened, it’s fine.”

Then he comforted Gabrielle Winters, ”You see, Gabrielle, Lawrence’s bloody disaster has already come true, so don’t worry unnecessarily.”

Gabrielle Winters patted her chest and said with a smile, ”I never thought the saying about a mother and daughter having a psychic connection was true.”

Lawrence Winters: ”!!!”

”Mom, what do you mean by that?! Are you saying we’re not biologically mother and daughter?!” Lawrence Winters let out a sky-shattering screech, startling the maniac girl in the next bed and the diva sister opposite.

Gabrielle Winters looked at her, half-laughing, half-crying: ”What nonsense are you thinking? Do you really need to ask if you are my biological child? When you were little, you once borrowed money from a neighbor to test DNA with my hair and your hair; what are you pretending now?”

Lawrence Winters laughed mischievously, touched her face, and said proudly, ”I’ve been a mischievous genius since childhood, Mom, Uncle, you both must have had a hard time, huh? Don’t you regret not sending me to an orphanage?”

When she said this, her spirit was beaming, and her eyes were astonishingly bright.

This vibrant spirit was impossible to fake.

Gabrielle Winters finally felt relieved, believing Lawrence Winters just had a simple fall.

She checked the time and said, ”It’s already late; you should sleep. Your uncle and I will return to Capital City in two weeks. Will you come home to stay for a few days then?”

”I can come home to eat, but I still like living in the school dormitory.” Lawrence Winters previously didn’t want to live in the school dorm, but now she was very much enjoying it.

Gabrielle Winters felt both comforted and bittersweet, slowly saying, ”That’s what a young girl’s life should be like; Lawrence, have a good time.”

Lawrence Winters nodded firmly, smiling more cutely: ”Yes! Mom, you take care, and you too, Uncle!”

Finally ending the video call, Lawrence Winters wiped the sweat off her forehead, trembling.

It was really too hot and too scary.

She only then saw the message Kenneth Osborne sent her, hurriedly replying: [Ken, my mom and uncle just video-called me to ask if anything happened to me. I told them I fell. Remember this! Don’t let them trick you into revealing the truth!”

Kenneth Osborne, about to head to the bathroom to shower, saw Lawrence Winters’ reply, felt even better, and immediately replied: [Got it, go to sleep,].

Lawrence Winters sent him a sticker.

But she didn’t go straight to bed; instead, she started watching the rescue video.

It had to be said that the situation was indeed very chaotic at the time; the footage was extremely shaky. She only saw that person was very tall, moved quickly, and must have been very strong.

Because they picked up someone as heavy as her in one swift move.

Watching herself in the video, Lawrence Winters suddenly worried about that person’s arms.

She looked kind of chubby in the video; hopefully, that person’s arm wasn’t broken?

She pinched her arm and then looked at the little dimples on the back of her hand, recalling being mocked by a celebrity’s fans today that Lucas Harlow only deserved fat fans. A sense of stubborn determination never before felt arose in her heart.

She was going to lose weight!

She had to lose weight!

To remind herself, Lawrence Winters dedicated an alarm on her phone.

Get up at six every day, exercise for an hour in the morning!

Lawrence Winters was actually very fond of sleeping and didn’t like exercising.

Otherwise, she wouldn’t weigh 126 pounds at the prime of her youth when metabolism is at its peak.

At her height of 168 cm, 126 pounds isn’t particularly heavy, but it’s definitely not thin.

And on camera, it looked really fat!

Lawrence Winters finally understood why celebrities have to lose weight—because the camera really adds pounds, ahhh!

To not embarrass the celebrity she stanned, Blue, Lawrence Winters decided to dedicate great determination to losing weight.

...

The next morning at six, the alarm sound from ”Datian Youngster” woke her up. Before the diva sister could get annoyed, Lawrence Winters quickly turned off her phone’s alarm, slipped quietly out of bed.

She found her Under Armor cherry blossom sportswear, which she had never worn, paired it with matching sneakers, and tied a headband around her forehead, she ran towards the lake outside the dorm area.

This was a route often run by students doing morning exercises.

Although Lawrence had never run this route herself, she had seen others run it while she cycled past.

On her first morning run, she was exhausted after only fifteen minutes; her lungs felt like they were burning, and for the first time, her throat felt too narrow to supply her with more oxygen.

Yes, she had already started breathing through her mouth; clearly, the nose wasn’t the organ meant for breathing during a run.

By the time she hit the half-hour mark, she could barely see the road ahead, much less the people beside her.

Joyce Shaw ran past her, then came back, stared at her for a while to confirm she hadn’t mistaken her, and then sent Kenneth Osborne a WeChat message: [Ken, big news! Your Lawrence is out here on a morning jog!].
