Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 140: Chapter 88: When Old Friends Meet as Strangers (Second Update, See Inside for a Surprise)

”But what about Su Changfeng’s mother? Why is there no information on Su Changfeng’s parents here?”

Three Billion Sister curved her mouth, sarcastically saying, ”Are you not only searching for your biological parents, but also trying to find your grandparents?”

”It’s such a pity, this is beyond my dad’s capabilities. Why don’t you go back and ask Lawrence to calculate another prediction?”

Blake Leaf blushed and quickly said, ”I didn’t mean that... I’m very grateful to Uncle Xi. Without you and Uncle Xi’s help, my search for my relatives wouldn’t have gone this smoothly.”

”I didn’t intend to find my grandparents; I was just curious and said it casually.”

As he said this, he looked at Su Changfeng’s address in C City several times, comparing it with the address Uncle Xi sent to his phone, and only after confirming they were identical did he put it back.

After leaving the household registration management center, Blake Leaf didn’t speak.

Three Billion Sister asked him, ”Do you want to go home and see your foster parents?”

Blake Leaf shook his head, ”I don’t want them to know I’m back.”

Three Billion Sister shrugged indifferently, ”Alright, then what do you plan to do next?”

”I don’t have much time. I want to buy a ticket to C City today and see... where Su Changfeng is buried.”

He couldn’t wait any longer, eager to fly to C City immediately to see his biological parents’ grave.

Three Billion Sister held the steering wheel, dazed for a moment, then said blandly, ”... You’ve really decided that your parents are already deceased?”

”... I’m not entirely sure, but what your roommate predicted before all turned out to be true.”

”It’s not really accurate either,” Three Billion Sister frowned, ”as you don’t have any substantial evidence yet.”

”I want to go to C City to find people who knew my parents and see if they have dental records. If I can get their dental records, I can verify DNA.” Blake Leaf said quietly, ”And your roommate said that I have a sister or a younger sister.”

”Have you taken him as a prophet, believing everything he says?”

”If what she says is correct, why wouldn’t I believe it?” Blake Leaf hadn’t slept the whole night and was now finally starting to feel tired.

But he couldn’t fall asleep, immediately going online to find tickets to C City and hotels there.

He didn’t have much money, and this sudden trip almost spent all the money he had saved from working over the last two years.

But he didn’t mind; as long as he could find clues about his biological parents, he would borrow money if needed to continue his search.

Blake Leaf looked at the flight information online and then checked the time, ”Two more hours, shall we leave now?”

”You check out, I’ll go back to get the luggage, and we’ll meet at the airport?” Three Billion Sister said decisively.

Blake Leaf agreed.

Three Billion Sister dropped him off near the hotel Blake Leaf booked in the city center, then drove back to her place.

When she got home, her father had disappeared again.

Three Billion Sister packed her things and went straight out.

After boarding the plane with Blake Leaf, she sent a WeChat message to her father: Dad, I’m going to C City with Blake Leaf, then back to school. I have an interview on Monday, no need to send me off.

Her father saw the WeChat message after their plane had already taken off.

Blake Leaf finally fell asleep on the plane.

Though it was just over two hours, he slept through the whole flight.

After the plane landed, it was Three Billion Sister who nudged him awake.

His eyes were bloodshot, yet his spirit was oddly excited.

The two got off the plane, called a taxi to the hotel Three Billion Sister had booked.

It was an economical hotel, moderately priced, not too expensive but not cheap either.

They each booked a room, checked in, and Blake Leaf immediately fell asleep again.

Three Billion Sister, holding her phone, booked the ticket back to school for the next afternoon and sent it to Blake Leaf’s phone.

Then, she sat in her own room, browsing the internet while waiting for Blake Leaf to wake up.

Blake Leaf didn’t wake up until the afternoon.

He got up, ate something hastily, then went with Three Billion Sister to find Su Changfeng’s address.

That address was from more than twenty years ago, so he didn’t expect to find it in one go.

Moreover, if Lawrence’s predictions were really accurate, Su Changfeng should have passed away more than twenty years ago.

Blake Leaf walked down the plane-tree-lined streets of C City, suddenly feeling a bit bewildered, not knowing what exactly he had come here to do.

Was it to verify the accuracy of Lawrence’s predictions?

Or to put a full stop to his three-year search?

Lost in thought, he absently reached the destination address where Su Changfeng had moved out more than twenty years ago.

And he was dumbfounded.

This was not a quiet and serene residential area, but a bustling and lively commercial district!

A street lined with high-end boutiques, flanked by international brands well known even to him.

Tiffany, Hermès, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and Balenciaga, along with many brands he couldn’t recognize.

Three Billion Sister laughed, ”Oh my, I need to buy a bag to calm myself down!” and walked into the Chanel flagship store.

As she stepped in, a chubby little round child rushed out and almost bumped into Three Billion Sister’s leg.

Startled, she was about to scold him, but when the child looked up, a face more adorable than a little girl appeared before her.

She was speechless.

On that face were big, glistening eyes that seemed to talk, staring at her, and suddenly, he smiled, showing two round dimples, and shouted, ”Someone’s stealing the baby! The baby’s in danger!”

Just then, a handsome and dashing young man appeared out of nowhere, extending his long arm, picked up the little child from the ground, and frowned slightly, ”Little rascal, being naughty again.”

”Uncle Little Blake, you’ve finally come to save the baby from the clutches of danger!” the little round child clung to the young man’s neck, shouting exaggeratedly and flatteringly.
