Daddy Always Gets Jealous

The little girl is amusing, it’s not bad to stay here recuperating for a while!

He had already sent a message to his older brother, and he believed a doctor would soon come to take special care of his injuries.

When she heard this, Fu Chengyang still scolded her!

Che Huan glared at Huo Jinnan for a long time, then realized that it was stupid of her to make facial expressions at a handsome blind man.

Two balanced and long legs swung on the parallel bars, swaying while eating ice cream and watching the handsome guy.

After smoking two cigarettes, Huo Jinnan looked in Che Huan’s direction, ”Hasn’t your classmate come to look for you?”

Che Huan, ”No.”

Huo Jinnan lit a third cigarette, ”You don’t contact them?”

Che Huan pouted, ”I can’t.”

Huo Jinnan said softly, ”I have a cellphone.”

Che Huan smiled and took a big bite of ice cream, ”They don’t.”

Huo Jinnan’s brow furrowed, ”You don’t call home?”

”...”

Che Huan looked somewhat downcast but did not speak.

An orphan?

Huo Jinnan’s eyes wavered slightly, but he did not ask, sensing that her breathing had weakened, he could no longer hear it.

After a while, the girl’s clear singing voice suddenly came through.

”Every time it’s a display of strength amidst loneliness,

Every time, even when hurt, tears never glisten bright,

I know that I always have an invisible pair of wings,

Carrying me to fly,

Flying over despair,

Never pondering about their possession of a beautiful sun,

I see that every day’s sunset also undergoes changes,

......”

Che Huan’s singing was moving, and Huo Jinnan listened intently.

After finishing, Che Huan sat there, looking in Huo Jinnan’s direction, silent, watching his life of privilege, she presumed he couldn’t understand her troubles.

Huo Jinnan said softly, ”Little girl, acting like an old soul.”

Che Huan pouted unsatisfied, ”How old are you to call me little girl?”

”Older than you.”

Huo Jinnan twisted the cigarette with his long fingers, his voice enchantingly ringing out.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Thirty?”

Huo Jinnan, ”No.”

Che Huan observed his mature demeanor, ”Twenty-five?”

”Not that old.”

Huo Jinnan took another drag on his cigarette, then stubbed it out, ”What time is it?”

Che Huan shook her head, ”I don’t know.”

Huo Jinnan, ”No watch?”

Che Huan thought about how even her tuition fees were contingent on others’ moods, where would she get the spare money to buy a watch, ”No.”

She looked at Huo Jinnan, the sunlight refracting and falling on him, unexpectedly making him quite a sight.

”What do you actually do? A cop?”

Huo Jinnan, ”No.”

Che Huan remembered that the police had come to her for a statement yesterday; the people who died seemed to be drug traffickers. If he were one, wouldn’t he have been arrested? He wouldn’t be here safely recuperating!

”Undercover?”

Huo Jinnan looked up, eyeing Che Huan’s direction, ”Clever.”

”Thanks for the compliment, uncle.”

Che Huan smiled, hopped off the bars, and took the two ice cream wrappers to throw away, noticing Huo Jinnan holding three cigarette butts and some plastic wrap torn from the box, ”Give them to me, I’ll throw them in the trash.”

Huo Jinnan uttered a ”thank you” and handed them to Che Huan.

Che Huan quickly ran off after catching them.

Huo Jinnan leaned back, listening to the girl’s footsteps, feeling unusually good.

Suddenly, the cellphone rang.

He groped to answer and heard his brother’s voice, ”Uh, I won’t come back for now, wouldn’t it be good to let Zhan Hui have his fun for a couple of days?”

On hearing Huo Jindong asking about his condition, Huo Jinnan spoke softly, ”The injury is not hindering, just some external wounds causing blindness. Just send over a doctor, and remember to bring my camera along.”
