Daddy Always Gets Jealous

The soldier pulled up the video.

Huo Jinnan gripped Qin Huan’s hand tightly, his eyes fixed on the screen.

At the moment the fighter jet crashed, Qin Huan clearly felt the grip on her hand tighten.

She bit her lip, not daring to look at him, only holding onto his large palm firmly, feeling it grow gradually colder, trying hard to warm it.

Huo Jinnan stared intently, his thin lips pressed together, sharp as a blade.

Qin Huan felt somewhat breathless and looked at Huo Qichang to one side, who was standing there, looking even worse than Huo Jinnan.

In fact, he cared about his wife and son, but some burdens weighed so heavily on him that he didn’t choose to protect his family.

Huo Qichang, seeing Qin Huan looking at him, had an unnatural expression on his face, turned away, and then realized his eyes were moist.

Adong—

I’m sorry, son. Your father isn’t a good husband, nor a good father!

Now, he isn’t a good son either, and he no longer wishes to be a good son. He wants to be a good father, a good husband, but they no longer give him the chance.

......

Huo Jinnan watched the video several times; it was impossible for anyone to have survived. Besides, he was the first one on the scene, and he found no survivors, only charred remains.

Qin Huan watched as well, and she also felt it was unlikely, as the plane had exploded soon after crashing!

After watching, Huo Jinnan squeezed Qin Huan’s hand and silently left.

Huo Qichang watched their retreating figures, closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and hurried forward a few steps, ”Jinnan.”

Huo Jinnan stopped, turned back to look at Huo Qichang, ”Commander Huo.”

Hearing those three words, Huo Qichang felt a pang of pain in his chest, ”How has your mother been lately?”

Huo Jinnan’s voice was cold, ”Very well.”

Huo Qichang watched Huo Jinnan for a while, ”Could I... could I send something to her?”

Huo Jinnan, ”You’re sending it?”

”...”, Huo Qichang didn’t say anything, just nodded.

Huo Jinnan asked in a low voice, ”What is it?”

Huo Qichang, ”A piece of clothing.”

Huo Jinnan looked at Huo Qichang with a deep gaze, ”Okay.”

Not expecting his consent, Huo Qichang’s eyes flickered, ”It’s at my dormitory. I’ll go fetch it, I’ll be quick.”

Seeing him trot away, Qin Huan looked up at Huo Jinnan.

Huo Jinnan stood there, wrapping his arms tightly around Qin Huan, ”The person he owes the most in this lifetime is my mother. It was his choice; there’s nothing worthy of sympathy. Everyone has to pay the price for their actions.”

Qin Huan didn’t say anything, her heart just ached for Zhong Qin.

Zhong Qin had been so kind to her, and she wished that Zhong Qin could have a better life. Although having children around was good, it could never replace the companionship of a husband.

Half an hour later, Huo Qichang walked briskly over and handed a package to Huo Jinnan, finally catching his breath.

Huo Jinnan took it, glancing down at it.

Huo Qichang looked at Qin Huan, ”Be careful on your way back.”

Qin Huan responded.

Huo Qichang looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Drive slowly.”

Huo Jinnan glanced at Huo Qichang, not knowing what to say, and turned to Qin Huan, ”Let’s go.”

Huo Qichang stood there, watching the two get into the car, his gaze fixed on them until the car drove out of the military district, still looking in that direction.

Commissar Zhang came out and saw it, patting Huo Qichang’s shoulder, ”Old Huo, Jinnan is still unwilling—”

He didn’t want to mention Jindong; if it hadn’t been for Jindong’s accident, the military district wouldn’t have lost so many good soldiers!

Huo Qichang looked at Commissar Zhang and nodded.

Commissar Zhang, ”Why did Jinnan come back to look at the fighter jet?”
