Daddy Always Gets Jealous

Huo Jinnan heard the girl’s uneven breathing and guessed something; he stood there and reminded Che Huan in a low voice, ”Let’s go.”

Coming back to her senses, Che Huan grabbed his sleeve and walked toward the direction of the ward.

Soon, they arrived at the door of his hospital room.

She looked at him: he couldn’t see the door, could he?

Guiding him inside, she led him to the bedside, ”This is the bed. Lie down and rest; I am going back to my room.”

No sooner had she finished speaking than Che Huan quickly fled!

Back in her room and thinking about taking a grown man to the men’s restroom, her heart was ”thumping” wildly!

She patted her chest and took a deep breath before she felt much better.

Lying in bed and curling up into a ball, she thought of all those corpses and couldn’t help but shrink tighter, unable to sleep at all.

Suddenly, she heard the door creak, and looking up, she saw a little dark head poking in and whispered, ”Little one, come here.”

The small creature hopped and scurried onto Che Huan’s bed, crawling into her arms.

Che Huan looked at the small creature, ”Don’t leave, I’m scared; it’s all because of you.”

The small creature wagged its tail.

Che Huan held the small creature and peacefully fell asleep.

That night, she dreamt she was taking him to the restroom, and he even unreasonably asked her to undo his belt—

Waking from the dream, it was still not light outside. Thinking about the dream, she rubbed her cheeks and glanced in the direction of the next room: he didn’t seem like that kind of person, more like he had a sense of decency!

What an absurd dream!

Sensing something stirring in her arms, she looked down to see the small creature. She reached out, touching its little head, ”You little rascal.”

The small creature made a noise and stretched out, finding a more comfortable position.

Che Huan looked toward the adjoining room. His dog was really cute. Suddenly, she remembered he had been shot, his arm must have just been operated on. Didn’t he care about possibly crippling it with his careless movement?

...

The next day, as soon as Che Huan awoke, she heard the nurse’s voice.

”Young lady, Mr. Fu is asking for you.”

Che Huan looked up at the nurse, ”Mr. Fu?”

With a smile, the nurse said, ”That’s the patient in the next room.”

Che Huan let out an ”Oh” and climbed down from her bed. Without the chance to brush her teeth, she washed her face in the water room and, holding the small creature, went to Huo Jinnan’s room. She saw him lying in bed with breakfast placed beside him.

Hearing the familiar footsteps, Huo Jinnan looked in Che Huan’s direction, ”I can’t move my arm. Feed me breakfast. The one beside is for you; eat yours first, then feed me.”

”...”

Che Huan looked at the man. She wasn’t a nurse, and even if he didn’t want others to know he was blind, he couldn’t keep treating her as a nurse, could he?

Plus, nurses don’t feed patients, do they?

Glancing at Huo Jinnan, she stood still.

The nurse beside her gave her a nudge, ”Aren’t you going to feed him? Mr. Fu is so handsome. Even if we want to feed him, he won’t eat from us.”

Che Huan’s face turned red, and before she could speak, she was already pushed to the bedside.

”I’ll... I’ll feed you first.”

She sat there, picked up the lotus seed soup, and fed Huo Jinnan, spoonful by spoonful.

Huo Jinnan cooperated and ate, while the small creature watched from the side.

Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, not expecting his eating to be so good looking as well! Luckily, he was blind and she could watch him without restraint, not worrying about him knowing, so she didn’t have to be too shy.

It was his own fault for being so handsome!

When he finished eating, Che Huan looked at Huo Jinnan, ”Your surname is Fu?”

Listened to the girl’s voice, Huo Jinnan found it very pleasant, comfortable, and a rare delight, ”Yes, Fu Chengyang. What’s your name?”
