Chapter 1943: Meteor Shower for Our Heroes

Grand General Marko was holding the sword in his chest, his eyes moved to the back, looking at the Chevalier Guild Master, ”The monarchy might overlook what Benedict did, but they will not overlook what you did, Guild Master Justen.”

His voice was heavy and hoarse as if he was going to run out of breathing soon, and then he coughed up blood.

”Why? You already have everything. You are a Guild Master, what do you get from doing this?”

”Lord Benedict promised me to confer a noble title to me if I help me. I am no longer Guild Master Justen, but Count Justen of the Sorcerer Monarchy. Doesn’t that sound better, Sir Marko?” Justen smiled broadly as he would become a noble soon.

The Eptas Monarchy was quite tight with their requirement to be nobles. Most nobles gained their titles and land through several generations of effort. Marko who served the Chevalier Monarchy for years as a Grand General was not noble, but he was laying his foundation for his future descendants because he would not be able to get the title and land in his time as it required a big achievement.

He could understand Marko’s train of thoughts of betraying him, but then he looked at Benedict on the wall. The manic grin on the late Sorcerer Monarch’s eldest son showed him something that Justen could not see.

”You are being deceived, Justen. You will not get your title the moment you betrayed me. By betraying me, you don’t have any choice but to stay and follow Benedict. He puts a leash on you so he can control you. The Mercenary Guild will kick you out, and no monarchy will accept you when they know your history. You don’t have a choice but to stay and follow Benedict like his pet.”

Marko laughed when he came to this realization. It caused him to choke on his blood and cough heavily. He was happy knowing what Justen’s fate was. Justen would suffer instead of achieving his goal to be a noble, suffer, and be humiliated for the rest of his life.

”Lord Benedict would not do that to me...” Justen lost his confidence the more he spoke.

If he achieved his goal of killing Grand General Marko and Grand General Senton and was known to the world. No one would accept him even though he was a God Rank. The Dominion and the Sacred Kingdom would not even take him, and the only place for him to live was the Sorcerer Monarchy. Benedict did not need to reward him for him to stay in the Sorcerer Monarchy anymore because he did not have any place to go.

”You still... can fix... this... Justen...”

Gianni did not think about killing the four God Ranks that he was supposed to duel when all these things happened. It wasn’t until Tang Shaoyang reminded him that he got the chance to do it again. The four God Ranks just gave him a justification to kill them the moment they betrayed Albin.

The seven spears immediately appeared and moved toward his back as he approached the four God Ranks. Heron was the first one to notice Gianni’s approach. He pushed the sword further, causing Albin’s neck to bleed.

”I will kill him if you come closer!”

The three God Ranks immediately alerted and put their focus on Gianni. They were all tensed up because they were not expecting Gianni to interfere. They thought Gianni would leave them alone because Albin was also Gianni’s enemy.

Gianni smiled, ”You can kill him. I don’t care about him, but I do care about killing you. That’s the only way to subside my anger, and it would be best if you killed Albin as well. So I don’t have to dirty my hand to kill that worm.”

He grabbed the spear on his back and threw it toward Heron. The throw was so powerful that the spear disappeared from sight with how fast it was. No one could see the spear’s movement, and the next thing they heard was a clanking sound.

Heron managed to raise his sword and block the spear in time. The spear bounced back toward Gianni, but Heron’s body flew backward and crashed onto the wall. His body went past through the thick wall, creating a hole in the wall.

The spectators were still amazed at how Gianni overpowered the people of the same rank. However, Zico, Patrick, and Oliver were aware that they could not look away from Gianni if they wanted to survive. Despite their full attention on Gianni, they saw with their own eyes how Gianni disappeared from their sight just like the first spear. However, the seven spears remained on the spot instead of following Gianni.

The three God Ranks panicked. Oliver, who was the weakest among the four God Ranks, turned around and decided to flee on his own, using the two God Ranks as bait. That was the plan, the best scenario for him to survive.

”You fool! We should fight him together to survive!” Zico yelled at Oliver.

”No! You can’t survive even if you work together!” Gianni appeared between them, and he used his Bloodline Transformation, transforming into a lion beastmen with a dark violet mane around his neck and black fur. His eyes were completely red, and he grew one meter taller as well.

The moment Zico and Patrick turned away from the floating spears, the spears flew toward them at incredible speed. They were so panicked with Gianni’s sudden appearance that they did not sense the incoming spear. Before they could do anything, their visions blacked.

A spear pierced Zico and Patrick’s heads, killing them instantly. They did not even know how they died, and everyone who watched the battle drew a deep breath. The ranked third and sixth of the Sorcerer Monarchy’s God Rank list died tragically, not being able to fight back. It was like watching an Epic Rank fighting a God Rank. That was what it looked like from the spectator’s view.

Gianni disappeared again and appeared again, this time he brought a body in his hand, Heron’s body with a big hole in his chest. The first rank in the list also died.

The last God Rank, Oliver thought he would make it to the wall. He ran and jumped to the wall. The wall was right before him, in his reach, and he thought he would be safe the moment his feet landed on the wall. However, he felt an excruciating pain in his chest without realizing it. It was so painful, and he looked down on his chest.

A familiar spear pierced him from the back and hit his heart. His eyes widened in shock, and he thought he would be fine with such a wound because the Sorcerer Monarchy would have the healing potion to solve his problem. However, a huge force pulled his left ankle and threw him to the ground. It went with a boom.

Oliver was face-planted to the ground with a spear on his chest. He tried to use his last ounce of strength to activate his Bloodline Transformation, but as if something weird happened to him the skill wouldn’t listen to him. He could not use the skill, and he did not know why.

He coughed heavily as dust entered his throat and pushed himself to turn around. He lay on the ground, and he saw the spear’s long shaft as the dust slowly subsided. The moment he could not use his skill, he realized that he was dying.

He let out a chuckle as he coughed even harder with a realization in his head. This happened because of his greed, trying to curry favor with the second young lord to get a better position. He thought beating a lowly mercenary was not a big deal, and he found out the extreme way that mercenary was scarier than he thought. Then his vision blackened, and Oliver died next to the three God Ranks.

Gianni brought the four bodies to Tang Shaoyang, and Tang Shaoyang took the body with him. A God Rank’s body was a precious material for his summoning. He had been making quite a lot of sacrifices.

The fight was over in less than two minutes, and four God Ranks fell in front of everyone sending chills to their spines. They watched what Gianni was capable of, and everything started to make sense of how Volans could win against the Dominion Army.

With this battle over, everyone turned toward Grand General Senton and Grand General Marko. Everyone thought both would die for sure, but they were surprised to find Guild Master Justen and his people tended to the two Grand Generals, giving them a healing potion to quicken the healing.

Grand General Marko and Grand General Senton were alive. It was something they did not expect to see, especially for Benedict. His face turned red and crunched with fury.

”What are you doing, Guild Master Justen! Don’t you want your title and land? Kill them right now!” Benedict hollered from the wall, but the Guild Master turned deaf to Benedict’s words. He stood there with his people, protecting the two Grand Generals along with the people from the two monarchies.

”Since you have made your choice, then don’t blame me for being heartless, Justen!” Benedict raised his right hand and motioned forward, signaling his people to attack, ”Kill them all! Leave no survivors!”

He specifically pointed toward Gianni, the scariest individual among all the people in front of him. He must kill Gianni if he wants to ensure his position because Gianni worked for Volans.

Twenty-two Sorcerer God Ranks used a familiar spell, Meteor. They created more than fifty meteors, falling down toward Gianni.

”The Dominion could never take the city even if they reached here! Since you have helped me to take care of them, then I will show you how powerful the Sorcerer Monarchy is. This is my appreciation for you all! A meteor shower for our heroes!”
