Chapter 1937: Hero (1)

The five lizardmen returned to the previous floor, the manor given to them by the kingdom after doing a big favor for the kingdom as part of the reward. The five lizardmen looked a bit nervous about what happened in the battle earlier. They kept it calm to calm the others, but they were nervous deep inside when the camp was ambushed.

”Do you think thatʼs the floor boss? No, there should be no floor boss on that floor!” The green-scaled lizardmen asked as he looked for a chair to calm his nerves.

”And whatʼs with that wyvern? How can a wyvern grow that powerful?” The second green-scaled lizardmen broke out as well following his friend. It was nerve-wracking for them, and they did not expect to encounter such a situation on that floor.

”Thereʼs also a Behemoth there. I donʼt know if the System would put a calamity inside the tower? Isnʼt this the first time a calamity appeared in the tower? Not just one, but a lot of them! Donʼt tell me the Void Cult has breached into our tower?” The third green-scaled lizardmen added

They all knew what a dragon looked like, and they knew the massive creature they saw was not a dragon like the natives claimed to be. It was a wyvern, and for a wyvern to reach that size and to be that powerful. They just could not imagine how powerful the master was.

There was also a behemoth, the infamous type of calamity. It was one of the rarest Calamity in the universe, and they met one inside the dimensional tower. They did not question their leaderʼs decision when he told them to retreat.

”Do you think that person is a player like us?” The fourth green-scaled lizardman was more composed than his peers. He thought the situation rationally and guessed the God Rank that killed Gunnar and the commander of the Dominion Army was a player like them.

”I would like to believe thatʼs the case,” The blue-scaled lizardman, Marman, agreed they might be facing a player, a ridiculously strong player at that.

”Do we have any information that a vassal of a big faction is part of our dimensional tower? They might be looking for the clearance reward for this tower just like us.”

”We donʼt have any information for other cities yet. It will take a long time to find information about the factions from the other cities. Our people have found three cities, but thereʼs no particular big name yet,” The fourth green-scaled lizardmen, Strekh replied.

”What should we do, Sir Marman? Do we go back and investigate that person? We can disguise ourselves as mercenaries and visit the Sorcerer Monarchy,” Strekh added.

”If he is a player, we can find out where he is from. If he is not a player, then we will need to gather our people to kill that guy. I believe we will get a lot of rewards from killing that boss if he is a native.” The third lizardmen calmed down and offered his thoughts.

”No! Letʼs avoid him for now whether he is a player or a native. Letʼs wait for the situation to cool down then we will return to the 22th floor. Maybe two days or three days to be safe. We will know if he is a player or not if we meet him again on a higher floor.”

Marman made up his mind to avoid the scary enemy, but he had not given up their main objective to be the first one to reach and clear the 50th floor.

”Even if he is a player from a big faction, then we will show that person that no one could take what belongs to Thogarak!”

22th floor

Volans Marelli Forest watched everything from the cliff. His vision was not as sharp as his grandfatherʼs, he could pick some details from where he was. This was far from a battle, this was a one-sided slaughter.

His eyes remained glued to the giant creatures in the sky and on the land. The two most stood out creatures that caused massive destruction to the Dominion Army. He did not know where all these creatures were coming from, but then he was reminded of his first meeting with Tang Shaoyang.

The mercenary summoned creatures out of thin air, and he remembered the mercenary told him there were more, but did not summon them because it might break his residence. He did not believe the guy at that time, but there was no reason not to believe him when he was presented with this scene.

The young lord tried to find where Tang Shaoyang was, but he was simply too far away that he could not see anything clearly.

His grandfather had a similar expression or even worse. Blaise Osmond could see the battle more clearly, seeing more details than his grandson. He saw how each creature swept the soldiers as if they were just like low-level mobs.

Just like his grandson, Blaise also looked for Tang Shaoyang on the chaotic battlefield. He found Tang Shaoyang, and he witnessed the fight. He recognized the beastmen except for the five lizardmen. The Commander of the Dominion, the Destroyer, Zilgard.

The old man was quite nervous because Tang Shaoyang was facing eleven God Ranks. He guessed the five lizardmen were also a God Rank since they stood equal with those high-rank Commander and Generals.

That was when the fight broke, and it happened so quickly. He was entranced by the fight, and not even a minute passed, his eyes bulged out, wide open as he saw Tang Shaoyang kill Zilgard and his two Generals. That happened so fast that he almost had not fully processed the fight in his head.

”You are quite lucky that your brother did not make him so angry that he wants to destroy your monarchy.”

Blaise Osmond snapped out when he heard that from Nikolasʼ mouth. He looked at the night who looked smug, and then he turned toward the battlefield. He realized the truth behind Nikolasʼ words. The Sorcerer Monarchy was quite lucky that Benedict and Albin did not anger Tang Shaoyang to point out that the mercenary wanted to destroy the monarchy just like how they destroyed the Dominion Army right now.

Volans also quickly came to a realization and could not refute what Nikolas said. Then he recalled his interaction with Tang Shaoyang, and his face went pale instantaneously. He called Tang Shaoyang a madman, and he scolded Tang Shaoyang, yelling at Tang Shaoyang.

”Master is merciless to his enemy, but he will not unreasonably destroy your kingdom over trivial matters. Just donʼt cross his line, then you should be fine because,” Ruben reassured the young lord.

”Whatʼs the line!?” Both grandfather and grandson asked simultaneously.

Ruben blinked eyes, then he frowned, then he shook his head, ”I donʼt know. Find out for yourself.”

Tang Shaoyang expected some fightback from the players. The players should be stronger than the natives and have a mixture of anticipation and excitement to fight strong people. They betrayed his expectations as the five lizardmen ran away, and he did not know where they ran to. They might return to the first floor, or they might be out of the tower.

He had no way to chase after them. The excitement and anticipation turned into disappointment. The remaining God Ranks also fled, but he was not in the mood to chase them.

”Letʼs end this faster and go to the next floor!”

Tang Shaoyang then summoned the Skelly Family and also the Skeleton Army. They moved without his order, and the skeletons were always more well-organized than the spirits as they had a commander.

He stood in the middle of the battlefield, watching everything with Chaos Eyes that gave a birdʼs view to ensure there was nothing wrong, nothing suspicious. Everything went smoothly, and he let out a sigh. A bit disappointed that he was not able to get a good fight.

He did not mind fighting the God Ranks from the Dominion as well, but they fled after he killed three of them. He did not enjoy hunting the people who were too afraid to fight him. It was different than a hunting beast or the calamity because the beast and the calamity would fight back, but not this kind of people.

They would do their best to think of a way to escape, so he could not get them to fight with them all. They fought to look for an escape, not fighting with their life at stake. It would be easier to kill because they would leave many openings for him.

Tang Shaoyang stood with his eyes closed, the sun rose and the battle was not over yet. It had been more than seven hours. It was more like the Dominion had not given up yet. After the chaotic ambush, the Dominion spread out and tried to escape, but in a few hours, they regrouped and tried to fight back.

It would be over by now if his spirits went all out from the start, but just like him, they were seeking enjoyment as well in the fight. They let the Dominion Army regroup and fought back. The spirits made it look like the Dominion Army almost killed them, but in fact, they fell into his spiritsʼ play to commit the fight even after losing a lot of people.

Another three hours passed, and the spirits and the skeleton finished the battle. The Skeleton Army lost a bit of their skeleton army as a few God Ranks managed to break into the formation and kill them.

They were the first ones to return to Tang Shaoyang and asked to summon more skeleton soldiers. He harvested a lot of souls and used them to summon more skeletons. Not just recouping the loss, but he added another five thousand skeleton soldiers. He gave the commander of the Skeleton Army, Skelly1 to pick their evolutions.

Then the spirits returned with their loot, bringing the God Rank beastmenʼs dead bodies for him. The battle was over, they destroyed the camp and annihilated the Dominion Army. There were a lot that escaped, but there were more that died in this battle.

Volans followed by Nikolas, Ruben and Blaise Osmond were coming over after they found out the battle was over. The bewilderment was obvious on the grandfather and grandsonʼs face, and so did their subordinates.

They were still in disbelief that they managed to destroy the Dominion before they could reach the capital.

”We won…” Blaise Osmond said in a low voice. There was no excitement or happiness in his voice from winning, but more like a shock and bafflement.

”What should we do now?” Volans asked Tang Shaoyang.

Tang Shaoyang looked at the young lord, then he scanned the supposed one thousand elite soldiers under Volansʼ command.

”We still need some work in appearance,” His figure blurred as he said that and appeared in front of Volans. He punched Volansʼ in the belly, and the young lord bent his body forward in pain and also in shock, not expecting the mercenary would attack him. Then another punch landed on his cheek and sent him flying, crashing to the ground, rolling on the charred and bloody ground.

Volans immediately stood as he formed a barrier around him, and then he looked at Tang Shaoyang, ”Why are you attacking me!?” he yelled in anger as he felt the throbbing pain on his belly and also his face.

Not just him, but everyone else was shocked by what they witnessed. They froze as they did not know what to do.

”As I said, we need to do some work for your appearance. Who would believe that you kill all these people when your robe and face are clean? We can return with all of you looking clean like this,” Tang Shaoyang raised his hand and signaled his spirits to move, ”Itʼs your job, beat them up. I donʼt care how hard you beat them as long as you donʼt kill them.”

Then he turned toward Blaise Osmond and the soldiers, ”You can fight back as well, that would make it look natural.”

For the next hour, exactly one hour, his spirits beat the soldiers, and of course, no one died. It would be more believable if they lost half of them, and that was the original plan. However, Tang Shaoyang was becoming impatient and handled everything by himself instead of letting the others join him in the fight.

If Volansʼ elite soldiers joined the fight, they were bound to lose some people or they would lose the majority of their soldiers. That was what was in mind, but Tang Shaoyang became impatient and did the work by himself.

Volans, Blaise Osmond, and the other God Ranks, including the soldiers, were on the ground after an hour. Some of them were dying, but Tang Shaoyang threw them the healing potion to get them back quickly. They were trying to fight back, but their effort was futile.

”You!” Tang Shaoyang picked one random God Rank out of the twenty-two God Ranks, ”Go back to the city and deliver the news!”

They became more obedient after the beating as the man immediately turned around and left. He did not even question the decision anymore.
