Armed Train in the Apocalypse

”Crunch...”

The metallic outer shell of a transport vehicle, buried under collapsed snow, suddenly trembled.

The Wolf King’s narrow vertical pupils rapidly contracted, a low growl of retreat issued from its throat, as the wolf pack retreated, they looked around in confusion, without finding the source of danger.

Without any warning, metal spikes fiercely shot out from the snow, like earth spikes, radiating outward from the convoy at their core. In the face of this rapid assault, even Tier Two wolf beasts couldn’t react in time and were pierced on the spot.

Caught off guard, only a few Tier Three could respond, either quickly retreating or using sharp teeth to bite through steel.

The sound of beast roars and tearing flesh resounded, as if a flower of blood bloomed on the snow plain.

Not until they spread out over hundreds of meters did the metal spikes slowly retract, squeezing and embedding the metal within the dead wolf bodies in mid-air, hot blood dripped on the snow plain. The metal solidified into a man-eating flower, the spine-chilling spikes opening and closing with a piercing friction sound, pointing in the direction of the Wolf King.

Two intangible rules collided in mid-air, refusing to give way to each other.

Even the dullest person realized, Master Eight had arrived!

With the first reckless shout, cheers erupted one after another. Normally, Lao Er would surely drag the person out for a good beating for such unruly clamor, but right now, he was too lazy to stop it.

The people on the rooftop also breathed a sigh of relief, Huayang said helplessly, ”Master Eight sure is popular!”

Then he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted in a changed voice, ”Master Eight, I love you!”

Su Han’s eyebrows and eyelids twitched, ”Childish!”

The latter was indifferent, ”Though it might be a bit disgraceful, the other side is still Master Eight, there’s no shame.”

A figure enveloped in a metal storm swiftly approached, in an instant, metal debris covered half the battlefield. A straight-backed youth stood in mid-air, eyes like metal ingots, coldly gazed at the wolf pack below.

A thunderous shout came from afar, ”Little one, your Uncle He Jie is here to rescue you!”

Then, a shield the size of a door flew over, compressing the air with a sound like a cannonball firing, followed closely by a robust, non-human figure falling into the wolf pack. The Tier Two wolf beast at the forefront was directly smashed into a pulp, Liang Kuan stood up and twisted his neck, silently charged the wolf pack.

A snowmobile followed closely behind, He Jie stood at the back carrying two anti-aircraft machine guns, Mountain Goat desperately pushed his body forward.

Three years had passed, he still hadn’t broken through to Tier Two, his combat power was insignificant on the vehicle, but as a driver, he was quite competent. He could tell where the snow layers held pressure, where they would collapse.

This enabled him to travel alongside the furious He Jie, following Master Eight and Liang Kuan.

Behind them, trailed are eight hundred evolvers of the Armed Corps.

Overwhelming firepower rained towards the wolf pack like a storm, each bullet seemed to have eyes, allowing Liang Kuan’s frontal assault.

The arrival of He Jie and others was like pouring a ladle of water onto hot oil, the battlefield boiled again.

The Wolf King let out a long howl, part of the wolf pack bypassed the Tier Four main battlefield, marching towards He Jie’s repose force, while it leapt mid-air towards Master Eight, to be met by an already prepared metal storm.

Having mastered the [Metal] rule in the Rust Area, Xiaoba quickly advanced, rising to the Tier Four ”Iron Wall Lord” the year after Su Huan left. He could directly extract metal to construct massive defensive fortresses from organisms of lower rank than him as well as from the strata.

The strength of the metal wielded by him, collapsed repeatedly, had long surpassed any known metal.

Moreover, because it’s in Xiaoba’s hands, breaking it means suppressing Xiaoba’s metal rule, tantamount to creating a conceptual substance.

In the absence of Tier Five, Xiaoba’s ability was considered the strongest surface defense, hence no force dared plot against the train for three years. Any metal casually attached to it was like putting on a layer of permanent armor.

The storm of metal fragments formed was even more terrifying.

The wolf pack approaching the Tier Four battlefield was like objects hit by a sandblast, in an instant their skin split to reveal internal bones and organs, then they gradually disappeared, no trace of blood could be seen on the snow layers.

Only the Wolf King at the very center remained unaffected, like a meteor cloaked in moonlight, it charged relentlessly at the iron wall.

”Boom!”

Under Xiaoba’s serious gaze, sharp wolf claws tore through the iron wall in front of him, while the Wolf King, enveloped in rule power, broke free from the metal and viciously lunged at him.

Xiaoba gathered a huge metal hammer with a backhand, pounding at the wolf’s head.

Metal bursts echoed like thunder.

The Wolf King was momentarily halted.

”Density Cage!”

Xiaoba stretched out his hand, drove metal purification with full force, rapidly creating a cage of metal that had undergone repeated ”collapse” and enveloped the Wolf King, quickly reducing in size.

Each reduction in size, the rule power of [Metal] on the cage increased in concentration.

Usually, when he used this skill, whether it be buildings or organisms, they would ultimately be compressed into a small piece of high-density material. But facing this Tier Four Lord Level Wolf King he had trapped, Xiaoba felt no joy.

Lords possess an additional domain skill compared to ordinary Tier Four beings.

From its appearance until now, the Wolf King ahead of him had merely utilized partial rule power to protect itself, never once using a skill.

Through the metal bars, those icy beast eyes showed neither anger nor embarrassment, their calmness was uncharacteristic of a beast, more human-like.

As if answering Xiaoba’s doubt, the wind and snow disturbed by war and abilities roared once more!

Temperatures of minus seventy or eighty degrees rapidly plunged, snowstorm striking the frosty metal, ice blossoms spread rapidly, the storm covered the forms of both man and wolf, only two pairs of equally icy eyes confronted across the cage.

The Density Cage’s contraction was also blocked by unknown rule power.

The storm was its lord domain!

Dragging it out, relying on terrifying low temperatures could kill the humans here!

To crack it, Xiaoba had to understand the opponent’s rule, or mimic the train conductor of yore and brute-force resist the opponent’s rule, punching them to death with an unreasonable body!

But...

Comparing his own and the Wolf King’s physical defenses, Xiaoba sank deeper internally.

His ability was not adept at killing.

At that moment, two Tier Four auras simultaneously burst into Xiaoba’s perception range, even the Wolf King turned to look.

Vision penetrated through layers of snowstorm, Xiaoba saw the figures on the fringe.

A grievously injured woman carried half a man, sprinting towards the battlefield center. Not upper and lower halves but left and right, more accurately half a piece. Feeling the gaze, they both looked towards Xiaoba in mid-air.

Still alive.

Memory flowed into mind from the corner at once, coincidentally, Xiaoba knew them both.

The culprits behind this beast tide, Archbishop Ah Duo and Dragon Gate Cheng Zhan.

Seeing Xiaoba, the woman’s run quickened.

Despite being two newly added forces, Xiaoba’s heart grew gloomier, not due to their injuries, Tier Four doesn’t die easily, but because of them... more troublesome entities arrived.

To the south, a small convoy was driven in by a group of white-haired ape-men, Tier Four white apes playfully followed behind the convoy, their scarlet eyes gazed at Xiaoba, licking their tongues hungrily.

To the north, ice hydras slithered on the snow surface like dragons, their thick bodies carved terrifying marks on the ground, moving fast despite seeming slow. Their tongues curled, swallowing a Changbai Pharmaceutical armed personnel, man and vehicle, whole.

More striking was the layer of snow rising in five-meter wide banks like something gigantic was swimming beneath.

Xiaoba looked at Fatty Ge, emerging from the carriage and waving to him, his expression confused yet puzzled, ”Are you... here for extra meals?”

[Miscalculated, the train conductor won’t appear until the next Chapter.]
