Armed Train in the Apocalypse

The command deck was deathly silent.

Only two elderly people breathed softly.

They were waiting for Su Huan to make a decision. He was the first variable they had encountered in two years, and possibly the last.

Even though they had left behind many arrangements, ultimately they were only human. No matter what happened outside, they couldn’t perceive it or intervene. No one knew what the world had actually become.

After a long pause, Su Huan’s breathing was heard, and there was wind in the hemispherical space over five hundred meters in diameter.

”If you want to enter there, you’ll have to wait another six months, right?”

Su Huan looked towards the black hole formed by sketch lines.

”No.” The elderly person replied solemnly, ”We have the right to activate it, but are you sure you want to go in?”

”Do you have a way to leave here?”

Su Huan asked quietly.

The elderly person shook his head, ”I don’t know, not even Number Two knows. According to the information left by that person, only Tier Three Evolvers have a chance.”

”Someone has to try.”

After confirming Su Huan’s attitude, the elderly person nodded calmly, ”Alright, leave the rest to us. We also have some things we want to confirm. Additionally, do you have anything else you want to ask?”

”How much do you know about what’s beyond the black hole and those things related to the White Eagle Federation?”

The elderly person pondered for a moment, ”That’s a long story. Do you have faith in anything?”

Su Huan tilted his head, showing a little confusion in his eyes, ”Is this some sort of test?”

”That’s not what I mean.” The elderly person laughed, ”In other words, do you believe there are immortals in this world?”

If it were before the apocalypse, Su Huan would have laughed it off, but having experienced so much, when the question arose, his mind began to imagine wildly.

Various outrageous mythological stories from home and abroad seemed to have a reasonable explanation at this moment.

To some extent, Tier Four Evolvers can already be considered as terrestrial immortals. What about Tier Five?

Taking his own ”Eternal Motion Mechanism” as an example, his Life Force dramatically increased upon crossing the threshold. His life form underwent fundamental changes, with energy nearly infinite, grasping the Rules, difficult to be killed by external forces, emotional changes could cause drastic environmental changes, feats such as moving mountains and filling the seas, summoning winds and rains found in ancient texts would be just a matter of thought.

From this perspective, could it be that ancient immortals were Evolvers?

”That’s exactly what you’re thinking. Our world used to have immortals, but ever since the Heavenly Barrier, the gap between humans and gods grew increasingly hard to cross, ushering in the age of the end of mysticism, with no divine protection.”

”But we are ultimately a world that once had immortals, thus attracting the covetousness of other existences. For example, the world we are fighting against now is a world similar to ancient Donghuang, their world is on the verge of collapse, so they hope to conquer us to gain new living space.”

”Besides these, there are also some worlds that are inherently connected to large worlds, or smaller worlds cut off from the main world, which were called blessed lands in ancient times.”

”The pale demons of the White Eagle Federation, we speculate, originate from their mythical ’abyss’, but I am unsure of the specifics, I am merely explaining the concept. Before the apocalypse, they existed but were suppressed by the world Rules and thus were unknown, so, is the White Eagle Federation outside entangled with these demons?”

Su Huan faintly realized, when Marcus and the others first appeared, they claimed to be ”senior wardens of the Abyss of Lies”, perhaps they really are demons from Western mythology.

As for the silhouette sitting on the throne, could it be the Lord of Hell?

There was also the Tier Four silhouette riding a bull to the west, perhaps it is a mythical figure from some country.

Won’t the world in the future be like the revival of myths?

It’s really hard to say.

This speculation in Su Huan’s mind lasted only a moment, watching the curiosity on the elderly person’s face, he raised an eyebrow and said, ”If it weren’t for confirming the White Eagle Federation’s situation, you wouldn’t have so readily activated the Twelve Front Plan, right?”

”Looks like they have already fallen entirely.”

The elderly person naturally bypassed this topic, ”If there are no other issues, shall we go out first? Chao Yang and the others have many things they wish to discuss with you.”

Looking at the sealed air-tight doors, Number Three admired, ”Such heavy willpower, if it weren’t for upholding the nation’s face, I would want to sit down and have a chat.”

The Elder Marshal was not in the mood for jokes, instead he sharply asked, ”Did you really decide to rely on him?”

”He saved your granddaughter, your own granddaughter.”

”Enough nonsense, even if it were my own son, it’s not possible!”

”But that’s two million people! That’s national destiny! That’s the trend of the world!”

Number Three retorted, ”Remember what Chao Yang said about the difficulty of advancing to Tier Four, it was hard even for Xiao Qiu.”

”Even if there are many candidates outside, how many opportunities do we really have? Even with the Northern Alliance, all combined it’s just seventeen million, now it’s only twelve million, do you believe we can organize such nearly sacrificial wars several more times?”

The Elder Marshal frowned, yet remained stubborn, ”I will carry out the plans, but need to understand the outside situation clearly and know the specific number of high-level Evolvers.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it.”

...

In the following days, Su Huan engaged in intensive exchanges with various scientific personnel at the command center, not just experts from scientific and engineering fields but also numerous research personnel from the social sciences. Their understanding of the external world wasn’t limited to a few major powers, a few high-level Evolvers.
