Alchemy Master

Chapter 442, Spirit Sea

As each Array was broken, the strange disturbances outside the Gongshu Clan Hall gradually dissipated.

However, the disappearance of these disturbances did not bring joy to the faces of Gongshu Yushan and the others. Instead, their expressions became more solemn.

There were only two possibilities for why the terrifying disturbance had vanished.

First, the Arrays had been broken, naturally making it impossible to gather the power of World Energy for attacks, which had caused those frightening disturbances.

However, all members of the Gongshu Clan knew that the difficulty of the test within was unprecedented. Even several Elders from the Clan would find it impossible to pass such a trial, let alone Gongshu Zhiyi and Qin Yichen.

The other possibility behind the cessation of the disturbance was that those inside the Array had died, causing the Array to automatically disperse…

As the disturbance disappeared, a heavy atmosphere hung over the Gongshu Clan Hall. One was Gongshu Zhiyi, the Clan member with the best talent and most beloved personality. The other, although many Clan members were unwilling to accept him, they had to admit that he was the owner of the Master Craftsman’s Hammer.

The death of either would be a tremendous loss for the Gongshu Clan.

Moreover, if the Master Craftsman’s Hammer remained lost in that place, the possibility of recovering it would be nearly impossible. The Master Craftsman’s Hammer had just appeared, and if it were lost again because of this coming-of-age ceremony, then the entire Gongshu Clan would become the sinners of the Lu Ban Sect!

“Zhiyi…” Gongshu Yushan whispered softly, the wrinkles between his brows deepening several times over. Looking at him, he appeared to have aged more than ten years.

Before him, Supreme Elder, Gongshu Cangyou, also frowned, but his eyes remained fixed on the Array in front of the model Master Craftsman’s Hammer at the top of the Clan Hall, as if he wanted to see through it to glimpse what was happening in the trial.

“Patriarch…” After waiting for some time, the First Elder called out in a deep voice. If Gongshu Zhiyi and Qin Yichen had already failed, then this coming-of-age ceremony would be over.

Maintaining the opening of the trial consumed no small amount of energy…

Hearing the First Elder’s voice, Gongshu Yushan’s body trembled violently. His eyes gazed at the Array, then at Gongshu Cangyou in front of him. Finally, gritting his teeth, he declared. “Wait a little longer.”

This wait continued for a full hour. During this time, no one spoke. Everyone’s eyes remained fixed on the Array, as if hoping for a miracle.

…

Meanwhile, in the trial, the particles of light from the shattered Arrays finally dissipated.

Qin Yichen and Gongshu Zhiyi reluctantly awakened from their enlightenment. They were completely unaware of the situation outside.

After spending more than an hour in enlightenment, Qin Yichen felt that his attainment in the Dao of Crafting had far surpassed his previous month of hard cultivation. In that short time, he had gained what would take ordinary people decades of hard practice.

[So, this is the Dao of Crafting…] Thinking about the scenes he had witnessed—carving wood into tools, moulding clay into weapons—Qin Yichen had only glimpsed the tip of the iceberg of the once-glorious Lu Ban Sect.

[No wonder Master Lu Ban had single-handedly resisted the attacks of the Foreign Races and made such great contributions!]

“Brother Yichen, let’s quickly go to the Spirit Sea. Once we get out, you have to take me out to play!” After regaining consciousness, Gongshu Zhiyi made no further reflections but instead looked toward the Spirit Sea, which emitted an obscure yet powerful fluctuation, her eyes gleaming.

“Spirit Sea…”

Qin Yichen’s gaze also turned toward the Spirit Sea. The obscure yet powerful fluctuations made even his heart palpitate, showing that tempering in the Spirit Sea would not be as simple as imagined.

“As long as you’re still safe, I won’t go back on my promise.” Qin Yichen smiled.

“En… I just need to persist there for one day. I’ll go in first!”

Seeing that Qin Yichen had not reneged on his promise, Gongshu Zhiyi nodded with a smile, then her delicate body shot toward the Spirit Sea.

As Gongshu Zhiyi entered, the Spirit Sea was like a calm lake into which a stone had been thrown, with ripples spreading outward, enveloping her beautiful figure. A terrifying fluctuation spread out.

Because of Gongshu Zhiyi’s entry, Qin Yichen noticed that about one-tenth of the vast Spirit Sea had begun to ripple.

[Her talent is not bad.] Looking at the rippling Spirit Sea, Qin Yichen murmured.

An ordinary member of the Gongshu Clan entering the Spirit Sea probably would not activate even one-hundredth of it. The fact that Gongshu Zhiyi could achieve this proved how monstrous her talent was.

[If she activated one-tenth of the Spirit Sea’s pressure, then what about me?] Qin Yichen’s mouth twitched, involuntarily recalling the commotion caused earlier by his well-intentioned help.

…

As Gongshu Zhiyi entered the Spirit Sea to receive tempering, in the Gongshu Clan Hall outside, the Array in front of the model Master Craftsman’s Hammer suddenly erupted with a green light.

“This… what is this?” Seeing the strange phenomenon in the Array, those who had been staring at it intently immediately narrowed their pupils.

The Array emitting this light meant someone had entered the Spirit Sea!

“Could it be… Qin Yichen and Zhiyi have broken through the barrier of the Arrays and entered the Spirit Sea?” The Second Elder mumbled with a trembling voice, unable to believe it.

“Haha! Aren’t you just stating the obvious? Can’t you see that someone has entered the Spirit Sea?” The First Elder beside him loudly laughed.

At the forefront of the Array, Gongshu Yushan’s tense body finally relaxed a bit. It seemed things had not developed in the worst possible direction.

“But… with that disturbance earlier, can Zhiyi really persist? She can’t take any Puppets in there with her.”

Just as everyone was sighing in relief, a doubtful voice emerged from somewhere.

These words immediately poured ice water over the heads of those who had just begun to rejoice!

The clamour abruptly ceased.

“I… I was just speculating…” Seeing the eerie silence, the Clan members, who had spoken up immediately, timidly said.

However, no one cared what he said anymore. Everyone’s hearts, which had just relaxed, tightened again.

Gongshu Yushan’s aged face contorted into an unsightly wrinkle. Indeed, the Arrays triggered by the disturbance earlier were definitely beyond what Gongshu Zhiyi could withstand.
