Chapter 415, Rampant Demonic Beast

Translator: Silavin

Originally, Lan Xinyu’s purpose for coming to Heaven’s Destiny Forbidden Area was simply to reinforce the seal.

This task, for her, was just a moderate trial – without much difficulty.

However, she had not anticipated such an unexpected situation!

In fact, Lan Xinyu was not clear about what exactly was sealed beneath, but it was definitely a peerless Demonic Beast! If it were to break the seal and emerge, not to mention the corpses that would litter this place, it might even bring a tremendous catastrophe.

Normally, as a Heavenly Martial Artist, if Lan Xinyu were to leave now, it would not present any difficulty for her to escape this crisis, but she chose to stay.

This showed that she had justice in her heart and was a kind person. This was also the reason Qin Yichen reached out to help her.

He too did not wish to see a river of blood in this region.

However, his actions were misunderstood by Lan Xinyu…

Although Qin Yichen admitted that she indeed had charm comparable to the greatest beauties, grace that dimmed the Moon and shamed the flowers, one must consider the timing when appreciating beauty!

In such a critical moment, how could he possibly have any inappropriate thoughts?

“I just wanted to help…” Qin Yichen rubbed the bridge of his nose.

“Help?” Seemingly realising she had misunderstood him, Lan Xinyu’s beautiful face flashed with a trace of discomfort, but the impact from beneath the seal immediately afterward left her with no time to dwell on it.

“It’s useless.” Lan Xinyu was quite helpless.

Although the person before her was quite strong and had many strange Techniques, they were of no use against this seal.

Because this seal could only be reinforced by a Heavenly Martial Artist.

As for whether Qin Yichen might be a Heavenly Martial Artist, she had not even considered it.

Heavenly Martial Artists were exceedingly rare; how could there possibly be one in a place like this?

*Errrr…* She wanted to open her mouth to persuade Qin Yichen to leave, but following a muffled groan, a striking trace of blood flowed from the corner of her mouth.

“Accursed Demonic Beast! To think you have corroded the seal to such an extent!” Sweat dripped from Lan Xinyu’s forehead.

For the seal to be corroded to this extent was definitely not the work of a day or two. It was likely that the interior of the seal had already been completely corroded, and the Demonic Beast below had been biding its time, waiting for the perfect moment to strike and break the seal in one go.

Once Lan Xinyu got injured, it was very obvious that the black patterns on the stone monument gradually gained the upper hand and even showed signs of wanting to devour the entire stone monument in one go.

If the entire monument were to be occupied by the black patterns, that would be when the seal broke.

“Tell me, how can I help you?” Qin Yichen grew anxious too; he could not just stand here and watch the seal get destroyed.

But Lan Xinyu would not tell him what to do, and he was afraid that rash action might be counterproductive, so he could only anxiously stand by.

“Don’t even think about continuing to seal this Sovereign!” From beneath the stone monument came a roaring voice, filled with violence, bloodlust, enough to make one’s Soul tremble.

Obviously, this voice had a certain impact on Lan Xinyu’s Soul. Her face visibly paled further, and her delicate body trembled.

They had been negligent.

Originally, this place had always been peaceful, and although the ancient stone monument showed some signs of corrosion, as long as the seal was reinforced once every hundred years, it would be restored to its original state.

Lan Xinyu came here merely to reinforce the seal, and had not made any other preparations. So, when faced with this situation, she appeared to be at a loss – helpless.

Although she was a Heavenly Martial Artist, she was still too young and had not truly matured yet.

“Kekeke…” A strange laugh like that of a night owl transmitted from beneath the stone monument, full of satisfaction and arrogance. “To think that on the day this Sovereign breaks this accursed seal, those old things would even send a great gift to me. After this Sovereign breaks free, I’ll possess your body, allowing my cultivation to advance another step!”

Hearing these words, Lan Xinyu’s face paled further, and fear arose from the depths of her heart.

[She is still too young after all…] Qin Yichen, watching from the side, could not help but sigh.

He could remain calm and composed because he had thousands of years of experience from his previous life. However, Lan Xinyu was different; even if she was Heaven’s Chosen, she was still just a teenage girl. Her mental fortitude, even if stronger than her peers, would still have moments of fear.

Originally, with Lan Xinyu, a Heavenly Martial Artist, reinforcing the seal, it would not have been easy for the Demonic Beast to break it. However, as Lan Xinyu’s psychological defences collapsed, the speed at which the black patterns devoured increased.

[What exactly is beneath this thing? To think it has been sealed for so many years, yet it is still able to remain alive?] Qin Yichen’s expression became extremely solemn.

The Demonic Beast below was truly terrifying.

The Heaven’s Destiny Forbidden Area had existed for countless years, back then, Qin Yichen could live for over ten thousand years, but that was by relying on various Pills to sustain himself.

Even that had its limit.

Throughout endless years, countless powerful experts had returned to dust.

For this Demonic Beast to survive for such a long time under the suppression of the seal was truly inconceivable.

[Could it be that it’s devouring the Life Force of others?] Suddenly, a flash of insight appeared in Qin Yichen’s mind.

From the moment he entered the Heaven’s Destiny Forbidden Area, there was a powerful force devouring Life Force. Every time the Heaven’s Destiny Forbidden Area opened, countless people perished inside.

Perhaps, the Demonic Beast beneath the seal had survived till now by devouring the Life Force of others?

Qin Yichen guessed that must be the reason why this Demonic Beast was sealed.

Devouring the Life Force of others to extend one’s own lifespan was absolutely something that Heaven could not tolerate. This was similar in nature to possessing another’s Martial Soul.

[Yet, even when under the seal, its power to devour is already so strong. If it escapes…] Qin Yichen’s expression turned ugly. He did not even dare to think about what would happen if that happened.

It could be said that at this point, even if he wanted to escape, it would be too late.

The strength of this sealed Demonic Beast was definitely unprecedented. If it broke free, to replenish itself, it would definitely indiscriminately massacre its surroundings.

Everyone within the Heaven’s Destiny Forbidden Area would be sucked dry in an instant.

And now, clearly, they could not rely on Lan Xinyu either. The seal being broken was just a matter of time.

“Kekeke, this Sovereign can hardly wait…”

*Clang!* With a resonating sound, the night owl-like strange voice from beneath the stone monument was suddenly cut off.

“Eight Direction Furnace!”

The night owl-like strange cry became somewhat heart-wrenching. Evidently, it greatly feared the Eight Direction Furnace.

After all, this was the true thing that was suppressing it.

If not for the Heavenly Flame released by the Eight Direction Furnace constantly weakening it, it would have broken the seal long ago!
