Alchemy Master

Chapter 438, Are You Here to Help?

In the Clan Hall, standing in the centre was an enlarged Master Craftsman’s Hammer, carved with exquisite detail, possessing some of the essence of the real Artifact.

Evidently, the person who had carved this Master Craftsman’s Hammer model was skilled.

Around the giant hammer were arranged memorial tablets, all belonging to the Ancestors of the Gongshu Clan.

At this moment, four Elders stood in front of the Master Craftsman’s Hammer model.

Gongshu Yushan stood to one side with slightly furrowed brows, watching Gongshu Zhiyi walk in, his eyes discreetly containing traces of worry.

In fact, as Gongshu Zhiyi came closer, he tried to speak several times but only opened his mouth without saying anything to stop her.

He knew that if he intervened, it would be unfair to the other clan members.

The coming-of-age ceremony was an important trial that everyone in the Gongshu Clan had to experience. Although it was filled with various unknown dangers, if one could pass it, the benefits would be enormous.

As the Patriarch, he could not show favouritism.

Gongshu Zhiyi completely failed to notice the concern in her Father’s eyes, and continued chatting and laughing with Qin Yichen, who was walking beside her.

Qin Yichen was not as oblivious as she was. Moreover, after his conversation with Qingshan, he clearly understood the great danger contained in this coming-of-age ceremony.

“Remember what you promised me.” After arriving in the Clan Hall, Gongshu Zhiyi pretended to look fierce as she raised her fist at Qin Yichen, but her adorable appearance lacked any intimidation.

“As long as you can pass through this trial, I will keep my promise.” Qin Yichen nodded to her.

Although the Gongshu Clan had a rule stating that clan members were not allowed to leave, with his identity as the Sect Master of the Lu Ban Sect, there should not be a major problem for them to circumvent that.

Moreover, if Qin Yichen wanted to show he had the support of the Gongshu Clan, he would need to break this Clan Rule.

Gongshu Yushan observed all this and sighed in his heart.

He had originally planned to ask Qin Yichen to assist Gongshu Zhiyi, but remembering Gongshu Cangyou’s words, he dared not speak up.

“Let’s begin.” As Gongshu Zhiyi walked to the front of the Master Craftsman’s Hammer, the Elders exchanged glances. Immediately, each formed different hand seals and uttered some obscure incantations. Then, a strange energy extended from above their heads, condensing into an invisible Array.

“Activate!” With a deep shout from the Elder in the middle, the Array covered the Master Craftsman’s Hammer model.

*Hum…* Then, complex patterns lit up on the Master Craftsman’s Hammer model, bursting forth with a powerful light that enveloped Gongshu Zhiyi who stood beneath it.

Within that powerful light, a door made of light seemed to appear.

As this light door appeared, the incantations from the Elders became more urgent, their hands forming seals trembled slightly, and soon even their foreheads were covered in sweat, appearing somewhat strained.

However, the Array on the Master Craftsman’s Hammer grew brighter, and an indescribable pulling force emanated from it.

Under this pulling force, the light door slowly opened.

Beyond the door was a vast white. It was unclear what lay inside.

Then, Gongshu Zhiyi’s delicate body rose without wind, floating toward the now open light door, entering into that mysterious white world.

By this time, the Elders had stopped their incantations.

Just as everyone was waiting for the light door to close, something unexpected happened.

“Hmm?” Standing not far away, Qin Yichen witnessed Gongshu Zhiyi enter the light door when suddenly, he felt a mysterious pulling force drawing him in, and then he began floating toward the open light door just like Gongshu Zhiyi had.

“What?” Qin Yichen tried to break free from that pulling force, but found it was in vain – completely ineffective.

The pulling force was simply too strong!

Before Qin Yichen could even react, he felt a flash of white before his eyes, and a sudden dizziness struck him, making his mind go blank as he fell into a mysterious chaos.

“What’s happening?”

“Why did he go in too?”

The entire hall immediately erupted into chaos, with clamour rising all around.

The Elders looked at each other, all with expressions of shock and confusion.

They had clearly stopped their incantations, so why was Qin Yichen still drawn in?

They could not comprehend what had happened.

Gongshu Yushan was also stunned. Although he had wanted Qin Yichen to enter and help Gongshu Zhiyi, he truly had not done anything underhanded or pushed things along.

Moreover, it was possible that with Qin Yichen’s involvement, the difficulty of the trial might increase.

With these unstable factors, he naturally would not take such risks.

“Patriarch…”

The people around were arguing loudly without reaching a conclusion, and could only turn their gazes toward Gongshu Yushan, seemingly seeking an answer.

[Maybe…] They had a guess in their hearts, but no one dared to speak it out at this moment.

“Let nature take its course.” Gongshu Yushan did not explain anything. He frowned, looking at the now-closed light door, his gaze flickering, his thoughts unknown.

“Patriarch, now that he’s gone in, if the Master Craftsman’s Hammer is lost in there, I’m afraid…” The Elder leading the ritual approached and whispered in his ear.

“This…” After hearing these words, Gongshu Yushan suddenly remembered Qin Yichen’s identity.

The Master Craftsman’s Hammer was with Qin Yichen!

That was a Sacred Artifact of the Lu Ban Sect! If it was lost in there, how could they ever find it?

Because, based on the different strengths of each person who entered, the trials arranged inside would be different!

“This is bad!” Gongshu Yushan’s expression immediately turned dark.

If something happened to Qin Yichen in there, causing the Master Craftsman’s Hammer to be lost, then he would become the greatest sinner of the Gongshu Clan and the Lu Ban Sect!

“Let’s hope he can return safely.” After a long while, Gongshu Yushan let out a long sigh. At this point, he could only pray.

At this moment, his concern for Qin Yichen’s safety even exceeded that for his own Daughter!

…

“Brother Yichen, why did you come in too?”

After an unknown amount of time had passed, a familiar voice sounded by Qin Yichen’s ear, causing him to suddenly jolt awake and open his eyes.

“Zhiyi?” Seeing the adorable girl before him, Qin Yichen was startled, “Could it be…”

He recalled what had happened. Since Gongshu Zhiyi, who was undergoing the coming-of-age ceremony, was here, in the same room, it meant that he had been drawn in as well.

He did not understand why the Gongshu Clan’s coming-of-age ceremony would involve him. Perhaps it was because he was the Successor of the Lu Ban Sect?

“Is Brother Yichen here to help me?” Gongshu Zhiyi blinked her big eyes, curiosity flashing in them.

“Yes… I suppose so…” Qin Yichen’s mouth twitched.
