Alchemy Master

Chapter 326, A Peerless Master of a Whole Generation

Translator: Silavin

Throughout Human History, many brilliant Masters have appeared. Lu Ban was one of them.

“Could it be that the Craftsman Heart left by Master Lu Ban is inside the Twilight Tower?!”

Upon learning that the Twilight Tower was a creation left behind by the Lu Ban Descendants, Qin Yichen’s heart immediately stirred.

Legend had it that the Craftsman Heart contained Master Lu Ban’s lifetime of knowledge over crafting. If one could obtain the Craftsman Heart, perhaps one could receive Master Lu Ban’s Inheritance!

Thinking this, Qin Yichen’s footsteps quickened as he pushed open the corridor’s great door.

“What is your wish?” A voice suddenly appeared in Qin Yichen’s mind.

“To protect!” Without thinking, these two words appeared in Qin Yichen’s mind.

He wanted to protect all those he cared about around him. In his previous life, he stood at the peak, looked around, but lacked a single person by his side. That kind of loneliness was something only he could understand. It was at that moment that he realised what was truly important.

Therefore, in this life, everything he was doing now was built on the foundation of being able to protect his loved ones.

Before Qin Yichen could react, a bright light appeared, followed by a shining great path appearing before him. At the end of the path sat a stone platform, and on the platform was inserted a strangely-shaped hammerhead.

Qin Yichen did not know if that was the Craftsman Heart, but that hammerhead must be related to Master Lu Ban.

*Pat.* He took his first step, and instantly, the surrounding scene changed.

He was in a great hall, surrounded by countless treasure vaults, glittering with golden light, filled with innumerable Treasured Wonders.

Qin Yichen kept his gaze straight ahead and took his second step.

“*Giggle…* Hey, come play with us.”

Coquettish laughter rang out along with fragrant scents. Not far away, under peach and plum trees. There, a group of beautiful women were beckoning to him.

Their beauty was certainly those that could move one’s heart.

But Qin Yichen still took his third step.

He became a regional overlord, with thousands submitting to him, the feeling of being high above others making one sink into it.

Qin Yichen soon took his fourth step.

He became a Peerless Master of a whole generation, with no one in the world being his match.

Qin Yichen broke through these illusions one by one, resolutely walking toward that stone platform. Taking up that hammerhead, instantly, everything around him shattered.

He found himself in a great hall, surrounded by tall statues.

Among them, at the highest place was the statue of the Ancestor of Craftsmen… Master Lu Ban!

Qin Yichen, with utmost sincerity, respectfully bowed and knelt before Master Lu Ban’s statue.

This was respect from the bottom of his heart. After all, without the sacrifices of these selfless Martyrs, how could there be today’s peace for the Human Race?!

“Young man, you surprised me.” An elderly voice suddenly echoed in the great hall, the voice very peaceful.

“This Junior Qin Yichen. I am of the Human Race. Representing them, I pay respects to the Elder!” Qin Yichen bowed again, his face still showing neither pride nor impatience.

“In all these years, you are the only one who has properly passed the test…” The elderly voice carried traces of sighing and lamentation.

Many people came here with various purposes – some for wealth, some for beautiful women, some for power… their hearts were never satisfied.

Perhaps they obtained what they wanted here – jewels, Martial Arts Techniques… but at the same time, they lost their qualification to receive the actual inheritance.

But none of those were what Qin Yichen wanted.

In his previous life, wealth, beautiful women, power… these were all things he could obtain easily, how could they tempt him!?

How could the Lu Ban Descendants pass their inheritance to such people?!

If one’s wish had been any of those things, they would likely have been transported somewhere to obtain what they wanted through their own efforts.

Therefore, everyone who entered the third floor of the Twilight Tower encountered and obtained different things.

What Qin Yichen wanted was… the means to protect.

However, ‘to protect’ encompasses much.

Master Lu Ban created various powerful Puppets, in fact, also to protect the Human Race. Therefore, Qin Yichen received the actual inheritance test.

“Actually, there was another young man who had the same purpose as you, but in the end, he still could not walk out of the temptation of power…”

The elderly voice continued speaking.

The Lu Ban Descendants created the Twilight City and Twilight Tower for the purpose of finding a Successor, but after experiencing long years, they had not found even one suitable person. One can imagine how disappointed, even… grief-stricken their hearts were.

After seeing this, was there really a future for the Human Race?

“Hmm?” Qin Yichen was startled as he looked around and discovered in a corner of the great hall lay a skeleton.

The clothes on the skeleton had rotted, but two things had rolled to the side… one was a thin sword, and the other was a square piece of jade.

On this jade piece was a carving – a Dragon’s body with a Tiger’s head.

It was the image of the Heavenly Hu Jiao.

[Could that be the Royal Seal?] Qin Yichen’s heart stirred as he walked over and picked up the jade piece.

The one who brought the Royal Seal in was the Grand Empire’s Crown Prince, also the future ruler of the Grand Empire. Perhaps he had thoughts of protecting the Grand Empire, but having experienced the influence of power since childhood, he still could not walk past the trial of power.

This did not surprise Qin Yichen.

The elderly voice also did not stop Qin Yichen’s actions.

The illusions at that time were very real. If Qin Yichen’s heart had even the slightest infatuation with power, he absolutely could not have walked past that illusion.

“Young man, are you willing to accept the inheritance?!” The elderly voice raised several degrees, echoing in the great hall.

“This Junior will not bring shame to Master Lu Ban!” Qin Yichen’s voice was very firm, and then he performed the ancient discipleship ceremony before Master Lu Ban’s statue.

A true Master was one who established their own Force, teaching what they knew. Master Lu Ban was absolutely a Peerless Master of a whole generation without precedent or equal.

How fortunate was Qin Yichen to receive the inheritance of such a Master!?

“Very good.” The elderly voice seemed very satisfied with his behaviour. “Keep your mind steady and receive the inheritance!”

Qin Yichen did not dare be careless, sitting cross-legged before Master Lu Ban’s statue.

Instantly, a flood-like stream of memories poured into his mind…

*Arghhhh….* Even though Qin Yichen was prepared, his entire head ached from the impact of these memories, causing him to softly grunt.

The inheritance continued for a full five days.

During these five days, the situation outside the Twilight Tower had some changes.

Because no one had ever stayed on the third floor of the Twilight Tower for such a long time.

The third floor was different from the first and second floors. On the third floor, one would basically be transported out after passing the test and obtaining what they needed.
