Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

At the Sherwood Family residence, Timothy Sherwood had bought a great many things to placate Thea Sherwood.

”Thea, look. This is that limited-edition handbag you’ve always wanted. And this, your favorite dress. Dad will also transfer ten million to you. You can buy whatever you want, how about it?”

Thea Sherwood hadn’t left the house in days, and she had been completely listless.

Timothy Sherwood thought about what his godfather had said. Getting Thea to willingly accompany him again seemed very difficult, so he had bought these things to come and try his luck.

Unexpectedly, Thea Sherwood shoved him away. ”Get out! Get out! This is all your fault! All of you!”

Thea Sherwood hadn’t completely ignored Ivy Sherwood’s words.

’If it really was Dad...’

It wasn’t that she hadn’t considered calling the police as Ivy had suggested, but her parents had persuaded her against it. They said it was her god-grandfather, that he had always doted on her, and that he had just had too much to drink that day.

Besides, not a single trace of DNA could be found on Thea Sherwood. How could she go to the police?

At the thought, Thea Sherwood began to cry.

”Thea, Dad knows. Dad failed to protect you. But how can you think Dad harmed you? Don’t listen to Ivy Sherwood’s provocations.”

”Dad has already taught Ivy a lesson for you. Right now, her factory is delayed and can’t ship its products. She’s tearing her hair out. If you don’t believe Ivy was behind this, then go ask the person who told you to go to the hotel. Didn’t you say it was a friend of yours who asked you to go? Go ask her. Dad has already found her address for you. I’ll arrange for someone to take you there.”

”Yasmin Lee!” Thea Sherwood spat the name through gritted teeth. ’I’ll never forgive her!’

Thea Sherwood finally left the house, going with Timothy Sherwood to Yasmin Lee’s residence.

The moment Yasmin Lee opened the door, Thea Sherwood lunged forward and slapped her hard across the face. ”Bitch!”

She then went to choke Yasmin Lee. ”It’s all your fault, you bitch! I’m going to kill you!”

Timothy Sherwood quickly intervened. ”Thea, don’t be rash. Let go first.”

After breaking free from Thea Sherwood’s grasp, Yasmin Lee exchanged a look with Timothy Sherwood before speaking. ”Thea Sherwood, are you insane? What happened?”

Then, Timothy Sherwood slapped Yasmin Lee himself. ”You! Why would you harm my daughter? Why did you take my daughter to a hotel?”

Yasmin Lee clutched her face. ”Ivy Sherwood told me to take you upstairs last time! I don’t know anything! She just told me to take you up there. Whatever grudge you have, go take it out on Ivy Sherwood!”

”See, Thea? I told you it was Ivy. Don’t worry, Thea, Dad will definitely get revenge for you!”

Thea Sherwood clenched her fists tightly. She and Ivy Sherwood could not live under the same sky!

After leaving Yasmin Lee’s home, Timothy Sherwood transferred a sum of money to Yasmin Lee before comforting his own daughter. ”Thea, you know Dad loves you the most. Seeing you like this truly breaks my heart. Why don’t you go out and take your mind off things? I heard a new resort is opening in a couple of days. How about you go have some fun?”

Thea Sherwood stared out the window. Despite her beautiful clothes, she looked utterly devoid of life.

Timothy Sherwood continued to coax her. ”Thea, your god-grandfather also said he wants to find a time to apologize to you. How about...”

”No! I don’t want to see him!” The mere thought of that demon made Thea Sherwood recall what had happened that night.

”Thea! I already told you, your godfather was drunk! He mistook you for one of the girls he had called over. Besides, don’t you want to deal with Ivy Sherwood? You know her methods. We can’t beat her on our own. Since your godfather wants to apologize to you, why not use him to get rid of Ivy?”

Timothy Sherwood was pulling out all the stops to get Thea to agree.

He knew his daughter better than anyone and knew exactly which buttons to push.

”For this trip to the resort, your godfather has prepared a grand ceremony to apologize to you. He might even gift you the resort. Just go. You’re his most beloved little princess, right?”

”You can have someone film it and make all your classmates and friends die with envy. What do you think?”

Thea Sherwood hesitated. She had always been vain, and if her god-grandfather apologized to her in such a grand fashion, then she...

”He won’t... do that to me... again, will he?”

”Of course not. Dad promises.”

”Okay, then.” Thea Sherwood finally agreed.

”Thea, you truly are my good daughter.”

’A good daughter who could make him money.’

Timothy Sherwood breathed a sigh of relief. Where Thea Sherwood couldn’t see, a look of triumphant certainty flashed across his face.

...

Ivy Sherwood hadn’t rested for a moment. After returning to Lustre, she immediately began tackling the factory issue there.

The factory in Aethelgard had at least solved the most pressing problem, and the first batch of orders had already been shipped.

As soon as she got off the plane, Ivy dropped her luggage off at the office and then went to the factory location that Edie had scouted over the past two days.

It was clear that partnerships weren’t completely reliable; ultimately, she had to depend on herself. That’s why she planned to open her own factory.

Of course, building one from scratch was impossible right now, so she was looking at existing sites that were available for lease or transfer.

Ivy Sherwood had been working nonstop for days, but when she saw all the glowing reviews for Iris from her wonderful customers, she felt it was all worth it.

By the time Ivy was ready to head home, it was the middle of the night.

She had now developed a habit of checking her security camera before leaving to make sure no one was waiting at her door, hoping to avoid a repeat of the Gabriel Walker incident.

One look showed her an impatient-looking man standing at her door.

Silas Blackwood!

’That persistent ghost! Will he ever give up?!’

Ivy Sherwood immediately turned her car around and headed back to the office instead of home.

She had no desire to see that man; it would only ruin her mood.

Silas Blackwood waited at Ivy Sherwood’s door for a long time, but she never returned. That damn woman!

He had gone to her company looking for her two days ago and was told she was on a business trip. Ivy was back today, but she wasn’t at the studio; they said she had gone to look at some factory.

He refused to believe she wouldn’t come home eventually, but after waiting until midnight, Ivy still hadn’t shown up.

’Is she playing me?’

They had agreed to go to the resort, but now he couldn’t even find her.

Silas Blackwood had been simmering with frustration for days with nowhere to vent it. The next morning, he finally cornered Ivy Sherwood in her studio.

”Ivy Sherwood, are you fucking playing me?”

”Silas Blackwood, it’s early in the morning. Can’t you go be crazy somewhere else? I’m very busy.”

”That playing-hard-to-get act won’t work on me. Didn’t you already agree last time? If my dad wasn’t forcing me to take you to the resort, I wouldn’t even be here.”

Moreover, his father had said this was an opportunity for them to cultivate their relationship. He had arranged everything and told Silas Blackwood to get along with Ivy Sherwood.

But Silas Blackwood had no intention of getting along. This time, he was going to make Ivy Sherwood understand that he, Silas Blackwood, was a real catch—a man she could never have!
