Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Ivy Sherwood didn’t want to use the movie star’s fame and connections to build hype for her own brand.

If she did, this would be a huge favor from Landon Jacobs that she could never truly repay.

”There are so many people now. It must be causing trouble for Mr. Jacobs.” Landon Jacobs was usually so low-key; he definitely disliked being surrounded by so many fans.

With so many fans here already, and more likely pouring in, Ivy Sherwood was worried it would be a major hassle for Landon Jacobs.

”So what do we do now?” Nina Scott asked.

Ivy Sherwood thought for a moment. ”I prepared some spare gift boxes earlier. Give one to Mr. Jacobs, then ask about his schedule. If he needs to leave, I’ll see him out.”

Landon Jacobs had only come to make an appearance; saying he was here to pick something out was just an excuse.

Now that the desired impact had been more or less achieved, there was no reason for him to stay.

As more and more fans arrived, it would only become more difficult for him to leave.

Ivy Sherwood called over the security guards, who finally managed to clear a path. After much difficulty, they were finally able to escort Landon Jacobs out.

Even after Landon Jacobs had left, the fans remained just as frantic. Ivy Sherwood’s shop wasn’t large to begin with and was now completely swamped.

The cheers from the massive crowd that had packed the mall now changed from ”Evan Carter” to ”Landon Jacobs.”

Orders came flooding in one after another. Meanwhile, looking over at Thea Sherwood’s side, it was practically deserted.

How could a run-of-the-mill influencer-type celebrity possibly compare to a bona fide movie star?

If that young influencer hadn’t remembered he was a celebrity himself, he probably would have tried to squeeze through the crowd to catch a glimpse of the movie star.

Besides, Landon Jacobs wasn’t just any movie star. His standing in the entertainment industry was god-tier; his position was unassailable.

Thea Sherwood had thought victory was within her grasp. She never expected that the fans she had worked so hard to attract with her brand ambassador would all flock to Ivy Sherwood’s side. Wasn’t this just doing all the hard work for someone else’s benefit?

’Besides, how could Ivy Sherwood possibly have the pull to get a major figure like Landon Jacobs?’

Thea Sherwood had been gloating over Ivy Sherwood’s dismal sales just moments before. Now, Ivy’s orders were exploding. Although Thea had sold a decent amount herself, it was nothing compared to Ivy’s numbers.

Thea Sherwood was fuming. ’Why is Ivy so damn lucky? What kind of special talent does she possibly have?!’

Because of the massive crowd of fans, Cheryl Yates, Seth Scott, and Julian Grant were now stuck there as well.

If Quentin Blackwood hadn’t left early, he probably wouldn’t have been able to get out either.

After Landon Jacobs left, Milo Jacobs quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

”My apologies, Miss Yates, Mr. Scott, Mr. Grant. I didn’t expect Mr. Jacobs to show up. I’m sorry for the trouble this has caused you.”

”Not at all,” Julian Grant sighed. ”If anything, I got to witness the movie star’s charisma firsthand today. Landon Jacobs is truly one of a kind. Compared to him, the artists at my company still have a long way to go.”

Landon Jacobs, the living legend of the entertainment world, was truly no joke.

”Why would the movie star come here?” Cheryl Yates also found it strange.

’He’s not the kind of person just anyone can get to show up.’

”Didn’t Mr. Grant invite him?” Seth Scott looked at Julian Grant.

Julian Grant was in the entertainment business and ran a large company. If Landon Jacobs had really been invited by someone, he was the most likely candidate.

”I mean, it really wasn’t me. Landon Jacobs and I are acquaintances, but we’re not close. Besides, where would I get that kind of influence?”

’But Landon Jacobs wouldn’t have come for no reason. The only person who could possibly get him to show up is...’

Julian Grant felt like he had just stumbled onto something.

...

Far away in Aethelgard, Joy Sheridan scrolled through a long list of trending topics about Landon Jacobs.

She clicked on one of the topics and looked at the photos. Many people had posted pictures of their chance encounter with Landon Jacobs, but Joy’s focus wasn’t on him.

Instead, it was on the departing back of a figure in a blurry photo.

Even though the picture was incredibly blurry, she could still tell at a glance that the figure was Quentin Blackwood.

Quentin Blackwood had been away from Aethelgard for some time now. She missed him terribly and had called him many times, but he rarely answered.

Her feelings for Quentin Blackwood had probably started many years ago, from the very first moment her grandfather brought him home. He had been just a boy of fifteen or sixteen, there to discuss business with their family.

Just one look, and Joy Sheridan was captivated.

Quentin Blackwood had been handsome since he was a child. By his teenage years, his features had already sharpened, and his eyes, in particular, held a profound composure and calmness.

He possessed a cool, solitary pride, like the moon in the sky, and it was this quality that deeply attracted Joy Sheridan.

She had loved Quentin Blackwood for many years, and she believed she was the only woman who was allowed to be by his side.

She was also convinced that one day, she would marry him.

Joy Sheridan had been doted on like a little princess her entire life. There was nothing she wanted that she couldn’t have.

Besides, her grandfather had promised to help her, so she never felt a sense of threat. Even when she was abroad for four years during college, she never thought anyone could take her place by Quentin Blackwood’s side.

’After all, you couldn’t find more than a handful of women in the world who were more beautiful and accomplished than she was.’

But this time, with Quentin Blackwood back in Lustre, a sense of unease crept into her heart.

This was especially true after seeing this blurry photo, because standing right next to Quentin Blackwood was another woman!

Joy Sheridan immediately ordered someone to investigate this woman’s background, as well as everyone who had been at the mall with Quentin Blackwood that day.

Since it had happened in a public place, the investigation wasn’t difficult at all. Soon, Joy Sheridan had files on everyone present and learned that the woman beside Quentin Blackwood was named Ivy Sherwood.

Ivy Sherwood’s complete file was also quickly delivered into Joy Sheridan’s hands.

Joy Sheridan read the file and saw that this Ivy Sherwood was Silas Blackwood’s fiancée.

And this Silas Blackwood was Quentin Blackwood’s nephew. So, the relationship between the two was uncle and his nephew’s fiancée.

’So they’re family,’ she thought.

At the same time, she saw Ivy Sherwood’s photo in the file, and her sense of threat vanished in an instant.

’How could Quentin Blackwood possibly be interested in such an ugly woman?’

’A man as lofty as him would only be interested in an equally exceptional woman like herself. This woman looked the way she did, came from an ordinary family... Quentin Blackwood wouldn’t give her a second glance.’

’He was probably standing with her only because she was about to marry into the Blackwood Family.’

Joy Sheridan’s heart was finally at ease. She then glanced through the files on the others. This Cheryl Yates, however... her showing up here for no reason seemed suspicious. ’Her motives don’t seem pure at all.’

’If she really has any ideas she shouldn’t, then she can’t blame me for what happens next!’

She had lost count of how many women with designs on Quentin Blackwood she had ”dealt with.” Even at DG, if a female secretary so much as gave him a second glance, she would find a way to have that secretary removed from the company.

She wondered when Quentin Blackwood would return to Aethelgard. ’I need to make a trip to Lustre soon!’ she thought.
