Chapter 1071, This Woman Has Some Tricks

Once those words were spoken, he charged towards Ye Wuxian. As he surged forward, his hands traced the outline of a Summoning Array in the air.

As the Array took shape, in an instant, a wild gust of wind blew forth from within. Then, hot on its heels, a golden eagle came soaring out.

The eagle’s wingspan was five metres or more. Compared to ordinary Monsters, it was not particularly large, but relative to a Player, it was still quite an imposing beast.

At the same time, its size was just right to serve as a Mount.

The name of this Battle Pet was ‘Blazing Sun Eagle’, and it was inherently proficient in both Metal and Fire Element Skills.

Each individual feather on its body was comparable to refined iron of an exceptionally high grade, and were it a wild Boss, the feathers it dropped could serve as high grade crafting materials for forging weapons or equipment.

Covered entirely in such feathers, the Blazing Sun Eagle’s Defence was naturally absurdly high.

Under ordinary circumstances, a Battle Pet with High Defence would typically be weaker in other areas, particularly in terms of Attack.

Yet, the Blazing Sun Eagle’s Attack power was equally formidable.

Whether in Close Combat or Range Combat, it possessed Skills of considerable power that could bring utter devastation upon its enemies.

Take its Skill, Blazing Sun Claw. It could send the eagle plunging down from a high altitude, raking its target with a ferocious claw strike. Not only was the Attack Power extraordinarily high, it also had a remarkable Armour Piercing Effect. There was even a chance of inflicting Bleeding, or even Cripple, upon its enemy.

For Ranged Attacks, there was its Sky Covering Fire Rain.

By beating its wings, it could shed feathers from its body, igniting them as they fell, blanketing a portion of the area below.

This Skill could be focused to a single point, serving as a Single Target Attack, or it could be spread wide, functioning as an Area of Effect Skill. This made it exceptionally practical.

These two Skills alone were enough to allow the Blazing Sun Eagle to showcase its high Damage Output capability.

It could be said that the Blazing Sun Eagle’s Damage Output was no lower than that of any Battle Pet designed primarily for Dealing Damage.

With this balance of offence and defence established, the Blazing Sun Eagle’s Agility Attribute went without saying.

As a flying unit, its flight speed was second to none amongst Battle Pets of the same Grade. When combined with its balanced offensive and defensive Attributes and Skills, as well as the trait of being usable as a Sky Mount, its value had multiplied many times over.

Back in the day, the Tie Family had expended incalculable resources and effort in taming this Blazing Sun Eagle.

In the end, after ten years, they finally obtained a Blazing Sun Eagle Egg and tamed it into this Battle Pet of today.

Were one to list out the various resources the Tie Family had invested, this single Blazing Sun Eagle’s value would undoubtedly rank within the top ten. Its worth would surpass even some of the most lucrative Secret Realms, standing on par with the Legendary Grade items, which were considered as treasured heirlooms of the Tie Family.

The fact that he had come to possess this Battle Pet was itself testament to this Elder’s exceptional standing.

He was, in effect, the second-in-command of the Tie Family. Except for the Tie Family’s Ancestor, no one held greater authority than him.

Should the Tie Family Ancestor ever meet with some mishap, or simply pass on from old age, it would be he who held true power over the Tie Family.

His Combat Power went without saying. Within the entire Tie Family, aside from the Ancestor, who wielded a Legendary Grade item, he was the strongest.

He and the Blazing Sun Eagle together were truly formidable, making them the strongest combatant among all the Tie Family members present.

And so, faced with a young woman like Ye Wuxian, he was showing utter contempt.

He even believes himself to be a true expert: except for those from the Sacred Lands, there were few in the entire Western Border who could be considered his match.

Now, having been openly humiliated by Ye Wuxian to his face, his fury was understandable.

Since he had decided to kill her, he naturally held nothing back. He summoned the Blazing Sun Eagle directly, which he treasured like his greatest possession, intent on killing Ye Wuxian with the swiftness of a thunderclap before she could react.

Once he had claimed the equipment from her corpse, he still needed to quickly clean up the battlefield. He needs to get the Tie Family members out of here as fast as possible to evade the ever-looming threat that was Lu Fan.

At the same time, he needed to erase as many traces of Ye Wuxian’s death as soon as possible. That way, Lu Fan’s attention would be divided between searching for Ye Wuxian, rather than being entirely focused on hunting the Tie Family for revenge.

The Elder’s plan was already laid out. He had already thought through everything that would follow after he killed Ye Wuxian.

Unfortunately, at the very first step of his plan’s execution, he ran into the greatest problem.

As the Blazing Sun Eagle appeared, he stepped forward, launching himself like a cannonball until he landed upon the Blazing Sun Eagle’s back.

At the same moment, a long spear materialised in his hand, which he thrust forward.

In an instant, a colossal spear manifestation surged forward at extraordinary speed. Its target was naturally Ye Wuxian.

Seeing this, Ye Wuxian’s body, wreathed in flames that appeared from thin air, retreated backwards. At the same time, she swept a hand upward, and a shield of flame took shape from top to bottom, positioning itself between her and the Elder.

The Elder paid this flame shield absolutely no heed. He was supremely confident that this single strike from his spear could not be blocked by a Skill casually released by a Level 100 Player.

That shattering that shield would be the simplest thing in the world.

And reality was as he had imagined. As he drove his spear forward, the flame shield was punctured by a spiralling gap, the entire shield showing signs of collapse.

Yet, the Skill that should have been shattered and dissipated did not dissolve. Instead, it swept directly towards the Elder, wrapping tightly around him and the Blazing Sun Eagle.

One of the Tie Family Players who had noticed something amiss and immediately called out. “Elder, be careful! Her Level 100 Divine Skill allows her to manipulate flame and freely combine her Skills. She can use fire to deflect your attacks, and she can also transform a Defensive Skill into an offensive one. You cannot treat the flames she releases as ordinary Skills. You must treat them as living things, capable of a thousand different effects and functions.”

Almost as the words left his mouth…

*Whoosh!* A fierce wind swept outward, the flames were blown apart, and the Elder and the Blazing Sun Eagle burst free from within, still having flames burning on them.

Yet, he was not particularly troubled by these flames.

Despite having been caught off-guard just now by one of Ye Wuxian’s trick moves, he still remained calm and unhurried.

The Skill just now had merely stung him a bit. It was far from fatal.

If this was the extent of Ye Wuxian’s Skills, then he had nothing to fear. Taking her down would be extremely easy.

If he was not troubled by these flames, then there was even less to be said of the Blazing Sun Eagle, whose Defence was even higher.

“Woman, you sure have some tricks up your sleeve, but in the face of absolute power, any trick is meaningless.” The Elder let out a cold snort, noticing the flames still burning on his body. He reached out casually to brush them out.

However, what shocked him next was that no matter how he waved his hand, the fierce wind he generated simply could not extinguish the flames.
