Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 1052, The Method to Defeat the Purgatory Overlord

Translator: Silavin

After the fireball landed on Bao Bao, it immediately swelled up and stuck to Bao Bao’s body with no signs of dissipating.

Bao Bao’s anguished roar transmitted from within the flames, clearly in deep pain.

He flew upward, wanting to escape from the flames.

However, these flames were like maggots attached to bone, impossible to shake off. Wherever Bao Bao flew, the flames followed, continuously releasing astonishing high temperatures, constantly reducing Bao Bao’s Health Pool.

Seeing this, Lu Fan furrowed his brow and immediately commanded Xiao Cui to release Jade Light to help Bao Bao remove the flames on his body.

Xiao Cui’s Jade Light possessed the ability to Cleanse all Debuffs. If this flame was a type of Burn Effect, it should be directly Cleared by Xiao Cui’s Skill.

However, the Jade Light released by Xiao Cui had just descended when it was evaporated into nothing by the flames on Bao Bao’s skin. It was fundamentally unable to affect Bao Bao.

Because Jade Light could not take effect, there was no way to know whether the flames on Bao Bao’s body were a Skill or a Debuff.

But regardless of what it was, right now, these flames left Lu Fan at a loss.

Lu Fan even thought of having Lin Dong release her Skill on Bao Bao, using ice to restrain the flames, maybe even extinguishing it.

However, after Lin Dong’s Skill fell on Bao Bao, the result was the same. They were directly evaporated into nothingness.

It seemed like this flame was above all Elements. Not to mention ice, even water would be evaporated by it. It was fundamentally difficult to find any method to restrain it.

Debuff Removal Skills were ineffective. Ice Element Skills were also ineffective.

And Bao Bao himself did not have any Invulnerability Skills like Golden Form. There was fundamentally no solution.

Lu Fan even felt that even if Bao Bao could use Golden Form, these flames would not be extinguished because of it.

As soon as the Invulnerability time ended, Bao Bao would still die.

These flames truly lived up to being products of Ancient God Power, and moreover from a High Tier Ancient God.

Indeed, powerful and unsolvable, it truly gave Lu Fan quite a headache.

But at the same time, Lu Fan also noticed that the Ancient God Power within the Purgatory Overlord’s body was continuously decreasing during the process of the flames burning.

Clearly, the Ancient God Power within her was being constantly consumed.

If it was not maintained with Ancient God Power, then the flames should be extinguished very quickly.

Otherwise, if Ancient God Power was only used to cast a Skill that could cause such terrifying unremovable Damage, pretty much certain death upon contact, then this Ancient God should not be a High Tier Ancient God. In fact, it had the power to directly become a God King, and an unquestionable God King at that.

Under the continuous scorching of the flames, Bao Bao’s Health was rapidly declining.

After a moment of consideration, Lu Fan simply stopped wasting too much time and energy on Bao Bao.

Since he could not save him, then he best not waste more time on what would not change the battle situation.

Therefore, Lu Fan simply abandoned Bao Bao, letting him fend for himself, and instead commanded the other Pet Dragons to continue fiercely attacking the Purgatory Overlord.

Since her Skill releases were all supported by Ancient God Power, then the only way to defeat her was either to have her consume all the Ancient God Power, or to seize the moment when she was not paying attention and instant-kill her before she could use Ancient God Power to protect herself.

And the latter was clearly too difficult.

Ye Sha’s earlier sneak attack had already alerted the Purgatory Overlord, making her constantly on guard against attacks from all directions.

She was a Divine Being, even without Ancient God Power. Her Attributes and Level were already sky-high.

If he did not use a World Destroying Dragon Language Forbidden Spell, Lu Fan truly had no confidence he could instant-kill her with a single Skill.

And the casting process for a World Destroying Dragon Language Forbidden Spell was too long. The Purgatory Overlord was not blind, how could she not detect him casting it in advance?

Once she discovered a Pet Dragon was casting a World Destroying Dragon Language Forbidden Spell, she would certainly release her Skills to counterattack.

At that time, flames carrying Ancient God Power would burn everything down. Even the World Destroying Dragon Language Forbidden Spell before it could take shape. In fact, even if casted, it would probably be directly burned away by those flames.

Using some instant-cast Skill and getting a jump on her might be possible if they found an opening. It could potentially severely wound her. But even if she did not block, she could similarly use Ancient God Power to Heal herself back to peak condition.

Overall, wanting to kill her before her Ancient God Power was exhausted was almost impossible.

Looking at it this way, Lu Fan was glad that what he faced was not a true Ancient God.

If the opponent were a true Ancient God with endless Ancient God Power surging from within their body, then wanting to kill such an opponent would probably require him to spend a tremendous amount of time and effort.

Thinking of this, Lu Fan directly had Xiao Cui cast Jade Mirror Image, creating over a dozen Mirror Image Projections of himself and all the Pet Dragons.

These Mirror Image Projections did not have the same Combat Power of their originals, but they were all Mirror Image Projections of Pet Dragons. Even a Mirror Image Projection’s Damage Output could not be underestimated. It was not something the Purgatory Overlord could ignore.

Not only that, but the greatest use of Jade Mirror Image was that it could obstruct the Purgatory Overlord’s line of sight.

If she released her Skills again and they landed on Mirror Image Projections, that would be equivalent to wasting Ancient God Power for nothing.

And the real Lu Fan and his Pet Dragon would be in a much safer condition.

For a time, all around were figures of Lu Fan and the Pet Dragons. All the Giant Dragons were mixed together. Fundamentally, it was extremely difficult to distinguish who was the original and who was a Mirror Image Projection.

Seeing this, the Purgatory Overlord indeed revealed a grave expression. One could tell she found Lu Fan’s tactics truly troublesome to deal with.

The next round of attacks from all the Giant Dragons descended once more. The Purgatory Overlord did not dare Tank them head-on. While dodging, she released more Ancient God Power to block.

Based on the Skills’ strength and weakness, the Purgatory Overlord could distinguish who was real and who wasn’t. But with so many Pet Dragons present, and attacking while rapidly moving, even though she was a Divine Being, she ultimately could not remember which one was the original.

Due to frustration, the Purgatory Overlord roared continuously, always in a passive position.

However, she quickly seized an opportunity. A fireball was spat out, precisely hitting Lin Dong, who was about to attack.

Because this time, the Purgatory Overlord had specifically paid attention to the Damage of the Skills attacking her, so she found the actual Lin Dong.

This fireball enveloped Lin Dong. The earlier scene repeated itself. Lin Dong struggled continuously but was always unable to shake off the flames on her body.
