Chapter 118, Clues from the Flying Dragon Cemetery

As soon as these words were spoken, many people looked at the big screen and found it to be true.

The team composed of Jiang Fengyun, ranked third, and Xu Jing, ranked fourth, was number 15. Although they were quite far from Lu Fan, if both teams continued to win, they would meet in the fourth round at the latest!

In this freshmen exam, the most popular teams were undoubtedly Lu Fan, Chen Tianzhi, and the two teams from Wind Cloud Pavilion.

Now, the battle of two Dragons had ended with Lu Fan’s overwhelming victory. So what everyone was looking forward to next was naturally Lu Fan’s confrontation with Wind Cloud Pavilion.

They wanted to specifically see the head-on collision with Jiang Fengyun’s team from Wind Cloud Pavilion with Lu Fan’s team.

The semifinals matches were one round per day. If nothing unexpected happened, Lu Fan and Jiang Fengyun would become opponents on the fourth day.

People wondered if Lu Fan would crush Jiang Fengyun and Xu Jing like he had crushed Chen Tianzhi.

All at once, many people started looking forward to the match four days later. After all, the match between Lu Fan and Jiang Fengyun could be considered the final for this freshmen exam.

One team was a combination of the first and second ranked, while the other was a combination of the third and fourth ranked. Both were very strong, and it would surely be a fierce battle, probably even more exciting than today’s supposed battle of two Dragons.

As the freshmen exam continued, Lu Fan had already gone to Zhao Shengming’s office.

Zhao Shengming was not in charge of the freshmen exam; he had only come to the arena to call Lu Fan away.

In the office.

“… You want me to give up the freshmen exam!?” Lu Fan was surprised and could not understand why Zhao Shengming would suddenly make such a request.

Zhao Shengming nodded, his expression helpless. “That’s right.”

“But didn’t you say that my performance in the freshmen exam is very important, that the Principal would be paying attention, and that I should bring back the championship?”

Zhao Shengming said, “Actually, the Principal watched your match today from start to finish earlier. When you used two powerful Dragon Language Magic Skills, he determined that your potential was even greater than he had imagined, and he became even more supportive of letting you participate in the National Trial.”

Hearing this, Lu Fan was even more confused: “Then why ask me to give up on the freshmen exam?”

Zhao Shengming smiled and said, “This is unavoidable because there’s a conflict in the timing for some events.”

As he spoke, Zhao Shengming did not wait for Lu Fan to ask. He took out a stack of documents from his desk and explained proactively, “As I said before, to help you quickly get stronger and participate in the National Trial, the University has already started preparing exclusive educational resources for you. Recently, the Secret Realm Hunters Guild has announced a new batch of discovered Secret Realms. This batch of Secret Realms will all be auctioned the day after tomorrow. The day after that, successful bidders can obtain the coordinates of the Secret Realms, go to clear them, and get huge amounts of Experience, equipment, and so on.”

“Secret Realm Hunters!?” Lu Fan’s eyes lit up as soon as he heard this. He had heard of the Secret Realm Hunters before. Although it sounded similar to Monster Material Hunters, Secret Realm Hunters held a much higher status and were more professional.

So-called Monster Material Hunters were just Profession Change Players who went to the Wilderness to hunt Monsters for materials to sell. The threshold to become one was extremely low, and it was a mixed bag. Non-Combat Specialised Profession Change Players could become a Monster Material Hunter.

But Secret Realm Hunters were different. Those who could become Secret Realm Hunters were all experts, able to travel into Forbidden Areas where others could not go, and find newly generated Secret Realms or Dungeon Instances that had never been explored before in rarely visited places.

Not only were they powerful, but fifty years ago, they had also established a Secret Realm Hunters Guild. This Guild was specialising in exploring Secret Realms and Dungeon Instances in the Wilderness, earning high rewards by selling information about the locations of discovered Secret Realms and Dungeon Instances.

To become a true Secret Realm Hunter, one must join the Secret Realm Hunters Guild.

They were very credible and would not engage in scams using false information.

Many private Dungeon Instances in large Families and Universities were bought from the Secret Realm Hunters Guild.

Zhao Shengming nodded, pointing at the documents and said, “That’s right. Secret Realms and Dungeon Instances are always more easily encountered than sought after. Even if the Secret Realm Hunters Guild has them, ordinary people rarely have the channels to purchase them. But, our Dragon Capital University has had a cooperative relationship with the Secret Realm Hunters Guild for many years, so we’ve obtained the qualification for this auction and can bid for one of the Secret Realms.”

“The Principal said that this Secret Realm will be specifically purchased for you to use to get stronger. The information for all the Secret Realms in the auction is here. Take a look and see which one you want to clear, you can tell me. Tomorrow, I can have our teacher in charge of this matter attend the auction. No matter what the cost, they will help you buy the Secret Realm!”

“I see…” Lu Fan was secretly delighted, [Dragon Capital University’s investment in me is truly generous. They are actually willing to buy a Secret Realm specifically for me. Although Secret Realms can’t be cleared repeatedly like Dungeon Instances, the Experience Points and Clear Rewards from Secret Realms were definitely incomparable to Dungeon Instances. Furthermore, the information cost for a Secret Realm would probably be at least 300 million Dragon Coins!]

Lu Fan looked through the list of these Secret Realms, turning the pages while asking, “It’s because of this batch of Secret Realms that you want me to give up the freshmen exam, right?”

Zhao Shengming nodded and said, “That’s right.”

“Originally, the University planned to wait until you finished the freshmen exam before contacting the Secret Realm Hunters Guild to see if there are any suitable Secret Realms for you, and buy it for you. But. this public auction by the Secret Realm Hunters Guild has disrupted our plans. Generally speaking, the Secret Realms in such public auctions are usually higher level than those that can be bought normally, with more generous rewards. We can’t miss such a good opportunity. You also know that Secret Realms usually only last for a certain period of time. If no one clears them, they will disappear and reappear elsewhere. So, it’s not feasible to buy the information for a Secret Realm and have you clear it after you finish the freshman exam. You must choose between the freshmen exam and the Secret Realm. Even if I don’t say anything, you should know which to choose, right?”

Lu Fan nodded. He was not a fool, of course he knew the value of a Secret Realm, which was incomparable to the freshmen exam.

The freshmen exam was, after all, just competing for a few thousand points, and for one’s reputation within the University. However, the rewards in Secret Realms were real Experience Points, equipment, and other special items! Even a fool would not give up the chance to enter a Secret Realm for the sake of the freshmen exam.

Lu Fan looked through the information on each Secret Realm. Indeed, every Secret Realm was very good, at least Difficult or above. There were even several in the Terror and Nightmare difficulty, though they would not be cheap.

After looking through more than half, Lu Fan found it hard to choose. However, as he turned another page, four words caught his eye and made his pupils dilate, ‘Flying Dragon Cemetery!’

Lu Fan was stunned, then quietly opened his System Panel and found the Peak Grade Treasure Map he had been thinking about.

[The location marked on the coordinates of the Treasure Map is really in the Flying Dragon Cemetery! To think the Flying Dragon Cemetery is actually a Secret Realm!?] Lu Fan was surprised and overjoyed. He never expected to find the location for claiming his Peak Grade Treasure Map so quickly.

This was a Peak Grade Treasure Map! Although not as good as a Divine Grade Treasure Map, it was still better than a High Grade Treasure Map!

Last time, with a High Grade Treasure Map, Lu Fan had claimed the Skill Book for Accelerated Growth Aura, which was extremely useful and powerful.

[What would a Peak Grade Treasure Map yield? Even if it doesn’t produce a Mythical Grade Dragon Egg, getting Skill Books or equipment would still net me a huge profit! A Peak Grade Treasure Map is sure to produce amazing items!]

Seeing Lu Fan’s strange expression, Zhao Shengming looked at the document in Lu Fan’s hand and asked, “What? Are you interested in this Secret Realm?”

Lu Fan nodded and, without looking at the other Secret Realms, made his decision: “Vice Principal Zhao, I want this one!”

“Flying Dragon Cemetery?” Zhao Shengming took the document, looked at it, and frowned.

“A Level 55, Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm? In terms of both level and difficulty, it’s one of the highest among this batch of Secret Realms to be auctioned.”

He put down the document and hesitated, saying, “You haven’t had your Second Profession Change yet. Isn’t clearing a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm a bit too much for you? Although this Secret Realm is very expensive, our University doesn’t lack funds. I’m just worried that you can’t clear it. Not only will we be wasting a large sum of money, but you might also get hurt, and lose the opportunity of clearing other Secret Realms for nothing. There are several other Secret Realms that are also in the Nightmare difficulty, just at Level 45. Those should be more suitable for you…”

“Vice Principal Zhao, I choose this one!” Lu Fan’s attitude was very firm. “Don’t worry, a Level 55 Nightmare difficulty Secret Realm is not a problem for me. I’m confident I can clear it.”

After a pause, Lu Fan added, “This Secret Realm might be very helpful for improving my Profession Characteristics. Even if there are other better Secret Realms to choose from, I think this one is the best for me.”

Hearing this, Zhao Shengming pondered. [From the document, this Secret Realm, Flying Dragon Cemetery, does seem to have some connection to Dragons. Since Lu Fan is a Dragon Tamer, maybe this Secret Realm could really provide him with more than meets the eye?]

Zhao Shengming did not try to persuade him further. He nodded and said, “Alright, we’ll do as you say. I’ll have someone notify the relevant parties right away. No matter what, we must secure the Flying Dragon Cemetery Secret Realm for you tomorrow!”

“En, thank you very much, Vice Principal Zhao.” Lu Fan smiled, then looked at the Secret Realm requirements for the Flying Dragon Cemetery and narrowed his eyes, exclaiming, “So, the Flying Dragon Cemetery requires a minimum of two people to enter, huh? What is the University’s arrangement for the other person who is going with me into this Secret Realm?”
