Worthless Profession: Dragon Tamer

Chapter 105, The Total Score Is Just That Much, I Can’t Do Anything About It

Translator: Silavin

Seeing Tao Xiaoman’s curious and pleading eyes, Lu Fan thought for a moment and decided to tell her.

“With all Buffs applied, her Mana Attribute is over 10,000.”

“…10,000!? Above?!” Not just Tao Xiaoman, but everyone felt silent, utterly stunned.

This was a five-digit Attribute value!? From a Level 17 Baby Dragon!!! Who would believe this if told!?

What does Level 17 mean? Tao Xiaoman was just Level 17 when she entered this Dungeon Instance. As a Swordsman, Tao Xiaoman had three Silver equipment, and she had also drunk many Potions to increase her Strength. So, her Strength Attribute was very high. Otherwise, she would not have been admitted to Dragon Capital University.

For Humans, Tao Xiaoman was already considered one of the top Players for her Level but how much was her raw Strength Attribute?

It was only about 230 points. Even if Xiao Cui Buffed her, it would not reach 300.

For an ordinary Swordsman, reaching 100 in their Strength Attribute at Level 17, under extreme conditions, was already considered amazing.

But Xiao Cui’s highest Attribute could reach five digits! Was the Dragon Race really this absurd!?

It was now not a surprise how a Level 45 Terror Boss, along with countless Mobs, could be killed in one move. With these Attributes, killing a Level 45 Boss was like fighting from a higher dimension!

At this moment, Xiao Ye was already nestled on Lu Fan’s shoulder, looking completely harmless. Her Destruction Dragon Form from earlier was too shocking for everyone. Now, no one dared to underestimate this Little Dragon anymore.

Jian Ying felt the same. In fact, she had always been very confident in her own Combat Power before, but during this Dungeon Instance run, Lu Fan had repeatedly shattered her confidence. When she heard that Xiao Ye’s Mana Attribute was over 10,000, she clearly knew that there was an unbridgeable gap between herself and Lu Fan.

She suddenly remembered that Lu Fan had over 13,000 points, which meant his major exam score was around 1.3 million!

Thinking back to her own major exam score, it was half of Lu Fan’s, but in terms of actual Combat Power, could she even reach half of Lu Fan’s Combat Power? It would be difficult to reach even one-tenth!

Thinking of this, Jian Ying’s expression became complicated. She looked at Lu Fan and said, “Your major exam score shouldn’t be merely 1.3 million points.”

Lu Fan smiled and spread his hands, saying, “Well, I can’t do anything about that. I already chose the Nightmare difficulty and cleared everything, but they only gave me 1.3 million points.”

The implication was clear – it was not that he wanted to score this little, but the total score for the major exam reached only that much. That he could do nothing about it.

These words left Jian Ying speechless. If someone had said that the Terror difficulty major exam had limited their maximum score, Jian Ying would not have said anything. For her, the total score for the Terror difficulty major exam was indeed too low, only about 200,000 points even if fully cleared.

If she had chosen Terror difficulty, even getting a perfect score would not be reflective of her true ability. That was why she chose Nightmare difficulty, eventually stopping at the eighty-something floor. Even when she had not cleared the whole Nightmare difficulty, her score was still much higher than what she would have gotten from clearing Terror difficulty.

Jian Ying knew how incredibly difficult the Nightmare difficulty was. At the time, she thought no one in the world could clear it.

But Lu Fan, this prodigy, appeared. Not only did he clear the supposedly hardest South Province Nightmare difficulty major exam, but he even said the exam’s total score limited his major exam score!

How could anyone even argue this point? There was basically no room for argument, because what Lu Fan said was actually true!

Just based on the Black Dragon’s Great Cataclysm earlier, Jian Ying felt that multiplying Lu Fan’s major exam score by ten would not be excessive.

A strong sense of defeat rose in Jian Ying’s heart. It was from this moment that Lu Fan’s image in her heart had been completely overturned. At this point, with the death of the Shrieking Broodmother, the Dungeon Instance had been officially Cleared.

The mission in the Mission Panel was now shown as Cleared, and a large amount of Experience Points flowed into everyone.

This time, even Jian Ying’s body flashed with golden light. Like Lu Fan, she had reached Level 22.

The only one who did not Level up was Lu Fan, who felt somewhat depressed. However, sensing the amount of Experience Points he had gained, Lu Fan knew he was close to the limit. He estimated that after another run of the Poison Spider Forest, he would reach Level 23.

After the Experience Point Reward was given, at the place where the Shrieking Broodmother died, streams of white light suddenly gathered and flew in front of everyone.

Instantly, everyone was delighted. Their luck was really good, they even got extra Dungeon Instance Rewards!

Theoretically, public Dungeon Instances like this one had been cleared countless times. The more times a Dungeon Instance gets cleared, the less energy it contains. Although the Experience Points given would not change, the rewards would become less and less.

It was very normal to get nothing after clearing a public Dungeon Instance. Getting extra rewards was like winning the lottery.

This time, the group only got one reward from clearing the Dungeon Instance. Compared to Secret Realms like Despair Village, it was certainly far inferior, but having a reward was better than nothing.

No one moved, clearly indicating that the reward should be distributed by the team leader.

Seeing this, Lu Fan did not decline. He stepped forward and waved his hand to disperse the white light, revealing the equipment wrapped inside – a pair of boots.

Dull Poison Spider Combat Boots (Silver Equipment Set)
Required Level: 20

Strength +21

Agility +25

Poison Resistance +10

Equipment Set Bonus:

Poison Resistance +50 (1/2)

Additional Skill: Web Spray (Active Skill) – Can release a large web, trapping enemies (1/4)

Although these boots were Silver, they added both Strength and Agility Attributes, making them an excellent item.

More importantly, this was part of a Silver Equipment Set. Collecting two pieces of the Equipment Set would add a total of 60 points of Poison Resistance, which was not much.

But if all four pieces of the Equipment Set could be collected, it would provide a Crowd Control Skill, which was quite practical. It could catch opponents off guard during PvP.

Lu Fan already had Flash Spirit Boots, so he naturally did not care about these boots. Among the team members, no one wore heavy armour equipment, so the best recipient for this item was undoubtedly Tao Xiaoman.

Tao Xiaoman did not seem to have any good boots, so this Silver equipment would be good for her.

So, Lu Fan directly tossed the Dim Poison Spider Boots to Tao Xiaoman, saying, “Tao Zi, this equipment is for you. At the rate we’re clearing Dungeon Instances, it won’t be long before you reach Level 20 and can equip it.”

Tao Xiaoman hugged the boots, her happy face flushed red. Her words contradicted her actions as she smiled and said, “Dang. I didn’t expect that I, who slacked off the most, would be able to get this only piece of equipment. I feel really embarrassed taking this.”

Lu Fan immediately laughed. “Come on, you don’t look embarrassed at all? Maybe because this Dungeon Instance has been cleared too many times, the equipment reward’s Level isn’t that high. But, that’s fine though. If we were given Level 45 equipment, who knows when we’d be able to wear them.”

“Later, let’s specifically clear this Dungeon Instance some more. If we’re lucky, we might be able to get the Complete Equipment Set before the freshmen exam. It should give you a significant boost in Combat Power.”

“En-nmm!” Tao Xiaoman nodded repeatedly, grinning at Lu Fan. “Thank you, Lu Fan. Oh right, and thank you too, Jian Ying, hehe.”

Lu Fan looked at the time and realised that the group had indeed spent a long time in this Dungeon Instance. By now, it was probably dark outside.

Although this Dungeon Instance provided a ton of Experience Points, it was indeed time-consuming. They could probably only clear it twice a day, or just once if they had classes.

After such a long battle, everyone was quite tired. Seeing that the Transport Array to leave the Dungeon Instance had already opened, Lu Fan was about to ask everyone to exit the Dungeon Instance and return to their lodgings to rest, then come back tomorrow to do another run.

But just as Lu Fan was about to speak, he suddenly remembered Xiao Cui seemed to have reached Level 5 earlier after killing all the Monsters.

He wondered if there were any special changes in Xiao Cui’s Attributes after reaching Level 5.

Lu Fan remembered that when Xiao Ye reached Level 5 before, all her Skill Levels had increased, resulting in a leap in strength.

So, Lu Fan opened the Attribute Panel and pulled up Xiao Cui’s Attributes.
