Chapter 1501: Chapter 516: Ancient Sea Beast Glasers

The arrival of the Federation’s strong men became the last straw that compelled Egil to retreat instead of continuing his occupation of the island for further search. Just as he planned to order all his subordinates to retreat, suddenly, a Flying Fish Knight flew rapidly over and bowed to report:

”Pope, Vice Pope Meck has returned.”

”Lord Meck successfully released the giant beast Glasers from the Sealing Gate, and it’s about five nautical miles away from here.”

”Great! Haha, indeed my Lord blesses us!” The Sea God Sect Pope Egil couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Upon hearing the news, the high-ranking Evil Sorcerers behind Egil also breathed a sigh of relief.

Despite the Federation Sword Saint being formidable, the power of their Sea God Sect was far beyond what appeared. If it were not for the two epic-level strong men leading the exploration of various Sealing Gates and ruins and not returning in time, the Empire Delegation might have been completely annihilated.

Of course, this was completely unanticipated.

After all, once obtaining the body of the ancient mermaid princess Niruela as the vessel for their Goddess’s descent, they never considered the risk of any error occurring.

”The terrifying ancient Sea Beast known as ’Grathes the Smoldering Eel’ has also been released? Haha, that’s excellent, just right to test our skills on the Federation Sword Saint before us.”

”Hmm, now that Lord Meck is here too, we have no need to retreat.”

”Exactly, a perfect opportunity for the Federation to witness the strength of our sect.”

The Evil Sorcerers began discussing spiritedly.

Grathes is an unusually giant ancient eel, with purple streaks along its body that are actually natural patterns formed from concentrated high-energy currents. When released, it doesn’t just stun its enemies into unconsciousness but electrocutes them until they catch fire, burning them to ashes.

Hence, Grathes earned the nickname ’Smoldering Eel.’

Moreover, it relishes devouring enemies, as ancient texts record that even grey whales tens of meters long are swallowed whole.

In the ancient oceans, the areas where Grathes dwelled were devoid of any large marine life, its fearsome reputation on par with the ’Leviathan Giant Whale.’

However, having been sealed for so long, its current power naturally doesn’t measure up to its peak, but to extinguish a Sword Saint is more than doable, in the eyes of the Evil Sorcerers.

...

On Sword Saint Terrio’s side.

He swiftly defeated a batch of Flying Fish and Manta Knights sent by the Sea God Sect to intercept him, then immediately headed towards the Dragon Knight Reginald and the remnants of the Empire’s airship fleet.

”Crown Reginald, where are Prince Menia and Lord Rein?” Terrio appeared anxious and asked.

As fate would have it, two days prior, after parting ways with Rein, Terrio headed north from Zetaya, but along the way, he received urgent intelligence that the Military Department-led exploration of the Floating City Ruins had suffered severe casualties.

This surprised Terrio, and he had to pause his northern advance.

Soon, he received a letter from Vice Speaker Bertrand, representing the Federation Congress, and after some deliberation, Terrio turned back to Zetaya.

Whether to accept or decline, it seemed better to discuss face-to-face with Vice Speaker Bertrand representing the Federation Congress.

However, before he could meet Bertrand, he received news that the Empire Delegation had been heavily ambushed by the Sea God Sect near the coastal seas, and Terrio immediately disregarded physical strength and rushed over with all his might.

He shared a deep connection with Rein, despite the significant age difference. Rein’s strength and character made Terrio genuinely respect him.

But upon arriving at the scene, Terrio discovered the intensity of the battle far exceeded his imagination.

”Prince Menia has most likely... perished, and as for Lord Rein, his fate remains unknown...” Reginald said these words with difficulty.

Upon hearing this news, even with Sword Saint Terrio’s robust heart, it clenched tightly!

”What!!”

”Prince Menia has perished? Are you certain?”

”I didn’t witness it personally, but the last, extremely powerful Fire Element energy wave of witchcraft should have been released by Prince Menia when severely injured. I can’t think of any other possibility!” Reginald shook his head and said in a deep voice.

Soon, Reginald narrated his analysis, and Terrio, upon hearing it, nodded with a grim expression.

”Alas... this...” Terrio couldn’t help but let out a heavy sigh.

As the Federation and the Empire had just signed a cooperation agreement, prospects were looking immensely promising. But the Empire Delegation was ambushed by the Sea God Sect at the edge of Federation territorial waters, with Red Queen Menia falling!

Though it was the Sea God Sect’s doing, what would the Empire perceive this as?

Would they suspect the Federation of feigning cooperation while secretly colluding with those cults wreaking havoc within the Empire Territory to attack and kill Empire strongmen?

Furthermore, with Menia’s noble beauty and unparalleled elegance, such a stunningly extraordinary figure falling here left Terrio truly feeling it’s a tremendous loss!

However, facing the ambush led by the Nether Sea Goddess’s avatar and the Sea God Sect’s main forces, for Prince Menia and Lord Rein to fight them to this extent demonstrates astonishing strength!

”And what about Lord Rein? Unknown fate? Has he been found?” Terrio eagerly inquired again.

”Currently, we haven’t found Lord Rein’s body yet. I suspect he likely hid somewhere while heavily injured, probably somewhere on this island before us.”
