Chapter 1484: Chapter 510: Origin of the Black Mist

”Hehe, it seems our Dean Haleem has quite an approval for Lord Rein of the Empire.” Councilor Nelson said with an awkward smile, as if trying to smooth things over for General Randall.

”That’s not the point. The question now is, how do we proceed with the exploration of the Floating City Ruins?” Trena said from the side.

Due to the significant issues that arose from the preliminary exploration led by the Military Department, at this moment, neither General Randall nor Councilor Nelson took the initiative to respond to Trena’s inquiries.

”Councilor Trena, do you have any good suggestions?” Vice Speaker Bertrand said in a deep voice.

”I suggest immediately having Lord Sword Saint Terrio return to the cavern camp. As a Federation powerhouse with previous experience in Floating City explorations, it would be more appropriate for him to oversee the preliminary phase.”

”Additionally, I suggest setting up a large scale Defensive Witch Array around the Floating City to prevent those mechanical monsters, resembling swift dragon forms, from charging out of the Floating City.”

Councilor Nelson furrowed his brow, questioning:

”Councilor Trena, do you know how vast the area that the Floating City occupies is? This will consume a tremendous amount of the Federation’s material resources and manpower.”

”Of course, but Councilor Nelson, have you considered how to deal with it if these mechanical monsters do rush out of the Floating City?” Trena countered sharply.

”Fine, even if Councilor Trena, you have a valid point, what about the exploration efforts? Is the preliminary exploration not going to be conducted?” Nelson continued.

”Even if it is to be conducted, my opinion is that Lord Terrio should lead, limited to activities on the negative first layer of the Floating City ruins, and be prepared for withdrawal at any time.”

”Once we have gathered enough powerhouses, then we will consider deeper exploration.”

”Especially Lord Haleem, if he can successfully advance to Dawn Wizard, he would become the Federation’s second Metal Series Dawn Wizard, greatly benefiting the subsequent exploration of the Floating City Ruins. Everyone should not forget that Lord Rein of the Empire is a Metal Series Dawn Wizard.”

Trena’s words instantly made Councilor Nelson and General Randall feel as uncomfortable as if they had swallowed a dead fly, yet they couldn’t think of a suitable angle to refute at that moment.

”Then it’s settled for now! Councilor Trena, please immediately contact Lord Sword Saint Terrio.”

”Additionally, General Randall, you and I need to immediately return to Antuhohl. We both need to face questioning from the Federation Congress.” Vice Speaker Bertrand said solemnly, his expression not looking good.

Because of the failure of this action by the Military Department, he would also have to return and explain to the Federation Congress.

Of course, this does not mean that it is his responsibility, but rather the normal procedure of facing questioning after a major event, which is an important system within the Federation.

The death of two Federation powerhouses during the exploration of the ruins is undoubtedly a shocking event for the Federation!

...

Meanwhile.

High above the boundless Summer Sea.

The Imperial Airship formation had just set out not long ago, with the Federation’s major city Zetaya gradually disappearing from the view of everyone aboard the airship.

Rein and Menia were currently on one side of the flagship’s deck, admiring the distant scenery while chatting leisurely in the sea breeze.

”Something quite significant must have just happened within the Federation—I saw a change in Bertrand’s expression,” Menia said lightly.

”Prince Menia, you noticed too?” Rein smiled.

”Yes, no rush, the intelligence department should soon deliver the news.”

”By the way, Rein, how did the exploration of the ruins go this time?”

”Prince Menia, fortunately, I discovered the Fifth Layer of the Steel Heart Advanced Meditation Method.”

”Oh? That’s indeed great news. I wonder how happy Moria will be upon hearing this. Also, the Empire should soon have a new major school.”

Menia’s beautiful eyes gazed at Rein, as she gently tucked the light red strands of hair behind her ear, smiling.

Rein, however, was momentarily dazed by Menia’s unexpected smile, additionally noticing for the first time that Menia’s beautiful eyes seemed to hold more than just appreciation.

He previously assumed that Menia, as a representative of the Imperial Royal Family, held admiration and expectation for future stars like him within the Empire.

But now it seems, perhaps not entirely, at least towards him, it seems not solely so.

There is a certain....

Nevertheless, Rein did not let his gaze linger for long, nodding quickly:

”Hehe, indeed, the Sect Leader Moria will be very pleased.”

”As for establishing a major school, once we return, I believe the Sect Leader Moria will likely represent the Bixiu Mechanization School and apply to the Empire for elevation to a major school.”

”By the way, Prince Menia, perhaps you aren’t aware, but that particular ruin is actually an intact Floating City from the Ancient Goblin Empire,” Rein suddenly recalled something and explained.

”Hmm? Floating City?” With a typically calm expression, Menia’s majestic demeanor changed slightly as her beautiful eyes widened slightly.

”Yes, it’s the capital of the Ancient Goblins, and at the same time, it is a truly awe-inspiring Floating City, within it....”

Immediately, Rein began to detail his experiences during this journey, henceforth omitting the secretive contents recorded in the Black Diary, such as the origin of the Steel Heart Meditation Method from the Ancient Goblin Empire.

”By the way, Prince Menia, I encountered a type of black mist within, capable of transforming into any entity—it was quite troublesome.”

”Additionally, according to the relics recorded on the deceased Ancient Wizards during the exploration, they refer to this type of black mist as Fiend Demon. Do you know of the origins of this thing referred to as Fiend Demon?” Rein finally asked the question he had long wanted to inquire about.
