Chapter 1468: Chapter 504: Black Mist (Part 2)

On the other side of the corridor.

The female Goblin interrogator, previously impaled and suspended in mid-air, suddenly pulled out the whip from her waist, wrapped it around the prison grille, and pulled hard to release herself from the metal spikes.

Though she lost a lot of black blood, her movements remained agile.

With a short leap, she charged at Rein, shaking her long whip to release it from the prison grille, snapping it towards Rein like a striking serpent.

”Seems like I must engage now.” Rein, unsure of the properties of the black mist, had always avoided close combat with enemies tainted by it.

But this time, it was nearly unavoidable.

Facing attacks from both sides, Rein’s arms suddenly swelled several times larger, with dark silver scales emerging on the surface; the most significant change was at the end of the arms—turning into sharp claws dozens of centimeters long.

Rein chose to partially undergo Dragon Vein Transformation.

Simultaneously, the high resistance from the Dragon Bloodline was a key factor in his confidence to engage in melee without fearing the mysterious black mist.

”Clang!!!”

At the moment of collision between sharp horns and fierce Dragon Claws, sparks flew and a clear metallic sound echoed.

In an instant, the powerful charge of the ancient Minotaur was halted single-handedly by Rein’s massive Dragon Claw, unable to break through despite the Minotaur’s strong black hooves fiercely stomping on one side.

”Open!!!”

With a roar, Rein’s muscular Dragon arm flung the charging ancient Minotaur aside with a single hand.

The sturdy Minotaur’s body flew backward like a cannonball, crashing heavily into the human Wizard casting magic, and the two of them tumbled to the ground like rolling gourds.

Around the human Wizard, the multitude of metal spikes poised to strike fell with a series of ’ding ding clang clang’ sounds after losing their energy support.

”Snap!”

A sharp whip crack sounded from the other side.

A fierce gust approached!

But Rein was prepared; the reason he used only one Dragon Claw against the Minotaur was to keep the other ready for the attack from the female Goblin interrogator.

As the whip lashed out like lightning, Rein’s Dragon Claw seized it firmly, yanking the opponent towards him.

Whether due to the influence of the black mist, the opponent stubbornly refused to let go.

This allowed Rein, after winning the struggle, to easily hurl her like a chain ball towards the rising Minotaur and human Wizard.

”Boom!!!”

Though the female Goblin was small, her solid frame was not light, and Rein’s throw was formidable; when the three collided, they rolled together on the ground once more.

When the three rose again, a buzzing sound echoed from the mid-air.

Something was spinning at high speed!

From their perspective, a line several meters long flashed towards them like lightning.

But from the side, it was clear.

A dark silver metal disc with a bright edge was flying parallel to the ground, rapidly shooting towards the three.

”Whizz! Whizz!”

A series of cutting sounds followed.

Subsequently, whether it be the female Goblin interrogator or the ancient Minotaur, even the shriveled human Wizard, all three bodies of varying sizes became motionless.

This silence persisted for about a second before any changes occurred.

The female Goblin interrogator’s body had been unevenly sliced into three parts; her head and upper body fell to the ground, while her leaned over pelvis was cut off separately, leaving two short legs still upright.

As she was cut by the ’Blade-toothed Disc’ while leaning sideways, her posture was rather ungraceful.

The ancient Minotaur was more neatly split; its tall body toppled to both sides, evenly cleaved in half, with the uncut curved horn now trimmed.

Now, both horns were stumps.

As for the human Wizard, not aligned with the Minotaur and female Goblin, merely had a slanting slice through most of his head, leaving the majority of his body intact.

”Thud!”

As the desiccated human Wizard’s body finally hit the ground, Rein remained still, not moving forward to check the human Wizard, but instead squinted, watching ahead with an even more solemn expression than before.

At this moment,

Two wisps of black mist seeped from the remnants of the ancient minotaur and the female goblin interrogator. Due to their close proximity, they intertwined rapidly, forming a larger, pulsating mass of black mist.

At this moment, a black beetle seemed to be summoned from within the half-severed head of the human wizard, transforming into a black arc that merged into the continually surging black mist.

With the beetle’s addition, the agitation of the mist intensified, resembling oil splattering in a blazing fire. Something bizarre rolled within the black mist.

Suddenly, a black claw extended from within!

Rein focused his gaze, noticing that the claw closely resembled an eagle’s talon, skeletal yet exceptionally sharp and forceful. However, it was completely black, shrouded in clouds of dark mist, as if emerging from hell.

The appearance of this single claw was merely the beginning of the drastic change within the mist, as another black claw quickly emerged.

”An eagle? A raptor form?”

But in the next instant, the subsequent transformation disproved Rein’s speculation.

Within the mist, four black scythe-like limbs, resembling a mantis’s forelimbs, rapidly extended in sequence, approximately at where the chest would be.

”Arms turned into scythes?”

At this point, there was no longer any need for Rein to speculate.

The entire figure had already emerged from the black mist.

Rein became increasingly cautious.

It was his first time seeing such a terrifyingly designed creature. The entity had no arms, but instead four black scythes on each side, with a pair of black claws on the lower body, and its head bristled with spikes, a mouth full of dense, sharp teeth.

It was shrouded in black mist, its form flickering in and out of view.

This was truly an entity that shouldn’t exist in reality, as if an abstract concept had manifested before Rein.

Furthermore, from the moment it appeared, Rein’s inner alarm bell rang loudly. The last time such an occurrence happened since he became a Dawn Wizard was when he faced the ancient fire dragon, ’Anguskin’.

”Could it be that this monster’s difficulty rivals that of Anguskin?”

”Indeed, this black mist is highly problematic.”

”It’s certainly this black mist that caused the fall of the ancient Goblin Empire’s capital.”

Before Rein could ponder further, the black monster swiftly launched an attack.

”Hiss~~”

The creature opened its large mouth and emitted a harsh screeching sound, much like the wails of spirits, that seemed to have a disorienting effect on the mind.

Simultaneously,

The sharp claws of the entity pierced several inches into the metallic ground with each step, moving with lightning speed. As it neared Rein, it abruptly released a conical spray of black mist toward him.

”Sss!”

At this time, multiple parts of Rein’s body had transformed into that of a giant dragon, with a Void Dragon’s Head and a Red Dragon’s Head growing from his neck.

Facing the black mist spray, Rein immediately countered with Dragon’s Breath!

”Roar!!!”

”Fiery Breath!” A fiery blaze erupted from the Red Dragon’s Head, swiftly expanding from the width of a bowl to a raging inferno that spanned most of the corridor.

”Void Breath!” The Void Dragon’s Head simultaneously exhaled a pale blue flame, sweeping toward the entity.

”Boom!!!”

The black mist and the two dragon breaths collided ferociously, creating hurricane-like shockwaves that propagated rapidly through the corridor.

Suddenly, a black figure several meters tall leaped from the dust, its four scythe-like forelimbs slicing downwards toward Rein!

Rein’s dragon claws also slashed through the air, attacking back at the entity!

”Zizz~”

Rein’s dragon claws struck squarely against the creature’s black, scale-covered body, causing sparks to fly. The creature’s body was as robust as a specialized alloy, a stark contrast given it was just a black mist a moment ago.

In comparison, Rein’s body bore a new scratch, shallow yet visible, across several dark silver dragon scales. Though no blood was drawn, anyone familiar with the situation would be stunned.

Because, in terms of physical strength, Rein’s dragon form appeared to fall slightly below that of the creature.
