Wizard starting from shoeing donkeys

Chapter 1483: Chapter 509: Pride and Prejudice_3

Did such a Fourth Level Dawn Wizard just die like that?

Actually, there was a bit of coincidence involved here. Elvin was in the process of casting a Fire Element Dawn Killing Move, which required a longer casting time, and he never anticipated the attack would come from beneath the metal ground.

In the end, he over-relied on the combat strength of the two Heavy Knights under his command. In reality, they didn’t even manage to block the opponent for a moment, leaving him no time to evade!

This led to the current situation, which was almost a near-instant kill.

At this moment, the grinding, unpleasant sound of twisting giant metal plates began to emanate from below.

Amidst the metal gap that was cut open, a humongous metallic dinosaur skull, glowing with a dazzling red light, pushed its way out from the dense metal layers below.

The sheer size of this metallic head alone was comparable to a steam locomotive.

...

Zetaya.

Meanwhile, the Empire Delegation’s last stop in the Federation, a half-day inspection in Zetaya, successfully concluded.

Led by Vice Speaker Bertrand, the Federation’s reception staff were bidding farewell to ’Red Queen’ Menia, Rein, and Reginald at the Zetaya airship docking point.

”Thank you, Vice Chairman, for your meticulous arrangements and warm hospitality during this period,” Menia said with a smile.

”It’s my honor, Prince Menia. I look forward to our next meeting,” Bertrand replied with a slight bow.

However, just as Bertrand uttered this last sentence and Menia began to turn and board the airship, an Attendant, with a grave expression, suddenly approached Bertrand and whispered two sentences.

Although Bertrand only nodded and said nothing, Rein could sense that the other person slightly swayed, and the smile on his face instantly became rigid.

Obviously, something significant must have happened.

Once Menia, Rein, and the other Empire Delegation members fully boarded the airship, Bertrand’s face immediately darkened as he tersely ordered the Attendant behind him:

”Immediately notify Congressman Nelson and General Randall to convene for a meeting!”

”By the way, check if Haleem has left. If he hasn’t, notify him to participate as well.”

The beautiful female congressman, Trena, hearing Bertrand’s words, couldn’t help but furrow her brows and lightly inquire, ”Vice Chairman, what happened?”

Bertrand gestured for the nearby attendants and officials to leave, then sighed and said:

”Congresswoman Trena, just now, during the exploration of the Floating City Ruins led by the Military Department, Crown Elvin died on the spot, Sword Saint Guiterrez returned to the camp severely injured and could not be saved, and at present, only Crown Garrett and a few others have survived.”

”What!” Trena exclaimed, covering her mouth in shock.

It’s been a long, long time since the Federation suffered the loss of two Epic-level powerhouses simultaneously.

...

Half an hour later, a high-level secret meeting was held in the special conference room of the Zetaya administrative hall.

After the situation was reported, a pin-drop silence enveloped the scene!

After a while, Trena was the first to speak: ”I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the sacrifice of the two Crowns!”

”But what I want to know is, why was the Military Department’s exploration operation conducted so quickly after our last meeting, taking action the very next day? General Randall, may I ask if the operation had undergone thorough investigation and preparation?”

”The three Federation strongmen have extensive combat experience, and in addition, before officially entering the Floating City Ruins, they reviewed Lord Haleem’s report, so although entering on the second day was a bit fast, I don’t think there was a problem.”

”However, given what happened, we have reason to believe that Lord Rein from the Empire may have done something on the minus two level.” General Randall’s expression was as cold as ice as he spoke.

The death of two Federation Epic-level strongmen with military backgrounds is an extremely significant loss for the military faction.

He had not anticipated the occurrence of such a situation at all.

”This is impossible!”

Seated at the end of the table, Haleem couldn’t help but speak out.

In this high-level meeting, by right, he shouldn’t freely express his opinions given his rank, but he just couldn’t hold back.

”Lord Rein had clearly pointed out not to enter the prison recklessly. I also mentioned this in the report, and it was specifically emphasized...”

At this moment, Nelson knocked his pipe, interrupting Haleem’s speech, squinting his eyes as he said:

”That’s the cleverness of that Lord Rein. He intentionally reminded us of this point because he knew our Federation strongmen would inevitably explore voluntarily later, so he reverse-engineered a trap for us to walk into.”

”I completely disagree!” a mature female voice rang out.

”Then, Lord Nelson, according to what you’re saying, if Lord Rein hadn’t reminded us, would it have been considered deliberate concealment?”

”In that case, isn’t it unreasonable to criticize Lord Rein regardless of whether he reminds us or not?”

Trena’s words rendered Nelson at a momentary loss for what to say.

”Evidently, it’s the Military Department’s rashness that led to this situation, and to blame it on someone’s goodwill reminder is simply shameless,” Haleem stood up angrily and said.

”In the eyes of those biased, everything they see is prejudice!”

”Gentlemen, please excuse me, I must leave now to return to Antuol to prepare for my advancement. Farewell!” Haleem immediately turned to leave.

General Randall’s face turned livid, intending to chastise Haleem, but upon hearing Haleem’s final words ’preparation for advancement’, he opened his mouth to speak but ultimately stayed silent.

Among those present, apart from Bertrand who found out two days ago, the others showed astonishment at the departing Director of the Federation Mechanical Research Institute.

No force or faction wishes to offend an imminently advancing Dawn Wizard.

Especially when the person is a renowned leading scientific researcher in the Federation.
