Chapter 1469: Chapter 505: The Secret of the Ruins

”Clang!!!”

After another intense exchange, the two immediately retreated to more than ten meters apart.

The Black Mist Monster’s lower limb claws hooked onto the metal ground, sparking deeply etched claw marks, quickly neutralizing the recoil force of the collision.

Rein also slightly retreated two steps, readjusting his stance.

With his three pairs of dragon eyes, he assessed the opponent, seeking to find its weakness.

Unfortunately!

From the previous exchange, it seemed that the Black Mist Claw Monster before him, whether in strength, speed, or body durability, surpassed every Fierce Species and Dragon Descendant Rein had ever encountered.

Additionally, the opponent could release a roar with mental interference and a black mist breath similar to Dragon Breath.

This meant the opponent was effective both in close combat and ranged attacks, virtually possessing no weaknesses.

Regarding its resistance to different witchcraft schools?

Rein couldn’t comprehensively test this now.

However, the power of fire seemed to slightly suppress the opponent.

Because Rein had just used two types of breath, and the effect of Fiery Breath seemed slightly superior to that of the Void Breath in harming the enemy.

This suggested that advanced fire element witchcraft might achieve a relatively good enemy kill effect.

”Weak against fire element?”

But the issue was that Rein wasn’t skilled in fire witchcraft, or rather, he hadn’t mastered advanced fire element witchcraft. Using First and Second Level fire element witchcraft in the current battle was virtually meaningless.

”In that case, it’s the perfect opportunity to try the new form.”

At this moment, there was no fear in Rein’s heart; his dragon eyes instead revealed faint excitement, as he had never used it since gaining the Sixth Form after his bloodline concentration upgraded.

The passageway’s space wasn’t enough, so naturally, he wouldn’t choose the complete old dragon form transformation.

However, he could partially transform into an old dragon.

”Sixth Form!”

With Rein’s furious shout, the dragon scales on his body started becoming increasingly black, seemingly reaching a level comparable in color to the Black Mist Monster before him.

His dragon claws grew larger and sharper, each extending over several dozen centimeters, gleaming with a chilling cold light.

On the surface of his partially dragonized body, veins began writhing like earthworms, becoming thicker, and muscles further swelling.

”Is this the effect of strength and agility increasing by thirty percent?”

Rein felt an explosive force surging within his dragonized body.

”Bang!”

With a stomp, the permanently solidified metal ground was crushed into a meter-wide pit as if it were mud, and the rapid friction caused a faint smoke of heat to rise from its surface.

Rein was propelled by the immense counterforce, charging fiercely at his opponent.

The narrow passageway resounded with the howling of airflow behind his transformed form.

The Black Mist Monster apparently hadn’t expected Rein’s speed to increase so dramatically; before it could evade, a massive claw lightning-fast swept down from above.

”Zzz!”

A string of sparks flew!

This time, facing Rein’s claw transformed from the old dragon form, the Black Mist Claw Monster’s right rib area with two scythe-shaped limbs was directly sliced apart, its body violently flung!

Yet Rein’s attack didn’t stop there.

”Roar!!!”

Rein’s Red Dragon’s Head aimed at the airborne Black Mist Claw Monster with a Fiery Breath!

A bowl-sized scorching flame rapidly expanded into a meter-wide conical shape upon leaving the dragon’s mouth, immediately engulfing the enemy entirely.

”Hiss hiss!”

In mid-air, the Black Mist Claw Monster hit by Fiery Breath began to howl in agony.

The Fiery Breath blasted it straight to the passageway’s ceiling, and only after the flames were exhausted did it fall heavily.

Rein could see the black body surface had transformed from scale-like to some sort of black liquid, seemingly softened, emitting wisps of foul-smelling black smoke.

Additionally, possibly from the flame’s damage, Rein could distinctly sense the opponent’s body appearing slightly smaller.

”The effect seems good!”

”Strike while the iron’s hot for the kill!”

Rein never let his enemy catch a breath.

With a whoosh, Rein charged toward the enemy once again.

However, the Black Mist Claw Monster leapt up in response, evidently, Rein’s attack was effective but not fatal.

”Clang! Clang! Zzz!”

A larger and smaller pair of black shadows rapidly moved along the passageway, sparks flying everywhere; there was collision between dragon claws and claws, as well as fierce friction between claws and the metal ground and walls.

The harsh sounds of clashes echoed with the sparks in the air continuously.

Rein was sure that neither Sword Saint Terrio nor Dawn Wizard Hernandez would stand a chance if facing this monster.

Currently, the opponent’s form had changed again, its waist becoming slenderer but its scythe-wielding shoulders wider, corresponding to an apparent increase in strength and speed.

Although the increase was minor, about ten percent or so, it was evident the opponent aimed to counter Rein’s increased attack power by adjusting its body structure.

Yet it seemed Rein’s power surge reached some upper limit for the opponent, for despite the rise in its strength and speed, it remained clearly on the defensive.

Rein could see that amid his successive powerful slashes, the opponent’s two hard, dark scythes were trembling, subtly showing signs of cracking.
