Chapter 1285: Chapter 434: Shadow Dragon Thief

As the hands of time quickly moved past twenty-four hours, the participants of the Secret Realm Re-test and the remaining task executors were transferred one by one back to the first floor of the Star Mage Platform.

Meanwhile, the Areda sisters were similarly teleported to the Star Mage’s Platform, thanks to the positioning of the shards.

”Lord Rein.”

The slightly reserved two women, led by Tatia, arrived at the entrance to Rein’s lounge.

”You’re back? It seems you weren’t hurt, that’s good.” Rein glanced at the two women, noting that apart from some battle scars, there were no obvious injuries.

They must have encountered enemies but managed to resolve it smoothly.

”Yes, we encountered two groups of enemies, one being Kreya, one of the ’Four Black Flame Knights’ of the Black Flame Cult, and a Legendary Strongman from the Plague Sect.”

”With the cooperation of Lord Baldwin, we successfully defeated Kreya and the Legendary Strongman from the Plague Sect,” Areda briefly recounted.

”Indeed, Lord Rein, the dark plague of that Legendary Strongman from the Plague Sect was really troublesome, almost catching all three of us,” said Ailida, seemingly still a bit shaken.

”Oh? The Plague Sect?” Rein nodded.

This cult has a long history, and it is said that some of the famous plagues in the Empire’s history, like the Black Death, the Undead Plague, and the Swarm Plague, are related to this cult.

However, they primarily operate in the southern provinces of the Empire, so Rein hadn’t encountered them much while in the central coastal province of Mingster.

”Lord Rein, only one of your demon statues returned, the other one...” Major General Tatia entered and said.

”I know.” Rein waved his hand, smiling.

The other one actually self-destructed.

After being rammed by the Void Dragon into the outer void, he immediately commanded the demon statue carrying the girl in the black robe to initiate self-destruction.

He was well aware that the near-dead Barnes and three others had already attracted a lot of Void Beasts. If the container of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, the black-robed girl, was left in the Secret Realm, it would attract a large number of Void Beasts within minutes.

Moreover, the process could be very rapid, and even if Lambert or the Areda sisters returned, they wouldn’t make it in time.

If the black-robed girl were infected, the consequences could be disastrous and unpredictable.

Therefore, Rein decisively had the improved Hellfire demon statue self-destruct.

”By the way, Lord Tatia, these are the Areda sisters, now my followers. Please help with their legal identities.”

”No problem, Lord Rein. Leave it to me, but it may take two or three days as it needs to go through a process.” Tatia, after looking at the charming Areda sisters and then at Rein, said with a smile.

These two are even more beautiful than what was seen on the Elliptical Stone Platform earlier.

Thinking of Olena, the capable lady that Rein specifically transferred from the Mingster Branch, made Tatia ponder a bit more.

”Is there a problem?” Seeing Tatia’s meaningful gaze, Rein couldn’t help but ask.

”The main issue is that the identities of the two ladies are somewhat sensitive, so the headquarters needs to provide surety, but rest assured, Lord Rein, it’ll be done in no more than three days.” Tatia smiled slightly and said.

”Alright, I’ll trouble you then, Lord Tatia.” Rein smiled.

However, Tatia’s words made the Areda sisters uneasy, and they began telepathically communicating immediately.

”Sister, do you think the Empire will accept us?”

”There shouldn’t be a problem. Look at how the female Major General refers to and respects Lord Rein. I don’t think you need to worry.”

”Uh-huh.”

”Actually... I’m more worried about the Secret Snake Sect.” Sister Areda frowned and said.

...

”Oh, Lord Rein, there’s another matter, Marshal Alfred asked me to convey to you.”

”Oh? Please, Lady Tatia.”

”This time, for the sake of the Empire’s interests, you expended a great deal of energy defeating the avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess and the Void Dragon, yet you couldn’t complete your Dragon Language Mark task. While this might affect your re-test score, you need not worry.”

”The headquarters will communicate with the assessment committee to ensure you can participate in the final Dragon Knight selection. And your quota won’t take up one of the six selected from this re-test, so you don’t have to worry about causing any controversy.”

”Moreover, if you become an Imperial Guardian, you can directly apply to communicate with any Giant Dragon that hasn’t yet signed a contract with the Empire.”

”Thank you, Lady Tatia. Please be sure to extend my gratitude to Marshal Alfred.” Rein slightly bowed and said.

Originally, Rein felt slightly regretful, as he had been teleported back early and didn’t have a chance to obtain any Dragon Language Marks from a dragon offspring.

Such a result is naturally the best.

”Alright, Lord Rein.”

...

A few minutes later.

Rein and the Areda sisters rode the luxurious carriage that had been waiting at the door, heading from the Star Mage’s Platform to their residence.

However, just a few minutes onto Empire St. Paul Avenue, the carriage slowly began to decelerate.

Little Matteo, sitting in the coachman’s seat at the front, said:

”Lord Rein, there’s a carriage bearing the Royal Family’s crest parked by the roadside up ahead. The Earl Buchanan, who visited you previously, is waving in greeting. It seems he wants to chat with you. What do you think?”
