Chapter 1264: Chapter 426: Ancient Black Water Soul (Part 3)

But the scene before them still utterly shocked them.

Even the seasoned Legendary Peak powerhouse Agrippa couldn’t withstand a single witchcraft spell, so how could they continue the battle?

Only Rein and Nick were left, and although their strength was slightly stronger than Agrippa’s, it was only marginally so.

Facing the Nether Sea Goddess in this state, could they withstand two witchcraft spells? Or three?

For a moment, everyone was astonished by the strength of the Nether Sea Goddess, and a sense of dread filled their hearts.

”This is the Ancient Witchcraft ’Ancient Black Water Soul’, it is said that each Black Water Ball imprisons a Nether River Soul.”

”It’s actually a Fourth Level Dawn Witchcraft spell, but the Nether Sea Goddess somehow simplified and weakened it, allowing it to be cast in the Dragon Valley Secret Realm.”

At this moment, the Grand Astromancer Dalain, with a slight frown, explained.

Hmm?

A simplified Dawn Witchcraft spell? Isn’t that practically a Fourth Level Witchcraft?

This is a dimension-reducing strike!

No wonder Agrippa couldn’t withstand a single move.

Everyone realized suddenly.

”This witchcraft is powerful, has strong tracking capability, but the movement speed of the black water vortex isn’t very fast; if known in advance, it’s not too difficult to dodge.” The Grand Astromancer Dalain continued.

”Tatia, immediately check who else is nearby.” Marshal Alfred stood up, his expression serious.

”Yes, sir!” Tatia quickly got busy.

She knew that without reinforcements, even Lord Rein might...

”The nearest is... huh? It’s Captain Baldwin! He’s two kilometers away from Lord Rein.” Tatia said excitedly.

”Quickly contact him and have him speed up his approach.”

”Marshal, Captain Baldwin is rapidly heading toward the target point.”

”Good! Inform Baldwin of the Nether Sea Goddess’s combat power and what Dalain mentioned, it’s best if he can warn Rein too.” Marshal Alfred reminded.

If they knew the opponent’s strength beforehand, they wouldn’t be caught off guard.

If Agrippa had known in advance and adopted a hit-and-run strategy, though not guaranteeing safety, he would have survived much longer.

”Yes, Marshal. Also, there are two more...”

Just as Tatia was reporting, she was suddenly interrupted by a furious shout!

”Bang! That bastard Nick!” General Augustus slammed his palm on the table, glaring angrily at the image on the stone platform!

Everyone turned their heads to look at the elliptical stone platform!

In the image on the platform.

”Dragon Thunder!”

Nick roared!

”Bang!”

As the blue Crystal Ball at the top of his staff shattered, the witchcraft he was casting instantly increased in power. A sphere of lightning shot towards Rein and Hela’s location!

And just before it reached them, the sphere of lightning exploded, forming a glowing electrical net with a diameter of about ten meters.

Hmm?

Rein’s eyes flashed with a cold light.

He didn’t expect this guy Nick to attack him as well.

Furthermore, he was using Metal Series Witchcraft, and his nearly ten-meter-high body was covered with ’Steel Armor’.

Metal conducts electricity.

Which means he would suffer more damage than the Nether Sea Goddess Hela in front of him.

Rein didn’t believe for a second that Nick hadn’t thought of this.

And Hela, holding up her Defensive Vortex Shield, looked at the scene with calm confidence, watching how Rein would respond.

However, Rein reacted quickly, transforming the Hardened Essence Gold in his hand into a spear, stabbing it into the ground near Hela’s feet.

”Crash!”

Most of the electric arcs were instantly absorbed by the metal spear!

Instead, it conducted the electricity back to the Black Water Ball of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela.

This left Hela momentarily astonished!

She didn’t expect Rein to so easily neutralize the indiscriminate strike, recycling the power of the lightning to attack her.

This left Hela somewhat annoyed.

Yet she did not attack Rein, as she planned to toy with him enough before killing him.

Naturally, she wanted to save Rein for last.

So, Hela directed her anger towards Nick.

She gazed at the fleeing Nick with her beautiful eyes.

”Does this little insect think it can escape?”

”Such ignorance!”

The Nether Sea Goddess Hela extended another hand, forming a grip in the air. Instantly, a Trident, composed entirely of energy and flickering with translucent black light, appeared in her hand.

”Swish!”

A black lightning flashed by!

In an instant, the black-glowing Trident appeared behind the fleeing Nick.

Nick cursed and was frightened.

”Lightning Movement!”

But Nick was ultimately experienced in battle, and shouted as he suddenly shifted forward by several meters, as if teleporting.

This was his trump card for survival, a rare Third Level Thunder System Witchcraft—’Lightning Movement’!

Though it consumed a large amount of spiritual power when cast, it allowed for instantaneous movement of two to three meters in any direction.

Against physical attacks, it was a reliable life-saving divine skill!

Upon seeing the Energy Trident narrowly miss him, embedding into the ground, Nick breathed a huge sigh of relief.

”Good thing I still had this life-saving ace.”

”Otherwise, I’d be totally screwed this time!”

”...”

But before the thought had even finished, Nick suddenly found himself inexplicably blasted away.

From Rein’s perspective, it was clear.

Though the Black Trident hadn’t hit Nick directly, after embedding into the ground, its shaft flashed with black currents, then exploded.

A shockwave and flash of black light, akin to a small thermobaric bomb, blazed by.

Nick’s protective witchcraft shattered like glass in less than a split second.

Accompanied by this, Nick was violently sent flying.

The earlier blow was not just a simple physical attack; in some sense, it was a mixed attack.

Rein didn’t even need to check, knowing Nick was most certainly dead.

Because aside from the shockwave damage, the black energy also carried intense corrosiveness.

Now, Nick’s fallen corpse lay like a supine candle, rapidly melting.

If he were still alive, he’d struggle to rise.

But now, there was no reaction at all.

Even though Agrippa and Nick both fell, Rein felt no sorrow or guilt.

In the recent battle, he bore no fault.

Instead, it was Nick’s ’Dragon Thunder’ that seemed intentionally malicious.

To use an age-old saying from his past life to describe these two, it would be, ”the ingenious scheme backfired, costing them their lives!”

Truthfully, since the opponent played dirty tricks, even if Hela hadn’t disposed of them, Rein would’ve ensured in the ensuing combat that they reaped what they’d sown.

Yet now, this outcome was beyond reproach.

”Very well, now the two little bugs are dealt with.”

”Now, it’s your turn.”

The black-robed girl, the Avatar of the Nether Sea Goddess Hela, smiled with her enchanting eyes looking at Rein.

”Tell me, how do you wish to die?”
