Wizard: Scamming a Demon God

Chapter 440: Chapter 327: The Virtual Deity’s Skill Stuns the Experts

However, Isaac had a solution. With the benefits of the completed ritual at stake, he didn’t keep them in suspense. ”You don’t need to worry about that,” he stated plainly. ”If we focus on protecting the Law-Breaking Swordsmen, I’m confident I can guarantee not a single one of them will die.”

”Hmm?!”

In that instant, everyone turned to look at Isaac in surprise. ’Such confidence?’

Isaac wasted no more words. Tilting his head slightly, he raised his right hand and flicked the small, golden, shield-like earring on his right ear. It transformed into a streak of golden light, materializing into a Golden Armored Divine General wielding a Sword and Shield, who took a position behind Isaac.

After a moment’s thought, as if deciding one wasn’t enough, he removed the silver ring from his left index finger and casually tossed it out. The silver light dissipated, revealing a graceful, voluptuous Witch clad in a purple gown.

’Deities?!’ A jolt of shock ran through the crowd. Their incredulous gazes darted between Isaac and the two Deities, the horror in their hearts escalating.

Even Olisti, who was acquainted with Isaac, and Jörmungandr, the Legendary Mage who had witnessed Isaac’s Virtual Deities before, were utterly shocked. Olisti knew only that Isaac was researching methods to enslave Deities and had even seen his Divine Spirit Book.

But frankly, while that technique was indeed ingenious and could be called enslaving a Deity, its power level was too low. It could only compel a Deity to send down a controlled Tier Four Incarnation; it couldn’t command the Deity’s true self. This was a significant risk.

This meant Isaac was in a race against these Deities. He had to enhance the Divine Spirit Book to the point where it could enslave their true selves before they could break its hold—in other words, he had to upgrade the Divine Spirit Book to at least Tier Six!

That was an incredibly difficult feat.

Therefore, in Olisti’s view, that earlier technique was still within the realm of possibility. ’But... what the hell is this?’

He could tell that although their power levels were a bit low—only Tier Four—they were both genuine Deities, not Divine Species. And judging by their docile, subservient demeanor, they were completely under Isaac’s control!

Jörmungandr’s shock was no less than Olisti’s. True, he knew Isaac had a way to create and control Deities, but... ’Is he really this efficient?!’

’That’s two of them already?’

’You have to understand, these weren’t a dime a dozen. These were Tier Four Deities!’

’Tier Four!’

’Could he have other Deities up his sleeve?’

After their initial shock, the same thought occurred to the others. Both Deities had transformed from Isaac’s jewelry—an earring and a ring. Was it possible that his other accessories or pieces of equipment were also Deities?

Thus, one shock was layered upon another!

When Isaac revealed his Virtual Deities, the way many of the Wizards in attendance looked at him changed completely. ’In terms of combat power, he might just be the strongest one here!’

’And his research abilities are probably nothing to scoff at either!’

They could see no trace of an Outer God’s power on these two Deities, which meant this wasn’t a technique of a Mad Witch.

It was only then that the crowd began to recover from the initial shock of the Silver-robed Mage’s presentation. ’So, a Wizard’s most powerful methods aren’t limited to Great Creations...’

Isaac paid no mind to their astonishment. After summoning the pair, he introduced them. ”These two are Knight’s Shield and the Void Witch. Knight’s Shield’s Divine Authority is [Absolute Guardian], and one of his Divine Powers is [Human]. He can extend his Divine Power to provide all Law-Breaking Swordsmen with a shield capable of blocking Tier Three attacks.”

”The Void Witch’s Divine Authority is [Boundless Void], and she also possesses the [Human] Divine Power. She can transport any Law-Breaking Swordsman whose shield is triggered or who is near death into her Divine Domain, the [Boundless Void]. From there, they can be moved to the various Magic Capitals for treatment. If our only goal is to protect the Law-Breaking Swordsmen, this will ensure their safety to the greatest possible extent.”

’Actually, the most appropriate choice would be to transfer them to my Underground Palace City,’ Isaac thought. ’The Mother Goddess and her Followers are there, and they now command incredibly potent Healing Divine Techniques. Even if someone is on the brink of death, as long as their Life Tier is below Tier Four, a single Healing Divine Technique is guaranteed to have them back on their feet, good as new!’

Unfortunately, he knew his own business best. Isaac was well aware of the implications of his identity as a Mad Witch. No matter how urgent the situation, the others would never allow a large number of Law-Breaking Swordsmen to enter a Magic Capital built by him.

Especially not the Silver-robed Mage!

The Law-Breaking Swordsmen were his lifeline right now. He would never let them get entangled with an Outer God; if someone else swooped in and reaped the benefits of his work, he would be ruined.

This was a point Isaac had come to understand after communicating with Olisti. It might seem like the Outer Gods frequently suffered setbacks at his hands, but that was only due to the protection of the Gate of Legends. Not only was the power the Outer Gods could wield against him limited, but they were also incapable of gathering any information about him.

In other words, not only could they bring less than a tenth of their power to bear, but even that fraction was wasted, striking at nothing but air.

But when they faced others, the situation was completely different...

Even a Wizard would have to reach Tier Six to confidently claim victory. Most Tier Five Wizards could only manage to go toe-to-toe with them.

Thus, when the Silver-robed Mage finished listening to Isaac, the last trace of worry vanished from his eyes. He nodded and took the lead. ”Then it’s settled. Everyone, prepare rescue measures in your respective Magic Capitals. Ensure that the transported Law-Breaking Swordsmen survive by any means necessary. Beyond that, use whatever methods you have at your disposal to hunt as many Tier Four Demons as possible!”

Everyone nodded. Then, brimming with confidence, they rose one by one and left the meeting hall.

Isaac had solved the most difficult part—the protection mission. The rest would be simple. For Tier Four Mages like them, hunting a few Pseudo-Tier Four Demons would be almost laughably easy.

They couldn’t wait to get this ritual over with so they could finally begin their experiments!

At the other end of the round table, the Silver-robed Mage watched Isaac prepare to leave. His lips twitched, but after a moment’s hesitation, he decided against calling out to him. He let Isaac depart, keeping only a few Wizards at the peak of Tier Four, like Jörmungandr and Olisti, for further discussion.

’Even though Isaac’s Virtual Deities were a massive surprise, demonstrating powerful research talents beyond his path as a Mad Witch, ultimately, he couldn’t get past that one fact. After all, Isaac was a Mad Witch...’

’And one of the most insane ones at that!’

’Researching Deities? Normal.

Following the path of a Mad Witch? Arguably normal.

But following the path of a Mad Witch while *also* researching Deities...

’That’s just asking for death!’

’Not a single Deity would tolerate Isaac’s existence!’

’When he tries to ascend to Tier Five, the dangers he’ll face will be hundreds of times greater than those of an ordinary Mad Witch!’

’He was sure Isaac understood this as well. That meant he wouldn’t slow the pace of his dealings with the Outer Gods at Tier Four like a normal Mad Witch would. Instead, he would pursue power from them even more frantically. A person like that either becomes Undying or goes down in a cataclysmic explosion!’

’Getting close to someone like that... the risk was simply too high.’
