Chapter 2848: Chapter 2849: Contract Termination

After these words, the Alchemy Golem stood up, its gem-like eyes emitting a faint golden light, like a splash of golden ink.

And this golden ink seemed alive, continuously diffusing.

As it spread, innumerable contract text could be seen appearing and disappearing within.

At the same time, contract text also diffused out from Olao’s body. When these texts first appeared, they were somewhat stagnant, carrying a heavy twilight. But when they sensed the spreading golden ink in the air, they seemed to awaken suddenly, with the twilight transforming into little wings, carrying the contract text towards the golden ink to merge with it.

This ”fusion” was actually dissolving the contract shackles on Olao.

On the other side, contract text also diffused out from Aidanice’s body, but significantly less compared to Olao. Moreover, most of these texts showed cracks, even if they don’t merge with the golden ink, they would automatically dissipate before long.

Nevertheless, the Alchemy Golem still divided a part of the golden ink, preparing to merge with the contract text on Aidanice’s body.

However, Aidanice snorted coldly, and the outward contract text was absorbed into her body... she refused the golden ink.

Olao was busy releasing the contract shackles at this moment and did not see this scene. But the Alchemy Golem cast a glance over, eyes carrying inquiry.

Aidanice said indifferently: ”Most of my contract has already been worn out by time, I can undo the remaining part myself, no need for you to bother.”

Upon hearing Aidanice’s words, the Alchemy Golem showed no reaction, but the others speculated that perhaps Aidanice refused to accept the golden ink from the Alchemy Golem to avoid owing Augustine a favor?

After all, Aidanice had shown discontent towards Augustine from the beginning.

However, in everyone’s view, this seemed too obstinate.

Because it’s not a matter of favors at all, but rather Augustine’s compensation to them. The contract of Qingkong Poetry Room was set by Augustine, and him undoing the contract is perfectly justified. Moreover, he’s late by a whole millennium. No issue of owing favors, instead it’s Augustine who owes them an explanation.

Therefore, everyone thought Aidanice’s behavior felt somewhat spiteful and not very wise.

The Black Earl even prepared to persuade Aidanice. After all, Aidanice had expressed the future intention of following the Noah Clan, and as someone thinking for his people, he hoped Aidanice would undo the contract as soon as possible.

Releasing it by her own power would indeed work, but it would take some time. And Augustine could undo the contract immediately now, so why waste that time in spite?

Just as the Black Earl was about to speak, Aidanice said to the Alchemy Golem indifferently: ”Undoing the contract myself is an account to myself, not an opinion on you. As for my opinion on you, I will personally seek you in the future to get it back.”

”So, no need to waste your energy for me, better reserve that energy, at least let you persist in this world a little longer. You still need to fully explain things. Besides, it seems the descendants of Noah Clan would also want to talk to you. You wouldn’t be unwilling to face this particular descendant, would you?”

After hearing Aidanice’s words, the Black Earl was stunned.

He originally thought Aidanice was being spiteful, never expected that the reason Aidanice refused the golden ink was to allow Augustine’s consciousness to remain for a while longer.

And all this was to give Augustine time to confront the Noah descendant, which was the Black Earl himself!

After saying these lines, Aidanice sat down, lowering her eyes without speaking.

Augustine then turned his gaze to the Black Earl: ”Since this is as Aidanice requested, I can give you some time to ask questions.”

Though giving the Black Earl some time, it’s not right away, as Augustine was still dealing with Olao’s contract.

...

The expanding golden ink kept absorbing the contract text flying out of Olao’s body.

As the contract text was absorbed and dissolved by the golden ink, both the golden ink and contract text on Olao’s body began to reduce in total.

When the last bit of contract text on Olao’s body was absorbed by the golden ink, Olao began to emit a gentle glow.

Bathing in the glow, Olao’s physical appearance began to change.

The already tall body grew even taller, and the hair covered by the hat was growing visibly fast. In a short time, it surpassed the length of Aidanice’s hair.

The most significant change was Olao’s skin. The originally pale sickly skin first became transparent, then a multitude of silver light burst internally, replacing the transparent skin with bright silver.

The bright silver color closely resembled a mirror’s surface.

Olao was now like a human-shaped walking mirror.

Once evolved into the ”walking mirror,” Olao’s body seemed unable to support the sudden surge of energy, suddenly transforming into a white light, the entire being was absorbed into the copper mirror on the table.

After Olao vanished, Augustine slowly retrieved the remaining golden ink before him.

The golden ink entered the body, and the rigid Alchemy Golem after a moment’s adjustment, restored its previous vitality. However, it’s clearly perceptible that the aura emitted by the Alchemy Golem now was much weaker than before.

After a brief pause, the Alchemy Golem’s gaze first turned to Angel: ”You can take back the copper mirror now, Olao was bound by the contract for too long, has now gained new life, and needs some time to rest to adapt to the new body. Once adapted, future growth will be tremendous.”

Angel nodded, reached out to take the copper mirror, and while about to store the mirror in his bracelet, he suddenly thought of a question: ”Does this copper mirror have a name?”

Alchemy Golem: ”Formal name, you may decide yourself in the future. Any formal name now would merely be a joke.”

In Augustine’s opinion, the current copper mirror is just a raw embryo, setting a formal name for a raw embryo obviously isn’t suitable.

It’s like naming the copper mirror ”Frostmourne” now, but the future development direction is ”Flame Joy,” wouldn’t that be a joke.

Thus, Olao is its current name, the formal name to be decided by Angel once it’s matured.

Angel nodded, put away the copper mirror, and said nothing further.

Now, the Alchemy Golem turned its gaze to the Black Earl.

In reality, the Black Earl branch of the Noah descendants is the true main lineage. As for the Noah branch in the Origin World, tracing back, it was actually a bloodline left by a Noah traveler discovered by Margaret in the Origin World, and this bloodline wasn’t very pure. Initially, even the basic power of Noah was extremely weak.

Margaret, considering past relationships, took this impure Noah descendant as her apprentice.

With the apprentice’s growth, gradually forming a Noah clan lineage.

Margaret, as an Alchemist, continually assists apprentices in purifying their bloodlines through the Magical Energy Array. Now, those mixed bloodlines have become purer, even showing further potential.

Upon seeing this, Augustine left some of Noah’s Origin Power within the Noah tribe of the Origin World.

With the addition of Origin Power, the Noah clan of the Origin World was legitimized, becoming stronger. In the Wizard Realm, where strength reigns, they transformed from a Noah sub-clan to the current mainline of Noah.

The original mainline of Noah, however, declined following the great injury in Naraku City and the subsequent weakening of the Southern Domain.

For the Black Earl to climb step-by-step to the peak of a Third-level Wizard under such circumstances is truly impressive.

Even among the Noah tribe of the Origin World, he belongs to the middle-upper echelon of strength.

Moreover, Augustine can see that the Black Earl has significant potential and has taken a highly unconventional path. This path was previously attempted by some, but due to multiple avatars and independent consciousnesses, various issues arose.

Yet the Black Earl seems to have managed these risks quite well.

If the Black Earl visits the Noah tribe of the Origin World and bathes in the Origin Power, he might break through to becoming a Legend. At that time, even without relying on the Noah tribe of the Origin World, he will be able to forge his own path.

It can be said that aside from Angel, Augustine has the most confidence in the Black Earl among those present.

For this reason, Augustine does not object to Adanis choosing the Black Earl. Although Adanis is not favored by Augustine, she holds significant importance to Margaret, far above Olao... After all, Margaret was involved in Adanis’s refining process; unlike Olao, who was refined solely by Augustine.

So, despite Augustine not giving a good face to Adanis along the way, in terms of significance, she is no less important than Olao.

Accepting Adanis’s choice also reflects trust and respect towards the Black Earl.

But, that’s about it.

Augustine is not a family-first person. He has always resented Margaret’s support of the Noah tribe of the Origin World, feeling that they take up his and Margaret’s time together.

Although the Noah tribe of the Origin World carries Augustine’s mark, he personally is not very fond of it.

Being a living banner is one thing, but asking him to genuinely protect them, that’s a different matter.

Unless the Noah tribe of the Origin World births a new star like Angel. Otherwise, consider it a no-go.

Even regarding the Noah tribe of the Origin World, Augustine isn’t overly concerned, let alone with the Noah tribe of the Southern Domain. Therefore, he doesn’t intend to pay attention to the Black Earl. However, now that Adanis proposed a talk with him and Black Earl at no energy cost, Augustine is not opposed.

Though he doesn’t particularly care for the Noah tribe, he feels a sense of familiarity with the Noah descendants over outsiders.

”Do you have anything to say?” The Alchemy Golem looked at the Black Earl, and said indifferently.

Black Earl: ”Lord Augustine, there was once a Prophet Wizard who said my path lies in the Abyss of Evil Gods. Does the lord agree with this?”

Alchemy Golem: ”There is no inevitable path, whether I agree or not is irrelevant. However, what I can assure you is, if you want a better future, seeking another Noah tribe in the Origin World is not a mistake. As for the Abyss of Evil Gods...”

The Alchemy Golem chuckled lightly, but did not further evaluate the Abyss of Evil Gods, instead saying: ”If you think your path lies there, you can go and visit that place after going to the Origin World. Don’t always think that you must choose one from two or more options at each choice... That Time Thief’s influence isn’t daring enough to cover the entire Wizard Realm, following in the footsteps of the Time Thief, do you want to be its disciple?”

”As long as a choice doesn’t need to be made immediately, evaluate each option, there will always be one correct answer. Sometimes the incorrect option isn’t absolutely wrong, it may offer a different perspective.”

The Alchemy Golem’s words were said to guide the Black Earl, but they were equally insightful to others present.

Black Earl: ”The Lord directed me to the Origin World, but the teleportation to the Origin World from the Southern Domain has been cut off, and reaching the Origin World takes too long. Can the lord offer a clear path?”

Alchemy Golem: ”You bring up such trivial matters? You wouldn’t be asking next, about the location of the Noah tribe in the Origin World or how to get there, would you?”

Black Earl: ... That thought actually crossed his mind. The Origin World is much larger than the combined dimensions of the Wizard Realm and boasts a staggering number of sub-worlds. These sub-worlds feature giant worlds comparable to the Wizard Realm’s four domains. Clearly, the Origin World is vast.

In such an enormous world, locating a Wizard Family’s base is certainly not easy according to the Black Earl. Unless the Noah tribe is so renowned in the Origin World that you can find it without special search, simply by asking directions. But with abundant talents in the Origin World, the Black Earl doubts if the Noah tribe is truly that famous there.

However, since the Alchemy Golem ribbed him early, the Black Earl felt embarrassed to inquire about the exact site of the Noah tribe.

But how to reach the Origin World remains a question the Black Earl must ask.

Alchemy Golem: ”Such a nearby path, you can simply fly over, even with inferior strength, wasting some time isn’t a big deal.”

For Augustine, it may not be a big issue, but for the Black Earl, he wouldn’t want to spend hundreds of years adrift in the Void. Moreover, the Void isn’t entirely safe. When tranquil, it’s genuinely tranquil, but any problems that arise are certainly significant.

Thus, this question still needs asking.

Observing the Black Earl still sticking closely to the question without retracting, the Alchemy Golem reluctantly said: ”Given your current situation, there are four ways to reach the Origin World.”

”First, flying there. Although it’s time-consuming, the Void has many worthwhile spectacles to appreciate, balancing flying and sightseeing wouldn’t waste that much time.”

Black Earl: ... The Void’s wonders are better fled from upon sight rather than admired.

”Second, every Phase Face in the Abyss World possesses a number of Dimensional Doors. Although the Southern Domain Wizard World corresponds to the Barren Face, potentially harboring few Dimensional Doors, there must still be at least ten Dimensional Doors. Through Dimensional Doors, one can journey to other phase faces, then onwards to one of the other quadrants of the Wizard Realm for teleportation to the Origin World, which is also a possibility.”

Black Earl: ”I’m aware of the Dimensional Doors, but those in the Barren Face are managed by Abyssal Demon Gods...”

The Alchemy Golem paused to ponder: ”Is that so? As I recall, the first Dimensional Door crafted by the Abyssal Demon Eye, located on the Barren Face, was presented to the Indigenous People.”

The Black Earl showed signs of doubt... Is that truly so? The relationship between Indigenous People and humans undoubtedly surpasses that of demons. If the Indigenous People indeed possess a Dimensional Door, it might be worthy of consideration; but does such exist? Given the current Abyss’s leadership by the Frostmoon Alliance, if Lord Monty knew there was a Dimensional Door, perhaps he wouldn’t have dared to challenge the demon god’s descendants.

While both the Black Earl and Alchemy Golem remained puzzled, Angel covertly lowered his head on the side, seemingly unconcerned while playing with Dangross, concealing his slightly anxious mood.

Augustine’s reference to the first Dimensional Door crafted by the Abyssal Demon Eye and offered to the then Indigenous People’s leader—Kansamovich remains unnoticed. This Dimensional Door is called: Skeletal. Currently, it is controlled by Wodell on the Continent of Yuantan...

Angel can let Wodell grant the Black Earl passage should he choose.

Yet... now isn’t the time to expose the Continent of Yuantan. But that day isn’t far away, come then, the Black Earl’s ties with Rhein mean he should indeed access the Dimensional Door.

For now, it cannot be disclosed to the Black Earl.
