Warlock Apprentice

Chapter 2844: Chapter 2845: From Afar

Sin World’s Boundless Path?!

Angel was originally prepared to continue his sarcasm, but when Augustine mentioned that Margaret Gold came from the Boundless Path of the Sin World, he was completely stunned.

The focus isn’t on the Sin World, it’s the Boundless Path!

This is the second stage of plane fusion, and it’s the stage where wizards dare not act recklessly. For example, in the Southern Domain Wizards’ Realm, no one dared to approach this Boundless Path, not even the observers.

Plane fusion has three stages, the first stage is the Rift Birth period, where countless space rifts form between the worlds about to fuse. The merging side will compress the auxiliary merging side, causing the fused side to continuously squeeze out the boundary membrane, throwing out a large number of constant fragments. This stage is when the wizards compete fiercely because constant fragments are the main material for witchcraft gardens.

Thus, the first stage is also called ”Vase of the Garden”.

Plane fusion’s second stage is the Boundless Path. At this stage, the world’s will actively consumes origin power to create a bilateral passage between the two worlds as a fusion link.

Though said to be a bilateral passage, in actuality, it does not only contain the two worlds. Because the passage contains the origin power of the world’s will, after entering this path, one can glimpse countless mysterious secrets. For instance, one can sense further distant planes and make the other side’s coordinates real, even relying on a single breath to find other main worlds in this so-called ”bilateral passage,” making it a ”multilateral passage.”

Because it is all-encompassing and the path of planes endlessly derives, it’s called the Boundless Path.

The third stage is the actual resource contention after fusion, also known as the ”Moment of Plunder.” From the literal meaning, one can guess the third phase situation, so it’s not detailed here.

Back to the Boundless Path.

The Boundless Path is a stage all wizards are eager to explore because, with the addition of the world’s origin power, one can find unknown planes within and initiate new journeys, representing unimaginable resources.

Even if not for the coordinates of unknown planes, just to sense the mysterious aura is an invaluable opportunity.

Unfortunately, the Boundless Path is not a place every wizard can enter; it’s filled with dangers, and there could be traps at every step. If you recklessly perceive the distant world, the universal consciousness will descend with punishment. And universal consciousness represents the will of countless worlds, its punishment isn’t something easily withstood.

Generally, at least a level 5 wizard is required to enter. Thus, it’s said that intermediate rank legend wizards are the starting point for exploring the Boundless Path.

If the fusion involves two relatively similar worlds, the world’s origin within the Boundless Path becomes thicker. At that time, the entry starting point might be level 6 wizards or even higher... a miracle.

If one hasn’t reached the standard, there’s only one dead end.

So, everyone knows the merits of the Boundless Path, but no one dares venture inside; the tales within are all regarded as mythical stories...

Yet now, Augustine claims that the main material for creating Olao—Margaret Gold—originates from the Boundless Path!

This revelation left not only Angel but everyone present incredibly surprised.

Because it means a mythical story has come true!

However, after the shock, everyone started feeling puzzled. They didn’t know Augustine’s current strength, but they were sure that Augustine from a thousand years ago certainly didn’t meet the criteria to enter the Boundless Path.

Then how did Augustine obtain Margaret Gold?

Quickly, Augustine provided an ”answer.”

”When Margaret Gold appeared in the world, strange phenomena occurred across the sky, countless miracle wizards emerged, looking at Margaret Gold with greedy eyes. They used all means to obtain Margaret Gold, but in the end, it was unintentionally acquired by a fortunate boy...” The alchemy golem crossed its hands, posed with an upward look, its jeweled eyes dull and theatrical, giving a sense of lost indulgence in the past.

After posing for quite a while, the alchemy golem finally turned its head towards the crowd: ”Yes, that fortunate boy is me.”

After hearing this story, everyone remained silent.

Angel glanced at the Black Earl, conveying with a look: Your ancestor certainly had talent, not writing novels was a waste, given the foundation for such fabrication.

The Black Earl turned his head quietly, unwilling to speak.

Everyone else lowered their heads, restraining themselves from laughing out loud—

Truly, exaggeration shouldn’t be this exaggerated, what do you mean by countless ”miracle wizards,” treating miracle wizards like crops, one batch after another?

Moreover, with so many big shots vying, yet it landed in your hands, and over the years, none came knocking—how is that possible? Everyone just gave you face?

Angel’s feelings of surprise at the Boundless Path were once again replaced by endless sarcasm.

Regardless of the crowd’s inner play, the alchemy golem seemed ready to finalize this ”answer”: ”That’s just how it is, there might be tiny inaccuracies, after all, it’s been a thousand years, who remembers the details?”

Is it slightly inaccurate or immensely inaccurate?

”That’s how it is, haha.” Angel forced a laugh, offering a semblance of support to Augustine.

Originally, Angel didn’t want to speak; however, under the gaze of the alchemy golem’s expectant jeweled eyes, he felt compelled to awkwardly chuckle twice.

While Angel was forced to fake a laugh, a voice suddenly spoke in his mind.

”Indeed, Margaret Gold came from the Boundless Path of the Sin World, obtained through a transaction with an observer. What an observer is, you needn’t concern yourself now; when you reach a certain stage of growth, you’ll naturally learn about observers. However, today’s observers aren’t the same as those from a thousand years ago, so even if you know an observer, there’s no need to engage them about Margaret Gold.”

”Margaret Gold is an alien object, possibly originating from a place so remote that even miracle wizards struggle to reach; it is incredibly rare, currently existing only within Olao and Adigu.”

”Though Margaret Gold is scarce, few know about it. The only outsiders are those present today and the observer I traded with.”

”You needn’t worry about that observer being detrimental to you, as he has now become Margaret’s follower. But, since the item comes from the Sin World, perhaps the Sin World’s controller might sense it; nonetheless, if they do, at most they’ll speculate that it’s a spirit from the Sin World, there’s no need to worry too much.”

Unquestionably, the heart-speak suddenly emerged from the alchemy golem.

The alchemy golem informing him privately might be to maintain secrecy? Angel didn’t understand why he wasn’t privately told from the start—was it some twisted sense of humor?

Putting these matters aside, regarding the words within the heart-speak, Angel was inclined to believe them.

Though Augustine assumed Angel didn’t know about observers, truthfully, Angel had already interacted with observers and knew that observers’ strength typically isn’t lacking. The current observer in the Southern Domain is a level 4 wizard; a thousand years ago, they might have been level 5, even level 6 wizards.

An observer at that time entering the Boundless Path, acquiring Margaret Gold and trading with Augustine is plausible.

And that observer becoming Margaret’s follower... this too makes sense.

Angel learned from Frost that touching on the mysterious tier of alchemists, regardless of strength, attracts followers willing to trail.

As for the rarity of Margaret Gold, that’s undoubtedly certain—it utterly perplexed the ”server” within Angel’s mind space, a swath of red, filled with unknown information, singularly because of this item.

It makes sense to keep it secret because it’s precious. However, Augustine also pointed out that among outsiders, besides the Observers, those present are also aware of some information about Margaret Gold.

Angel is not worried about those present leaking the information.

There’s no need to mention Olao and Adanis; the Black Earl and Vay, being descendants of the Noah Clan, wouldn’t reveal their ancestors’ secrets; as for Dox, Angel is planning to recruit him, would he dare to speak indiscriminately? The only exception might be Kaier, but Angel believes Kaier wouldn’t spread it; even if they did, who would believe the words of an apprentice?

However, the controller of the Sin World, as Augustine mentioned, might sense something, which concerns Angel slightly. Even if they couldn’t guess Olao’s true identity, it would be best to avoid it if possible. And without a doubt, the controller of the Sin World is part of the Extreme Sect, and Angel himself doesn’t want to deal with them, so it suits him just fine.

Setting aside minor flaws, just regarding Margaret Gold, it is an exceptionally precious material that won’t easily attract attention. With Adigu as a precedent, it is conceivable that Olao also has the potential to become a Mysterious Spirit.

Just listening to the description is hard to resist.

And Augustine’s words, which seem meant to reassure Angel, are, plainly speaking, an attempt to tempt Angel to take Olao away.

And what does Angel think now?

What else could he think? Even the Eye of the Sky is heating up, reminding him this way; would he really miss it?

Moreover, Augustine previously said something intriguing: Margaret Gold is an anomaly, very likely from a place so distant that even Miracle Wizards cannot reach it.

Alone, it sounds like this: Margaret Gold comes from an undiscovered world beyond the Endless Space-Time Distance, and as for Miracle Wizards being unable to reach it, that could very well be just hype to emphasize its value.

But what if Augustine is telling the truth?

What if even Miracle Wizards cannot reach it?

The true body of Adigu—the Mirror of Truth—can connect to the yet undiscovered ”Mist Species” Alien Clan; the races of this universe are still unknown.

So, could it be that the true bodies of Adigu and Olao actually come from another... universe?

Angel doesn’t know if this speculation is correct, but even if there’s just the slightest possibility, Angel wouldn’t let it go.

After all, Jon is likely from another universe.

And researching matters of other universes is of immense significance to Angel’s future goal—to take Jon home.

Moreover, the Eye of the Sky is also ”hinting” at him.

So, Angel has already formed the idea of accepting Olao in his heart.

He initially didn’t want to accept it because it would seem like a favor owed, and he knew nothing about Olao’s background; most importantly, he didn’t believe Augustine had such good intentions.

Augustine entrusting Olao to him likely, as he said, is just for his own ”vision.”

Angel is just a tool to help him realize this vision.

In the end, even if he nurtures Olao diligently, Olao will return to Augustine’s side.

But now, while Angel still believes Augustine is acting for his own vision, Angel no longer rejects Olao. Even if it’s ultimately aiding Augustine in nurturing him, the research and discoveries during the process will still be Angel’s own.

If Olao really comes from another universe, the research on Olao will far exceed the value gained after nurturing!

Angel’s thoughts changed rapidly, the main reason being the heating of the Eye of the Sky.

But to Augustine, this was a natural outcome; no Alchemist could refuse such a precious embryo.

So, when Angel expressed his willingness to accept Olao, Augustine wasn’t surprised.

After Angel made this decision, the others present reacted differently.

Most people, like the Alchemy Golem, thought it was reasonable. They didn’t understand the value of the material, but they knew Olao, the Spirit, was very valuable.

Olao is currently in the bronze mirror, so his reaction can’t be seen, but it’s predictable that his expression must be complex now.

The only one who reacted differently was Adanis.

Everyone speculated that given Adanis’s level of care for Olao, she would surely do something extreme, such as getting angry, throwing a fit, stopping it, or even flipping the table and causing a scene.

But Adanis did not do so.

She just sat there quietly, with a very complex expression, containing anger but also reluctance.

Anger is not surprising; but reluctance signifies she’s ready to say goodbye to Olao. This is contradictory, at least it contradicts Adanis’s initial attitude toward Olao.

What happened in between? Or did Augustine’s series of inquiries earlier make Adanis realize something? Did she decide not to hold on so tightly?

While everyone was puzzled, Adanis spoke, not failing to meet expectations: ”Is it really appropriate to entrust Olao to him? Regardless of his potential, he is ultimately an imaginary number. We don’t even know his name, his origin, who might be controlling him, or whether there’s a conspiracy. Everything is unknown; making such a hasty decision is being irresponsible to Olao.”

Everyone thought Adanis would, as before, let her emotions speak, but surprisingly, Adanis spoke seriously instead of overly emotional.

Moreover, the doubts raised are quite serious.

Angel indeed has not clarified his identity to Adanis and Olao; from Adanis’s perspective, Angel is a complete stranger.

Even from Olao’s perspective, Angel is just shrouded in a filter given by Augustine, but his identity remains unknown.

”Time will bury everything, including the so-called conspiracy you mentioned,” Augustine said lightly.

But after saying this, he still turned his head to Angel: ”Although I don’t care about the Chanter’s origins, since someone has asked, would the Chanter be willing to answer?”

Angel nodded.

However, before introducing himself, Angel tapped the knuckle of his finger lightly against the mirror surface of the bronze mirror.

With the sound of the tapping, Olao emerged from the bronze mirror.

Since it’s self-introduction time, naturally, Olao should not be forgotten.
