Chapter 2834: Chapter 2835: Opening the Door

When Angel’s gaze landed on the keyhole of the Qingkong Poetry Room’s door, both Adanis and Olao, who were just a wall away, held their breath.

What will they do next? He’s discovered the door’s latch... Does he have the key?

”There’s definitely no way they’ll have the key, absolutely not.” Adanis asserted confidently, trying to reassure herself.

Olao didn’t respond, but he internally agreed with Adanis.

In the past, Adanis had banished many Noah descendants, and through these repeated exiles, she learned that the blueprint for refining the key to the Qingkong Poetry Room had been lost by the Noah descendants.

And now, it’s possible that the Noah descendants aren’t even aware that a key is needed for the Qingkong Poetry Room.

Even if, by some remote chance, the Noah clan found the blueprint again, they would most likely not recognize it as the key to the Qingkong Poetry Room.

Because the alchemy blueprint describes not a typical key but a short sword!

This short sword is a genuine alchemy weapon with astonishing power; even if refined, it would be hard to associate it with a ”key.”

So, taking all this into account, Olao did not believe they would have the key to the Qingkong Poetry Room’s door.

However, Olao still held a sliver of hope.

Because, apart from the governed entities, this world also has things that fall out of discussion.

For example, the Skeleton Key, which can open any lock.

Also, the Wild Growth Kingdom of Plants, a vine that can claim anything it touches as its own, turning even a locked door into a curtain of wisteria flowers with ease; whether locked or not becomes irrelevant.

Such things that are out of discussion are actually mysterious objects.

The effects of mysterious objects are often unexpected. Besides the ones Olao had heard of, there are many more mysterious objects he wasn’t aware of that could also open the door.

And their methods vary.

Such as ”Cloyd’s Lament,” which makes all emotionally charged words spoken aloud come true. However, the fulfillment tends to be negative.

For instance, saying in an angry tone: ”This wall is such a nuisance, why doesn’t it just disappear from this world?”

Upon speaking these words, the wall would vanish, and the so-called locked door would no longer exist.

Unfortunately, that mysterious object is currently with Feng. And Feng, is now far away in the internal Shell World.

Then there was a Nightmare Realm creature Angel had once encountered - the Fox-Harp Player. The harp it always carried, named the Fire Fox Harp, could evoke the desires within all beings when played.

With the Fire Fox Harp, one could manipulate the desires of Adanis or Olao, making them abandon reason and proactively open the door from within.

So, there are indeed many ways to open the door, but all invariably require extraordinary means.

Yet Angel, even under Adanis’s layers of obstruction, managed to overcome all hurdles and press forward triumphantly, even subduing infant spirits from another world; having some extraordinary means is believable.

That’s why Olao hasn’t given up hope.

He’s eagerly anticipating that someone outside, especially Angel, will eventually bring out an object out of discussion and open the Qingkong Poetry Room’s door. Even if it ultimately damages the entire structure, it doesn’t matter.

But Olao’s hopes were not realized.

For there was no such out of discussion object, instead, something even more surprising appeared.

—The key to the Qingkong Poetry Room’s door!

Angel retrieved a beautifully crafted short sword from his bracelet and inserted it into the hole on the wall. There were no special effects or dramatic waves; the wall simply parted down the middle.

Everyone immediately assumed a defensive stance.

They had been forewarned that the Qingkong Poetry Room might be filled with ambushes summoned by Adanis from the Mirror World.

The door could very likely open to reveal a torrent of magical creatures, so everyone remained cautious, defense spells at the ready.

Surprisingly, when the door opened, they weren’t met by monsters but by a young man with vacant eyes and Adanis, equally vacant...

Both sides stood staring at each other, the silence stretching on.

The man with the hat finally stammered, ”Ah, you’ve come, have come indeed?”

”Are you Olao?” the Black Earl asked.

The man with the hat seemed to snap out of it then, nodding at the Black Earl, ”Yes, I am Olao.”

Confirming that the man is the amicable Olao they’re aware of, the Black Earl intended to ask further if those with Noah’s bloodline could enter.

But before the Black Earl could ask, Adanis’s raspy voice cut him off.

”Why, why do you have the key? Why!!”

In fact, it wasn’t just Adanis; even Olao couldn’t believe how Angel and the others had found the key.

”The key?” Angel weighed the short sword he had just pulled out from the wall, ”You mean this?”

”Of course, it was refined,” he said.

As Angel spoke, he tossed the short sword backward to Kaier.

The short sword belonged to Kaier originally, so this was just returning it to its rightful owner. As for how he would open that wall in the Nightmare Realm in the future, that wasn’t a difficult problem; simply refining another one would do.

”How did you know this short sword is the key?” Adanis continued to ask, now uncaring of where they obtained the blueprint. She just wanted to know why they identified the short sword as the key.

Clearly, the Noah descendants who knew these insider details had become empty-hearted people, with no memories left.

How did they find out?

Adanis’s question was, in fact, what everyone was curious about. All turned to Angel, after all, it was he who identified it as a key.

Seeing everyone focus their gaze on Angel, Adanis suddenly realized, ”It’s you again, why is it always you?!”

Angel looked bewilderedly at Adanis: What have I done to you?

Adanis remained silent but glaring daggers at Angel.

Any matter involving this man, no matter how bizarre or implausible, would be effortlessly resolved. Even otherworldly infant spirits could be tamed by him, and the external Mana Array he could break with ease...Wait, the Mana Array?

Adanis seemed to realize something, if Angel could crack the external Mana Array, it made sense he could interpret the Mana Array on the short sword.

Moreover, the external Mana Array and the one on the short sword shared a common characteristic.

”Are you Margaret’s student? Did your Mana Array knowledge come from Margaret?” Adanis inquired.

Angel: ”No.”

Adanis: ”You’re lying!”

Angel: ”When I say no, it means no.”

Adanis: ”Then where did you inherit your Magical Energy Array from?”

Angel looked at Adanis with a baffled expression: ”Why should I tell you? Besides, you’re the one asking all the questions. I want to ask you, why do you keep blocking us?”

Adanis couldn’t possibly reveal the reason. She glared viciously at Angel and kept silent.

At this moment, Adanis found Angel more and more displeasing, reaching a new height, while on the other side, Olao was becoming more satisfied with Angel.

Indeed, it really is him.

As Olao’s eyes gleamed with excitement, Adanis walked to his side and whispered in his ear: ”Don’t get too cheerful too soon. The contract isn’t fully concluded yet. He’s not of Noah’s bloodline, so he can’t enter. Your expectations are all in vain.”

Adanis didn’t intentionally lower her voice; everyone heard.

With Olao’s eager gaze, along with Adanis’ words and their previous suspicions, everyone finally confirmed one thing.

Olao’s true focus wasn’t on the two Noah heirs present.

It was Angel!

Olao, who had been dormant for ten thousand years, personally appeared to intervene and even gave hints, all because of Angel!

The Wise Sovereign guessed right, and so did the Black Earl.

Although earlier, because of Angel’s denial, the Black Earl had doubts, he couldn’t think of anyone else. Vay was too incompetent, Kaier and Dox had nothing to do with this, and he himself was just an avatar. Olao wouldn’t know his true identity... even if he did, he probably wouldn’t care.

Excluding these, only Angel was left.

Angel had too many secrets; along the way, he displayed a variety of miraculous methods, all seemingly meant to counter the obstacles of the Underground Aqueduct.

Additionally, Adanis’ attention to Angel was excessively intense, which was another indicator.

An Angel harboring so many secrets and being so enigmatic, getting Olao’s attention, was no surprise.

If the Black Earl were in Olao’s position, he would likely focus on Angel too.

However, Olao even broke the millennia-old rules and appeared to block Adanis for Angel. There must be deeper reasons...

While the Black Earl was deep in thought, Angel was actually confused.

Was Olao really focused on him?

Angel didn’t think anything about him could attract Olao’s attention.

Could it be because of the arena incident?

Angel and Olao’s first contact happened at the Void Arena when Angel discovered Olao first, leading to Olao giving him hints later.

Was it because he discovered Olao while others didn’t, that Olao paid attention to him?

Other than that, Angel couldn’t think of anything about him that was special.

Both the Wise Sovereign and the Black Earl always felt he was hiding many secrets... He did have secrets, but those secrets were irrelevant to reality!

He came here genuinely just to see whether the key could unlock the wall and what scenery lay behind it.

Now, he already achieved one goal, confirming that the key could unlock the wall. If he could accomplish this other goal, he could retire successfully.

And with Black Earl and Vay, who had Noah’s bloodline, entering the Qingkong Poetry Room shouldn’t be difficult to achieve.

Therefore, Angel was ready to be a hands-off manager.

Why then, after opening the door, did he not feel relaxed but instead became the center of attention again?

While Angel was feeling unfairly treated, Adanis spoke up: ”Since you’re here, come in. I’m curious to see who can make it inside.”

Adanis’ words were half invitation, half threat, showing her hostility towards the group remained unabated.

Thus, the group didn’t take her seriously and focused instead on Olao.

Given that Olao had previously shown goodwill and proactively helped them fend off Adanis, now that everyone had gotten to the last step, was he planning to remain silent, saying nothing?

Olao did not disappoint them. He indeed spoke: ”The Noah bloodline can enter without worry.”

That means the Black Earl and Vay can go in, consistent with what the Wise Sovereign stated.

”What about non-Noah bloodline?” the Black Earl asked.

”Those without Noah bloodline and without special circumstances cannot enter the Qingkong Poetry Room.”

As soon as Olao finished speaking, Adanis added: ”As one of the gatekeepers of the Qingkong Poetry Room, I’ll punish those lacking the qualifications yet daring to trespass.”

Hearing Adanis’ words, Olao quickly turned his head: ”You can’t do this... You’re overstepping.”

Adanis coldly replied: ”I’m not overstepping. This is still within the contract range. I won’t touch those qualified to enter the Qingkong Poetry Room, but those unqualified, if they dare to trespass, theyd better be ready to be banished to the Sea of Void Mirror. This isn’t an empty threat, it’s the rule!”

Olao opened his mouth, wanting to say something but eventually stayed silent.

Because Adanis was indeed within the contract range.

Why was the Qingkong Poetry Room established?

Because Augustine wanted to meet Margaret.

Thus, in some sense, the Qingkong Poetry Room was a rendezvous spot for a loving couple, and neither Augustine nor Margaret wanted disturbances in such a setting.

Therefore, the contract really included a penalty clause for trespassing.

Adanis hadn’t liked mentioning the contract before, but now, she wielded it more skillfully than Olao.

Olao couldn’t secretly open a backdoor even if he wanted to.

The group now looked back at Olao, wanting to see what he would say.

Olao was silent for a moment, then said to the Black Earl and Vay: ”You can come in.”

Noah’s bloodline entering certainly wasn’t an issue, no doubt about it.

However, after saying this, Olao turned to look at Angel: ”You should also be able to enter. Do you want to come and see?”
