Chapter 2466: Chapter 2467: Gravitational Pull

”Looks like he really is important to you, Polo Ye,” Angel said in a meaningful tone.

Previously, I tried every possible way to prevent the Observer from retracting the space, but none worked. Now, just involving Angel, the effect is immediate.

If it were someone else, they might not understand why the Observer values Angel. But Polo Ye knows, and it seems the Observer is also aware of Angel’s mysterious talents. Being part of the Orderly Guild, how could they not recruit Angel vigorously? To protect Angel, the Observer blocked Polo Ye’s advance and even stopped retracting the space for that reason.

Polo Ye knows all this well, but now it has to pretend not to know. Angel is a must-have, and before that, it doesn’t want to expose its intentions prematurely, alerting the Observer.

As for Angel’s own opinion... heh, does that matter?

The Observer doesn’t know Polo Ye’s thoughts, but he knows Polo Ye must have misunderstood something... The stop of the space retracting was not his doing.

His distorted domain field was just to cover Angel’s green-patterned domain field. The real reason for the change in space size is still the green-patterned domain field. Now, the green-patterned domain field stopped abruptly, and his distorted domain field naturally stopped as well.

Only, the Observer doesn’t understand why Angel stopped at this moment. It seems as if he really stopped due to Polo Ye.

Although the Observer doesn’t mind taking the blame, it still feels a bit awkward, especially when Polo Ye stares at him with that eerie look, it makes him even more uncomfortable.

But he couldn’t explain it, he could only look at Angel silently, sighing helplessly in his heart.

However, on second thought, the Observer believes Angel wouldn’t stop the space contraction just because of Polo Ye’s words.

Perhaps Angel was only planning to retract to this extent, and Polo Ye’s words are coincidental?

If that’s true, then he retracting the domain field to this size must have some meaning.

The Observer glanced around the size of the domain field.

Coincidentally, the domain field is just big enough to accommodate the three of them comfortably. Even if Polo Ye retracts those eight tentacles a bit, there’ll be room for another person.

In other words, it can hold at most four people. Four people can fit without being too crowded, but any smaller and they’d be shoulder to shoulder.

The Observer believes Angel’s series of manipulations, including including Polo Ye and the inexplicable space contractions, have a certain internal logic.

The maximum capacity of four people must be part of his calculations.

Judging by various details, Angel’s series of manipulations don’t seem to be aimed at those present but may relate to the ”arrival of someone” that Polo Ye mentioned earlier, and Angel has deliberately left a ”vacant spot.”

The Observer has a guess in his heart: Perhaps Angel’s actions are for that arrival?

This guess is absurd even to the Observer, because although Polo Ye didn’t say who the arrival is, they’re certainly not weaker than Polo Ye. Legendary and above, undoubtedly.

Angel intends to target someone above legendary?

Just imagining this is a funny joke.

The Observer wishes to dismiss this ”joke” as mere fantasy, but the signs are so true, he’s a bit confused.

”Maybe I’m overthinking it.” The Observer shook his head.

”Shoo Lo~ What are you overthinking?” Now that they are so close, Polo Ye naturally heard the Observer’s mutter.

The Observer glared coldly at Polo Ye without saying a word.

Polo Ye didn’t mind, continuing, ”I read in the Fiebor Fisherman Report an investigative report that the Orderly Guild dispatches Observers across various worlds, and prolonged inability to communicate leads to various hysterias, the most typical being overthinking, common as they say. Shoo Lo?”

The Observer said flatly, ”You still have room to joke, seems the space given to you is considerable. You wouldn’t mind if it shrank a bit more, would you?”

At those words, Polo Ye felt the distorted domain field around them shrink again.

Polo Ye was shocked, if the space shrank any further, there wouldn’t even be a foothold when the Lord of the City arrives. This wouldn’t do.

Polo Ye quickly shifted the topic, a rare hint of flattery flashing in his sapphire eyes, ”Shoo Lo~ Shoo Lo~ I just want to ease the atmosphere, look how tense it is outside now. If you think it’s inappropriate, I’ll shut up. Hmm, shutting up.”

Pink eight-tentacled appendages blocked his toothed mouth, presenting a self-sealed and self-closed appearance.

The Observer snorted coldly.

The twisted domain field also aptly stopped shrinking, seeming to echo the Observer.

As Polo Ye watched the Observer’s calm and indifferent face, he cursed inwardly: Shoo Lo Shoo Lo! You may be arrogant now! Wait till the Lord of the City arrives, then I’ll have him cut off your nose! Watch you still hum!

While Polo Ye cursed the Observer, the Observer’s focus was on the green-pattern domain field.

The recent events once again demonstrated one point, the green-pattern domain field is ”controlled” by someone.

And this person, is definitely Angel.

The Observer glanced at Angel from the corner of his eye, the latter still mesmerized by the distant mysterious fruit... Such acting skills, truly superb.

At least the Observer couldn’t detect any trace of acting from Angel.

If the Observer couldn’t see through it, Polo Ye certainly couldn’t either.

At that moment, the Observer shook his head, suddenly feeling as though he couldn’t understand Angel anymore. Clearly, you are awake, and know how to use the domain field to assist him, yet still acting. Is it to showcase the ability to deceive even a Legendary Wizard?

Or does Angel think that if he wakes up, he will be asked questions he doesn’t want to answer. For instance, why has the green-pattern domain field suddenly become so powerful, able to ward against disorderly rhythms? Or, his insights during the birth of the disordered object?

He doesn’t want to answer these questions, so deliberately enters master acting mode?

The Observer believes he has realized the truth.

That rascal is cautious, guarding strictly. Though, the Observer still appreciates Angel’s cautious attitude, because... if Angel truly woke up now, he couldn’t resist inquiring about the green-pattern domain field and the disorder insights.

It’s too rare, even the usually calm Observer couldn’t resist having his curiosity piqued.

No matter what thoughts the Observer and Polo Ye had at this moment, in the next second, their thoughts paused.

Because the shell in the distance fell off once again.

Moreover, this time, the shell almost completely fell off. The inner ”fruit flesh” part, due to the significant falling of the shell, also finally revealed a hint of its true form.

Although most of the fruit part was still covered by the blood-red mist, some parts were thin enough to vaguely see what seemed to be a woven metallic structure inside.

Because only a small part was exposed, it was impossible to see the whole picture. However, from this small part of the woven metal structure, the Observer was reminded of many years ago when he was still a coachman at some noble manor, holding a metal woven lamp while the nobility traveled at night.

At that time, the country he resided in had a vast amount of gold mines, and the trend of gold luxury was rampant among the nobility. Even the lamps carried at night had to be made with gold to form a net-like framework, with silver wax burning inside. They came in various shapes: square, triangular, and most commonly, round.

As for the bit of metal woven structure on the fruit, if imagined fully, it seemed like a round metallic net framework.

Although the Mysterious Fruit turned into something woven with metal after losing order, looking somewhat strange, such mysterious objects were inherently a conglomerate of various bizarre elements. Not to mention a metal woven net—even if a life form leaped out from the flesh after the red mist disappeared, they would not be surprised.

Putting aside the true appearance of the disorderly object, almost more than ninety percent of the fruit shell had fallen off. Naturally, the attraction also increased, but oddly, the three people within the Distorted Domain Field did not feel much pressure.

Due to this, Polo Ye regarded the Observer with a little more esteem. If it was just itself at this moment, it might feel considerable pressure. But knowing that the Lord of the City would arrive soon, Polo Ye didn’t care about the Observer’s prowess—what did it matter how strong he was, he was just a tool.

As for the Observer, he was more curious about Angel’s Green Pattern Domain Field. Angel... and what was the relationship with that place?

Because of the Green Pattern Domain Field, their focus on the attraction was greatly reduced. Instead, they were more concerned about whether the effect of the traction would change after more of the fruit shell falls off.

If it still only attracted general energy, just with a slightly expanded range, that would be the best outcome.

But if it attracted special energies, for example, spatial energy, then it would truly be a catastrophe.

To confirm what was on their minds, they kept a close eye on the Mysterious Fruit.

Soon, they saw a portion of the space around the Mysterious Fruit suddenly turn black.

This situation was like a complete blue sky puzzle, suddenly missing a piece in the middle, and that dark, hollow absence immediately became the focal point of attention.

And this was only the beginning.

One piece of the puzzle fell, which loosened the other perfectly fitting pieces as well. Naturally, the second piece of the puzzle fell. With the first and second pieces falling, a chain avalanche immediately formed, with numerous pieces falling in quick succession, leaving behind a gigantic black void.

The reality was just as such; everything near the Mysterious Fruit turned pitch black, the sky dome in the background disappeared, and the surging waves rushing into the black space vanished too.

”This is... a space collapse.” The Observer’s face turned grim upon witnessing this scene.

The worst outcome had already appeared.

Polo Ye’s expression was also unpleasant because according to its original calculations, once the Lord of the City arrived with his immense power, he would whisk it away unhindered. Along the way, he could take the Mysterious Fruit too.

But now, it seemed that even if the Lord of the City’s Divine Thought arrived, it was almost impossible to take away that Mysterious Fruit.

Even spatial energy was being drawn in; once this disorderly item was fully formed, it would undoubtedly be terrifying to the extreme.

Placed anywhere, even in the Void, it would become a dreadful disaster. The difficulty of containment would skyrocket infinitely. In fact, it would be fundamentally uncontainable—it would only be exiled.

”We can’t stay here any longer.”

The Observer looked at the last small piece of the fruit shell in the distance—just this tiny piece of shell was temporarily shackling the maturation of the disorderly item. Once this shell fell, the pace of disorder would be thoroughly unleashed.

According to the experience of predecessors, once the disorderly pace is completely released, the effects of disorder will be tenfold, or even a hundredfold, exceeding the current level!

In other words, once that last piece of shell falls, the position they are in will be covered by traction in an instant, resulting in space collapse, element breakdown, energy dissociation... With the presence of attraction, there would be no possibility for them to survive.

The Observer turned to Polo Ye: ”How soon will that external aid you mentioned arrive? Are you sure the channel is secure when he arrives?”

Polo Ye also understood the urgency of the situation and stopped bantering, ”At most one minute, the passage is definitely secure. When he arrives, we can leave through the passage.”

The Observer nodded, showing no surface emotion, but feeling a surge of worry internally.

It wasn’t that he doubted Polo Ye’s words, but he was worried about Angel.

He always felt that it wasn’t the Mysterious Fruit sealing off the surrounding space, but Angel’s Green Pattern Domain Field.

If it was indeed Angel, and he hadn’t lifted the spatial restrictions by now, still waiting for Polo Ye’s reinforcements to arrive, could it be that his previous suspicions were correct?

Angel, what exactly are you trying to do?

After hesitating for a moment, the Observer still couldn’t put Angel’s situation out of his mind and decided to chat with Angel.

—No matter what plan you have, at least leave first.

In the Observer’s view, Angel was ”performing” a facade of indulgence. He didn’t intend to expose him directly and instead used some concealed means, shielding with the Distorted Domain Field, to communicate secretly.

However, just as the Observer was about to send a message,

a space rift suddenly opened up in the gap between the Observer and Polo Ye.

The Observer instinctively thought it was the arrival of Polo Ye’s mentioned arrival and slightly stepped aside, making room for the newcomers.

Polo Ye initially thought it was the arrival of the Lord of the City, but then it found it strange; the Lord of the City had mentioned he would notify them upon arrival. How did he arrive so suddenly without warning?

Polo Ye thought for a moment and opened its mind: ”My Lord?”

Before Polo Ye could speak, Gluz Deward directly said: ”The one who came isn’t me.”

”Hasn’t the Lord arrived yet?”

”Half a minute.”

Polo Ye’s heart skipped a beat. Since the space rift wasn’t opened by Gluz Deward, who opened it? Who came?

Moreover, this entity chose the safest spot in this sea area?

While Polo Ye was in doubt, the space rift before it... silently closed again.

What the?!

Why did it close without letting anyone in?

Opening inexplicably and then closing inexplicably as well? Could this be someone’s prank?

Polo Ye looked towards the Observer, only to see the Observer with a peculiar expression, staring in the direction where Angel was.
