Chapter 2445: Chapter 2446: Wang Wang’s Goal

Ninety-nine percent of mysterious objects are born from nature, each with different causes.

The Observer narrates one of these causes.

This cause corresponds to his speculation about Reynaud.

However, whether the real answer is as the Observer speculated, no one can confirm. Even if a mysterious alchemist comes, they might not have a definitive answer.

Nevertheless, because of the Observer’s words, Angel has developed a great interest in Reynaud... Actually, the Barbarian Cave wouldn’t mind having another mascot?

After all, the Lacey Association’s laboratory is practically half-paralyzed, so Reynaud is basically free. Perhaps Nausicaa could convince him to join the Barbarian Cave and put his remaining warmth to use. In that case, Angel could also observe closely to see if there’s truly a mysterious pregnancy within Reynaud.

Angel secretly made a decision in his heart; maybe he could try it once it’s all done here.

While Angel was envisioning things, his hand was suddenly touched, feeling a bit soft and bouncy, like encountering soft, icy jelly.

Angel looked down, and in the vision of energy, a Void Traveler covered in a faint purple light, like amethyst, was constantly colliding with the back of his hand, with an effort more earnest than a professional extortion team.

”Heideland?” Angel quietly called out its name.

Heideland stopped its ”collision” and floated leisurely before Angel, its soft body naturally turning into a pancake shape, trying to cover Angel’s face.

Angel already understood Heideland’s intention... It must be that Wang Wang needed to contact him.

But now seemed not a good time to connect.

Angel glanced at the Observer and found he wasn’t looking at him but was focused on No. 03 in the distance.

Angel thought for a while and finally used his left index finger to lightly tap his forehead.

Upon receiving the ”signal,” Heideland immediately pressed its soft body against Angel’s face, especially around the forehead, almost completely covering it.

If someone were to use an energy view to investigate now, they would find Angel’s forehead seemingly embedded with a dazzling purple crystal.

As Heideland’s energy tendrils sank into Angel’s forehead.

The virtual network connection was successful.

Angel silently imagined the system’s ”ding ding” sound, as a ceremonial necessity of the virtual network connection, although it was rather useless.

Angel: ”Wang Wang?”

Almost without delay, Wang Wang’s voice quickly reached Angel’s mind: ”I’m here, have you reached the target coordinates vicinity?”

Angel looked distantly at Polo Ye, who seemed to sense his gaze and looked back at him. Angel hastily withdrew his gaze, lowered his head, pretending nothing had happened.

Polo Ye looked at Angel, showing a pure yet eerie smile.

”If the visitor you mentioned from the Phantom Spirit City is a pink octopus, then I’m near it. I’m less than a nautical mile away.” Angel replied.

”Yes, it’s precisely it!” Wang Wang was delighted in the Void.

A distance of one nautical mile, for Wang Wang, was practically a face-on coordinate. Before, Wang Wang thought it might be offset by dozens or even hundreds of nautical miles, requiring it to adjust its position upon entering the Southern Domain.

Unexpectedly, Angel had reached this point, closing in at one nautical mile!

This way, there was no difference at all, directly allowing the master to descend!

He could say Angel’s coordinates not only facilitated the master’s actions but also significantly reduced Wang Wang’s risk. After all, its strength was too weak; it would be best not to enter the Southern Domain directly with its physical body.

But the joy was momentary, as it quickly considered other aspects.

Wang Wang was silent for a moment: ”You’re, you’re okay, right?”

Wang Wang had seen Angel and naturally understood the great difference in strength between Angel and Polo Ye. Angel being so close to Polo Ye, was he really alright?

Angel didn’t have the same Void traversal ability. This close, was it really fine?

Angel pondered for a moment and understood Wang Wang’s concern: ”You don’t need to worry, I’m temporarily fine... By the way, do I need to get a bit closer here?”

Wang Wang: ”It’s good, your position is already very suitable.”

Angel: ”That’s great, this way you don’t have to risk entering the Southern Domain. Polo Ye is very strong, your traversal ability might not be quick enough to respond before it targets you.”

Angel’s seemingly casual comfort actually held a personal agenda. He pointed this out so Wang Wang would understand he was exerting and ”contributing” for Wang Wang’s safety.

Angel didn’t intend to cash in on Wang Wang’s gratitude; he simply believed the more Wang Wang felt apologetic, the smoother their future interactions might be.

To Angel, Wang Wang possessed two incredibly potent abilities, one for higher-dimensional Void traversal, the other for managing the entire Void Traveler’s ”virtual network.” Though neither had attack power, their effects were more useful than many mysterious objects, without side effects.

If Angel wanted to visit various worlds or roam the Void in the future, Wang Wang’s capabilities would definitely make things much easier.

However, Wang Wang’s affinity leaned more towards the Dalmatian, thus its attitude towards Angel was slightly alienated.

So, Angel hoped to bridge the gap using this sense of guilt. Anyway, he was speaking the truth, and Angel wouldn’t harm Wang Wang, therefore he had no qualms in pretending to be ”contributing.”

On the other hand, Wang Wang could indeed feel Angel’s sacrifice for it.

After all, Wang Wang was not familiar with the complicated and varied human mind; it tended to have a straightforward view. Therefore, it genuinely felt somewhat guilty.

”Thank... you.”

Angel discerned the sincerity in Wang Wang’s voice, his lips slightly curving: ”It’s nothing, even if this place is extremely dangerous, and Polo Ye’s strength could easily kill me with a flick, it’s okay, I’m not dying just yet. Also, you don’t need to feel too guilty; I’m not here purely because of you, I also want to witness the rise of the disordered object...”

Angel’s words were clearly a strategy of retreat for advancement.

Angel asked Wang Wang not to feel guilty, yet described the current danger and reality, making Wang Wang feel even more apologetic.

The effect was noticeable.

Wang Wang’s voice became even softer: ”Thank you very much, if not for my disrespectful request, you wouldn’t be involved in this.”

Angel: ”It’s okay, but I’m rather curious, why are you so focused on Polo Ye? Um... Polo Ye is that pink octopus that you mentioned; it’s also a second-class citizen of the Phantom Spirit City.”

Normally, Wang Wang might hesitate a bit before answering, but now it replied without any hesitation: ”The clan near the Southern Domain’s void first discovered Polo Ye and reported to me. I traversed the void to take a look and found that inside Polo Ye, there’s the aura of the City Lord of the Phantom Spirit City.”

”Isn’t that normal? I’ve heard Polo Ye is favored by Gluz Deward, so it’s normal for it to be tainted with the City Lord’s aura, right?” Angel questioned, and how did this concern Wang Wang?

”It’s not a normal aura, rather, it’s an undulation of consciousness. Within Polo Ye exists the consciousness of that City Lord.”

”Are you saying Polo Ye contains Gluz Deward’s consciousness thoughts?”

Angel’s heart skipped a beat; if this is true, the danger level here wouldn’t just be stellar but rather exponentially increasing in potential consequence.

Wang Wang: ”Yes, I can be sure.”

The reason for this discovery is Wang Wang’s innate talent. As a weak Void Traveler, they navigate the Void and have never been captured by Void Creatures precisely because their sense of energy aura is extraordinary.

Angel furrowed his brow: ”How do you know that Divine Thought belongs to Gluz Deward?”

”I have a kin nearby the Origin World. I asked him to observe that one’s aura near the Phantom Spirit City.”

Angel: ”...” Your kin really are spread across all the worlds, and also, the Void network is really handy, information spreads across the Void faster than any Spirit Realm Walker!

The Mother Tree Network feels like it’s been instantly reduced to shambles.

”I didn’t expect Gluz Deward actually came?” Angel’s expression became somewhat grave, even if it’s just a Divine Thought, its significance is extraordinary.

Temporarily suppressing the unease about Gluz Deward, Angel continued to ask: ”But I still don’t understand why you want to locate Polo Ye, and let... it descend. Are you planning to deal with Polo Ye?”

This time, Wang Wang hesitated slightly and didn’t reply immediately.

But connecting the dots with Angel’s perilous close contact with Polo Ye for the sake of convenience in locating it, Wang Wang’s heart softened a bit, and finally revealed the answer.

”Earlier, while in that painting world, I heard Mr. Feng’s words.”

Angel: ”Mr. Feng’s words?”

Angel was also in the painting world at the time and talked with Feng for a long time. He wasn’t sure which words concerning Polo Ye Wang Wang meant?

Wang Wang: ”Mr. Feng said, Gluz Deward’s Phantom Spirit City also has a Void Traveler...”

With Wang Wang’s reminder, Angel instantly recalled. At the time, Feng saw Wang Wang, thought Wang Wang was Angel’s pet, and even specifically warned him to avoid the Phantom Spirit City in the future. Because Wang Wang might be a mutated Void Traveler, an extremely precious magical creature, if Gluz Deward saw it, he might just take it.

After saying these words, Feng also casually mentioned that it’s said there is a Void Traveler in the Phantom Spirit City taken by Gluz Deward.

Even though Void Travelers are weak, most Void Travelers are not much stronger than ordinary humans, this race’s rarity is universally acknowledged.

Because they are just too rare.

Rare, weak, yet able to survive in the Void. This indicates there are certainly aspects worthy of research, many Wizards really want to study Void Travelers, yet they can’t find samples at all.

Even Feng only occasionally saw descriptions of Void Travelers in very obscure and niche books.

So, Phantom Spirit City having a Void Traveler made a lasting impression on him, and he particularly pointed it out when talking with Angel.

This sentence deeply embedded itself in Wang Wang’s memory.

”So you’re planning to rescue that Void Traveler that fell into Phantom Spirit City?”

Wang Wang: ”Yes.”

For Wang Wang, the sheer number of Void Travelers is very small; every kin is extremely important and absolutely cannot be abandoned easily.

”I remember many saying Gluz Deward treats his citizens pretty well, he should treat that Void Traveler alright too? Maybe it doesn’t want to leave by itself? Why don’t you go directly ask?”

To this, Wang Wang responded: ”There indeed is a Void Traveler inside Phantom Spirit City. But oddly enough, I can’t contact it.”

It’s precisely due to the inability to contact it that Wang Wang is more concerned.

”I see.” Angel could discern the anxiousness and urgency in Wang Wang’s tone, ”So you want to capture Polo Ye to threaten Gluz Deward into releasing your kin?”

Wang Wang: ”Not just Polo Ye, but also that City Lord’s Divine Thought.”

Angel roughly understood Wang Wang’s thought process, but he had doubts whether such a plan was actually feasible?

Even if Gluz Deward truly wanted to exchange, could it really be achieved? After all, humans are quite skilled at deceiving, and among Void Travelers, besides Wang Wang being the intelligent mutant, the others lack intelligence, and Wang Wang is quite naive. Facing a conniving and experienced City Lord, might they fail to rescue their kin and end up losing themselves?

Angel would very much prefer Wang Wang not get involved.

He voiced his concerns, Wang Wang was silent for a moment before replying, ”I understand your apprehensions, I won’t personally enact this plan, nor will I approach that City Lord. I’ve already pleaded to the Lord and He has agreed to my request.”

Hearing Wang Wang say so put Angel slightly at ease.

After all, that Lord is rather formidable.

The reason Angel was willing to return to the Mist Belt’s Central District was also in part due to that Lord, after all, he owed him a big favor.

...

The communication with Wang Wang temporarily ceased, and Angel removed Heideland from his forehead.

The gentle, cool sensation felt incredibly comfortable.

Angel couldn’t help but give Heideland a rub, Heideland enjoyed Angel’s touch, lying adeptly in Angel’s hand, akin to a little hamster soothed almost to sleep.

After relieving his stress, Angel raised his head, intending to check the progress of the fruit’s maturation.

But as he lifted his head, the Mysterious Fruit was yet unseen; what met his eyes first were the questioning eyes of the Observer.

The Observer quietly gazed at the Void Traveler in Angel’s hand, seemingly pondering something.

”L-Lord.” Angel softly uttered.

The Observer regained his composure, glanced at Angel, and asked, ”Can Void Travelers communicate?”

A Void Traveler floated near Angel, seen by the Observer earlier which surprised him, not expecting Angel to have a Void Traveler as a pet since Void Travelers are very rare.

The Observer was not particularly fond of studying magical creatures, so merely noted it with a bit of surprise without further concern.

But Angel’s previous actions caused him to pay some attention.

In his memory, Void Travelers are known as low-intelligent and timid beings, but observing Angel’s interaction suggested they might be capable of communication?

Void Travelers that can communicate and those that cannot are significantly different in terms of quality.

Wisdom races able to roam the Void, yet weak and controllable, could entirely become Void mediums. Many Void trade groups rise relying on similar species.

”Direct communication is impossible, but it can sense some of its emotions.” Angel thought a moment before admitting the truth. Lies cannot conceal from the Observer.

”Unable to communicate...” The Observer’s expression showed a slight disappointment. If communication wasn’t possible, then its functionality considerably diminishes to mere research value.

”Then why did it insert its energy tendril into your brow?”

This time, Angel didn’t reply; lies are ineffective, Wang Wang can’t be exposed, so he greeted the inquiry with silence.

The Observer frowned, just as he was about to speak further, a sound of ”plop” suddenly resonated across the sky from afar.
