Chapter 2429: Chapter 2430: The Splendid Polo Ye

As the pink octopus used its gem-like eyes to gaze toward the Southern Domain, a slight twisted chasm suddenly appeared beside it.

It narrowed its glowing eyes and raised one of its octopus tentacles, seemingly wanting to disperse the twisted chasm, but for some reason, it later slowly lowered its tentacle, quietly waiting for the twisted chasm to generate.

Two seconds later, the twisted chasm was fully constructed, and a mental wave emanated from within it.

”Second-class Citizen, the magnificent Polo Ye.”

”Shoo la shoo la~ So it’s the Orderly Guild’s... Shoo la~ forgot one can’t directly call names now, you are the Observer.” The pink octopus’ voice was quite adorable, like a soft baby babbling.

As it spoke, terrifying fluctuations of intent vaguely rippled around.

”The will of the Southern Domain, don’t be so stingy, I didn’t even mention his name. Also, shoo la shoo la, it’s not me who wants to approach him, he came to find me himself.”

Water gleamed in the sapphire eyes, seeming pitiful.

”The World Will is irrational and won’t reason with you. It’ll naturally dissipate when I leave,” the Observer’s voice conveyed again from the twisted chasm.

”Then hurry up and leave, don’t bully shoo la shoo la.”

”Don’t worry, I’ll be gone soon, but before that, I want to say a few words to you.”

”Shoo la? Although the Lord of the City says a lady shouldn’t casually approach the opposite sex, but I can’t help it, the will frightens me terribly, so I have no choice but to listen. However, if you use will to threaten me, I’ll report it to the Lord of the City.” Polo Ye raised the tentacles on both sides, like an elegant girl lifting the edges of her long dress, idly at ease.

”...” When did I use the World Will to threaten you?

The Observer felt exhausted, having long heard Polo Ye was eccentric, but didn’t expect it to be true.

Clearly, Gluz Deward has so many Illusory Spirit citizens to send, why choose her?

It’s said Polo Ye is deeply favored by Gluz Deward; whatever she wants, she gets it just by pouting. Could it be, her trip to the Southern Domain this time was also obtained by pouting?

”I’ll keep it brief, though I don’t know why the City Lord of Phantom Spirit City sent you here, I know what you came to do. I hope...”

Before finishing, Polo Ye suddenly lifted two tentacles to cover its gem eyes, letting out a wailing cry.

”Boo— I’m being discriminated against, discriminated against! I must tell the Lord of the City, I want him to make your head into a wine glass!”

”I didn’t discriminate against you.”

”Shoo la shoo la! You’re lying, you discriminated, I heard the discrimination in your tone! You’re saying I don’t deserve to be here, mocking me for proactively claiming a place here, you’re just like South Wave, laughing at me, thinking I can’t handle things, shame, shame!”

”...”

On the other side of the twisted chasm, in a misty space, the Observer silently listened to Polo Ye’s accusations and wailing, with throbbing vein on his forehead. He really wanted to rush out and give Polo Ye a beating.

But considering the status as a second-class citizen, he... endured.

However, it can’t end like this. Once today’s matters are settled, he’ll go to the sea to catch octopuses and chop off their tentacles for skewers!

Seeing Polo Ye constantly crying with no sign of stopping, the Observer found it pointless to explain and directly stated:

”Whatever you do in the Southern Domain, it’s best to be measured. Just like the person you want to capture, despite bizarre actions over forty years since descending into the Southern Domain, hasn’t been rejected by World Will—you should try to achieve the same.”

Phantom Spirit City has some citizens emboldened by Gluz Deward’s backing, with history of encroaching peripheral worlds, thus the Observer feels the need for prior warning.

Nonetheless, given the Southern Domain as one of the Wizards’ Realms, there’s little risk of being destroyed. But don’t be fooled by Polo Ye’s cute appearance, she harbors somewhat pathological arrogance and no one can predict what she’ll do and to what extent.

Although Polo Ye’s strength may not be formidable, dealing with her is exceedingly challenging.

The Observer even thought sending some Diamond Citizens would be better than Polo Ye. At least those magical beings that qualify as Diamond Citizens have seen the world; they know what should and shouldn’t be done.

”You not only discriminate against me, but you’re also threatening me. Anger, fury! Shoo la shoo la!” Polo Ye’s watery sapphire eyes morphed from round to a semicircular arc, seemingly expressing her anger.

”The more you tell me not to do, the more I want to do! Shoo la!”

The Observer now accustomed to Polo Ye’s quirky temperament, didn’t react much to her words, indifferently stating: ”Do as you please, you should know the consequences of crossing boundaries. As an Observer, I won’t interfere with your actions, but I’ll document every outrageous act as counter-examples for the Orderly Guild.”

”So what? Shoo la?”

The Observer didn’t reply, instead slowly closed the space-time chasm, having simply delivered a message and notification now leaving action choice to Polo Ye.

Polo Ye looked at the closed chasm with an angry expression, furiously flailing claws and teeth in place.

After two full minutes.

Polo Ye’s expression suddenly shifted, returning to calm as if nothing had fussed previously.

”Shoo la shoo la, esteemed Lord of the City, will the Observer’s actions affect me?”

It spoke softly, like muttering to itself. Strangely enough, the moment after, a new voice resonated, originating from Polo Ye herself.

”The Observer won’t interfere with your actions, as when South Wave destroyed the primordial civilization, he’d observe but not act upon you.” An incredibly low male voice spoke, profound and deep.

”So, he won’t affect me. Does it mean anything that he records my actions? Shoo la?”

The voice of the ”Lord of the City” echoed again: ”The Orderly Guild maintains a role of punishing transgressors upon discovery. But with you, seeing my favor, despite the Observer documenting your misconducts, the Orderly Guild won’t take action against you.”

Polo Ye’s eyes gleamed: ”Does that mean I can be completely uninhibited?”

”Though the Orderly Guild won’t act against you, the Southern Domain Wizard World as one of the Wizards’ Realms—that born within here include many Legendary Wizards, and there’s greater power presence. If they witness your transgressions and act against you, I may not be able to protect you.”

This underlines the Wizard Realm’s depth; don’t underrate the Southern Domain’s locals now, but once legendary wizards soared from here, they may not fear Phantom Spirit City.

”Moreover, Phantom Spirit City also has citizens from the Southern Domain, like Shiz.”

Upon hearing Shiz, Polo Ye exhibited slight fear: ”Means Lord of the City suggests Shiz might act against me?”

”Should Shiz’s bloodline descendants suffer something, he’s justified to act against you.”

With that perspective, Polo Ye seemed to understand, though a thought struck: ”Then Lord of the City, if Shiz’s bloodline descendants indeed encounter trouble, would you also act against me?”

After a low chuckle: ”Guess.”

Polo Ye seemed to understand something and said a bit aggrievedly, ”Before, I thought that the Lord of the City had sent a Divine Thought because he was worried about me. Now it seems, I misunderstood—whoosh, whoosh, I’m still not important enough. It turns out only by becoming a Diamond Citizen can I catch the Lord’s eye.”

The response was still that silent chuckle.

Polo Ye’s gloom lasted only a few seconds. Soon, its expression changed back to optimism. It stroked its smooth head with a tentacle, ”Looks like I need to work hard, I will reach Diamond Citizen status soon! Let’s start by completing this mission first!”

Polo Ye reoriented the target’s position.

It wasn’t long before Polo Ye detected a familiar fluctuation, ”Whoosh, I’ve found Deep Space... it seems to be possessing a dirty Low-level Monster this time, such a strong smell of decay. Whoosh? Strange, isn’t Deep Space supposed to hate decay the most? How could it possess such a monster?”

Polo Ye didn’t quite understand the exact situation on Deep Space’s side, but once it pinpointed Deep Space, finding the target became much easier.

”I wonder if Deep Space has stopped the target from harming the Bloodline descendant. We’ll go have a look—whoosh, let’s go!”

Polo Ye shouted its slogan loudly, and with a gentle flick of its tentacle, it bounced out a large section of empty space-time distance like a gentle wave of putty.

However, just as Polo Ye was about to continue forward, the voice of the ”Lord of the City” suddenly rang out: ”Wait.”

Polo Ye hadn’t reacted when a powerful Mind Essence suddenly descended, attempting to take over the control of its body.

Polo Ye could resist, but it didn’t, and naturally welcomed the descent of the Mind Essence.

As the Mind Essence descended, Polo Ye’s expression became increasingly composed. Although its appearance remained a pink little octopus, it no longer gave off a ”cute” feeling but rather gloom and obscurity.

The Polo Ye possessed by the Mind Essence did not continue forward but instead turned to look towards the distant Void.

It silently stared for tens of seconds, without a word.

After a long while, the Mind Essence disappeared, and Polo Ye regained control of its body.

It curiously asked, ”Lord of the City, what just happened? Whoosh?”

”... It seems that someone is peeping from a distant place.”

”In the Void? Whoosh?”

”I can’t be sure, it seems to be in the Void, but also seems not...”

Polo Ye speculated, ”Could it be the Observer secretly watching?”

”No. Although I couldn’t find any signs of the other party, my mood inexplicably feels a bit excited.” The originally deep male voice suddenly rose in pitch.

Polo Ye’s expression paused for a moment, then quickly realized: ”The Lord of the City’s meaning is, a mystical creature in the Void?”

The only thing that could excite the City Lord of Phantom Spirit City, was a mystical creature.

Yes, the Mind Essence possessing Polo Ye was indeed a strand of Gluz Deward’s Divine Thought.

”Probably,” Gluz Deward’s Divine Thought said softly.

Polo Ye: ”Should we find it and bring it into the city?”

”Forget it, the creatures in the Void that can excite me are countless. Many existences that even my true self can’t handle, let alone just a Divine Thought.” Gluz Deward’s tone was slightly regretful. The more special the existence, the more it excited him. He had a vague feeling that this mystical creature peeping from the Void was probably very special, as it could excite him from such a remote distance, indicating the other’s extraordinary nature.

If it could truly be brought into Phantom Spirit City, he would be excited enough to start a citizen celebration.

But, as wonderful as the fantasy is, one must face reality.

The other party could sense Polo Ye from such a remote distance, suggesting its strength was also extraordinary. Creatures that could survive in the Void were inherently difficult to deal with, not to mention strong ones.

Even the true form may not be able to deal with it, let alone a Divine Thought, so it’s best to accept reality.

Gluz Deward: ”We’ve already been discovered. If the other party bears malice, they might come quickly. Head to the Southern Domain first; with the suppression of the World Will, the other party won’t easily come in, and they might not even find the entrance to the Southern Domain in the interlayer.”

Polo Ye nodded: ”Whoosh, whoosh, understood!”

Without paying further attention to the peeper in the Void, Polo Ye transformed into a pink arrow and disappeared into the pitch-black void space, entering the boundless interlayer.

...

On the mist-covered sea.

Angel relayed his encounter with the Observer in the Mind Ribbon.

Although Kanter didn’t respond immediately, Angel knew from the scattered feedback from Ferro that they probably heard it too.

Nis: ”I didn’t expect the person Ferro encountered before to be an Observer. Observers are pretty good, at least there’s no need to worry about them veering towards the Laboratory.”

Angel: ”Observers won’t interfere with the Southern Domain’s affairs, so we can put that aside for now. But the situation mentioned by the Observer must be taken seriously. If Phantom Spirit City indeed dispatched a powerful Extraordinary Life to the Southern Domain, we had better swiftly leave the vicinity.”

Undoubtedly, distancing ourselves is the best strategy.

It would be terrible if we were inadvertently affected because we were nearby.

Nis also agreed with Angel’s view. What they needed had already been acquired, and leaving now wouldn’t incur a loss, but Ferro and Kanter were still in a standoff over there.

”Ferro, can you hear me?”

Because Ferro had given a brief response earlier, Nis thought about it and decided to try contacting Ferro first.

”I heard your conversation, and I also agree with Angel, but it seems Lord Ruye has shielded the Mind Ribbon, and I can’t approach right now,” Ferro said swiftly.

Nis frowned slightly, ”What’s going on with you guys? Hasn’t Lord Ruye subdued No. 03 yet?”

Ferro was currently navigating through wave after wave of giant waves, trying to get closer to the center of the battlefield, but the waves were too large, and the energy impact was very strong, forcing Ferro to retreat step by step.

As he retreated, Ferro also spoke in the Mind Ribbon, ”No. 03 seemed to have consumed something before and now has a form similar to a Treant, its strength suddenly increased dramatically.”
