Warhammer Divine Throne

But Laine is different. As the son of that person, Laine has his own beliefs and his own pride.

Although he often mocks his father verbally, deep down, he is grateful and admires his father. He has always taken the mission given to him by his father as his ultimate goal.

Yurik? Surface-level belief.

So after Lorne spoke, indeed Laine’s mind started to murmur.

With thoughts swirling, his facial expression naturally changed. Seeing this, Lorne’s goatee slightly curled up, and he stopped speaking.

The two paused for a while, each savoring their wine, without speaking further.

Observing Laine’s expression through the glass of red wine, Lorne’s mind was also in motion.

As the eldest son of the Duke of Connet in Brittania, Lorne-Rio Cornwall received an extremely complete and excellent education from a young age. Whether in culture, military, or politics, he was trained as the first heir to the Duke, and he did not disappoint. This year, at thirty-seven, he already embarked on the Path of the Holy Grail.

Just now, the Lady’s incarnation appeared before him, giving him instructions.

The Lady needs loyalty from the person before him!

If it were someone else, Lorne might find it strange. But if it’s this renowned hero of the Nord Kingdom, noble by birth, and in appearance and strength meeting all standards, ”Great Hammer” Laine, Lorne doesn’t find anything unusual. He knows Julius’s strength, and anyone who can match Julius and independently slay the Doomsday Bull is naturally qualified to serve the great Lady.

Lowly peasants are unworthy of the Lady, but excellent knights are naturally supposed to serve the Lady, offering loyalty to her, aren’t they?

So... comparisons do bring harm, don’t they?

Laine does not understand Lorne’s thoughts, but the words of this Mission Knight did indeed resonate with him. The young White Wolf Knight was already anxious about his current slow progress, and in Lorne’s ”unintentional” words, an idea crossed his mind: Perhaps Yurik isn’t the best choice.

He chose to believe in Yurik partly because his foster father, Norman, was a devout follower of Yurik and professionally a White Wolf Knight, and partly because of Yurik’s resolute stance against the Chaos Evil God.

This was because Yurik’s followers were almost all located in the Northern Empire and Nord Kingdom, and every time the Chaos Army marched south, the first to be annihilated were Yurik’s followers, which was certainly unacceptable to Yurik. Therefore, he must fight Chaos to the end, for a deity’s existence is based on the faith of its followers. Without followers, the deity will gradually lose power until it falls and disappears.

Another reason is that among the Four Chaotic Evil Gods, Blood God Khorne represents hatred and war, a War God, while Yurik, a representative of winter and war, is also a War God. Between these two gods, only one can remain.

So without more words, come fight, without rest, without end.

But, the Lake Fairy is also a deity fighting endlessly against Chaos!

Moreover, to Laine, what he believes in is nothing more than a guise. Deep down, he always believed that deities and followers are just in a relationship of use and being used. Followers offer their faith and strength to deities, and deities protect their followers and bestow Divine Grace.

What he truly believes in is only that cold golden light that sent him to this world.
