Villain Extra: Rogue Reader

Professor’s Lounge

”Bwahahahaa, I just knew this kid had it in him.” Hewes laughed wildly as he patted Louis’ shoulder.

Louis grumbled and slapped Hewes’ hand away from him.

”This isn’t even a fair fight.” Louis clicked his tongue. He refused to accept this defeat when many students were knocked out by their own spells from the get-go.

”The formation must have been faulty from the long-term use. Otherwise, why would it suddenly rebound and reflect the attacks back to them?” He argued.

”You know that’s not true.” Hewes rolled his eyes. If the formation had been faulty, an alert would have been sent to them.

But then again, Hewes was also curious why the students’ attack rebounded rather than being absorbed.

Soon, the numerous professors turned their sights to the most knowledgeable one in the lounge: Margaret.

”Why are you all looking at me?” Margaret mused and stood up. ”The formation isn’t faulty, and the student wasn’t breaking any rules. But you all owe me money for losing the bet.”

”That’s right!” Hewes quickly chimed in and joined Margaret’s side.

He was one of the few who chose to believe in Margaret’s judgment and bet alongside her.

Clark was also the same, but it was also because he didn’t think someone would actually be that foolish to challenge the Fourth Prince without any abilities.

Moreover, Clark doubted Marquis Robert’s vision to be that terrible either.

’No wonder the Marquis adopted him as a son. His methods are not quite honorable, but they get the job done. It’s much better than someone flaunting their background and ending up being a fool.’ Clark made a mental note to himself.

There was no need for him to make an enemy out of someone like Raymond.

Someone like them who didn’t abide by the rules and did whatever they wanted was the very definition of big trouble.

Why should he seek such trouble for himself?

’I’ve repaid my debt to House Viren, so they better not try to come to me again.’ Clark was determined to avoid Raymond like the plague. He was no longer the ignorant person who didn’t consider the overall picture anymore.

Margaret had smacked enough sense into him already.

While it remained clear to everyone at present that nothing faulty was present, they were clueless as to how Raymond managed to pull off the stunt.

They could only depressingly pay Margaret her winning fees. Her magic storage pouch was fed well today.

’This Ray is indeed talented. To think he would utilize an Elemental Barrier to increase the buoyancy barrier level in the formation.’ Margaret never expected this rude student to be that talented.

He might not understand the true logic behind it, but the fact that he pulled it off was commendable.

Still, he was frustrating as hell.

’I bet many students are going to file a complaint soon.’ Margaret could already imagine the people working there to be filled with headaches.

But that wasn’t her problem to deal with.

...

Ray’s Dorm

At this moment, Ray returned to his dorm with Belva, and the first thing he did was throw himself on the comfortable bed.

PLOPPED!

”Young Master Ray, you should at least wash yourself...” Belva wanted to remind him that it was unwise to sleep with a sweaty body. But to her surprise, she found him fast asleep already.

He didn’t snore or anything, but his face was rather peaceful when he wasn’t going around doing his eccentric antics.

’I guessed he really overdid it in the arena section.’

Truth be told, she was also astonished when she witnessed Ray’s unique way to utilize the elemental barrier.

”He was definitely calculating the formation dome when he went to touch it.” She murmured.

Others might perceive him as rash or even outright disrespectful, but she knew very well that was just a facade.

Sure, he might appear impulsive and even villainous. It gave off the impression that he was just an easy target. And those who really thought that way, Ray made sure they paid the heavy price.

She snapped her fingers and began a cleansing magic on Ray as she tucked him into bed.

There was no way she would let Ray know she could do this because then she would be ordered to keep doing it forever.

Just when she was about to get some rest herself, someone knocked on the door outside.

”Who?” Alerted, Belva immediately expanded her perception to take a look outside.

However, she never anticipated that a backlash would occur.

Zzsst

Her eyes quickly bled a little from the spying. It was like a zap, and she reckoned that if the other party held ill intent, she would have incurred heavier injury.

’This person isn’t simple.’ Belva tried to activate the security alarm rune that was engineered and placed in every student’s dorm.

”I wouldn’t do that if I were you.”

A voice suddenly came from behind when she was close to activating it.

’Not good!’ Belva quickly widened the gap between herself and the unknown intruder.

Due to her sudden retreat, the rune also glowed slightly before returning to its dormant state.

Since there was no intense mana wavelength or ripple, the automatic activation of the rune didn’t get triggered.

This made it apparent to Belva that the intruder wasn’t someone new.

To prevent students from abusing the security alarm or letting it be known to hostile people, the security alarm was only made known to a select few students.

”Who are you?” Belva got into her fighting stance and asked.

Despite this, she was already circulating her mana, hoping that it would be enough to trigger the automatic activation.

”You’re still as quick-witted as ever.” The intruder mused when they detected her intention.

SNAP!

Suddenly, they snapped their fingers, and all the mana that was within Belva seemed to be locked.

’An Eighth Circle Silence Spell?!!’ Belva was alarmed by the move.

She took a subtle glance at the sleeping Ray and then at the intruder.

”You did this?” She asked suspiciously.
