Villain Extra: Rogue Reader

Samantha’s face burned in redness from a mix of embarrassment and humiliation. She had been starving for a long time already.

To compensate for the lack of food consumption, she had to use mana.

But then her mana also drained rapidly when she had to demonstrate her power against Ray.

Of course, she ended up wasting a bunch of mana and even lost the bet, resulting in her being more depleted.

She couldn’t even purchase some bread because Ray dragged her directly to the registration and into the express line.

By the time they split up, Samantha could only try to gain the Professor’s favor first. Time was of the essence, so she needed to give a good impression to them to have an easier academic life.

That was how she ended up carrying a load of boxes.

However, her mana reserve was extremely low by then, and so she couldn’t use mana to activate her perception to scan the surroundings.

In the end, she caused another mess and got scolded harshly by Ray ruthlessly, with her embarrassing moment completely exposed.

So broke that you starved yourself!

That was the comment Ray had given her, and a new nickname called Broke Sam.

’I don’t want such a nickname!’ Samantha cried inwardly and wanted to lash out, but she got no mana to fight back whatsoever. Not to mention, there was his maid standing close by.

And for some reason, she had a feeling that the maid was trying to compare or compete with her, which was quite weird and awkward.

’She looks old, so what is there to compare or compete with me? Her old age versus my young age?’ Samantha didn’t dare to voice her thoughts aloud, lest she might really be thrashed like those three students who got sent to the infirmary.

”Phew, where is that good cafeteria at?” Ray asked. After much running, he was also starting to starve.

”It’s this way.” Belva pointed in a direction and began to guide them.

...

By the time they arrived at the second cafeteria spot, the place was spacious and sparkling clean.

There were a few students, but their uniforms had something extra in them.

While Ray was inspecting the cafeteria, someone approached them.

”This is a cafeteria reserved for second years and up, who also earned enough credits to be eligible to dine here.”

They had a one-star emblem attached to their left chest, their face somewhat prideful and boastful.

’Is this a face-slapping time?’ Ray quickly thought to himself.

Just when he was about to use this person as a farming simulator, another voice echoed.

”Leave it. The semester hadn’t officially started, so that rule doesn’t apply yet. For them to find this spot anyway proves they got some luck.”

The one-star emblem student simply clicked their tongue and left them alone.

’Eh, you’re leaving just like that? My free points!’ Ray was dumbfounded and felt like he had just been robbed of his tool.

Who in the world meddled like this?

’Ah, right, I’m not the protagonist. Only the protagonist would dumb down other characters and have them escalate every tiny little detail.’ He quickly figured out why he wouldn’t get a face-slapping event.

All those events were funneled into William.

Oh, how envious was he?

Imagine being able to constantly slap people in the face and then getting stronger through that?

He soon found an empty spot to take a seat. Once he sat down, the same person who told the other student to step down introduced themselves.

”I’m in my second year, George. What is your name?” George, a second-year student with a three-star emblem attached to his left chest, asked.

”Your Father.” Ray flatly replied. He hoped this kind of response could gain him at least 1 Villain Point, but to no avail.

George simply chuckled and explained, ”My Father is quite old and wouldn’t be in the academy.”

”Then you can acknowledge me as your second Father.”

”Hmm, what are the merits there?”

”You get to be ordered around and not be bored.”

George suddenly narrowed his eyes when he heard the last phrase.

’Not be bored, huh.’ George was curious.

He was positive he didn’t show a bored face whatsoever on the surface.

So how did this newcomer know he was bored?

”Are you curious how I know you’re bored?” Ray mused and pressed on. ”Acknowledge me as your second Father, and I shall tell you.”

One might be offended by those statements, but George simply found them amusing. Not even those in the third year would talk to him so casually or even joke like this.

In fact, he never expected a new first year would have such courage.

”I have no interest in having more Father, but I don’t mind calling you Senior if you can defeat me.” George offered a change of condition.

”Oh, defeat you in what? Don’t say combat because that’s just ridiculous. I won’t be for real unless it’s a life and death battle.” Ray smirked coldly and stared at him.

’Three Star Second Year George... highly talented in both long and close combat. The intelligence quotient of 175 and a tough rival of William during his academy life.’ Ray recognized them on the spot because there was only one Three Star emblem in the second year.

The star emblem was essentially a medallion awarding highly meritable students during their academic life.

The most one could earn in the second year should have been two stars, with each star corresponding to one semester.

However, there were bound to be exceptions when a student outperformed and did exceptionally well to be granted an additional star.

That was George Windall, otherwise known as the boss in the third Chapter.

”We can play a round of chess if you don’t prefer violence,” George suggested and snapped his fingers. Soon, a magic chessboard appeared on the table.

The classic 16 chess pieces, which consisted of 1 King, 1 Queen, 2 Rooks, 2 Bishops, 2 Knights, and 8 Pawns, were on full display.

”Haha, you really chose the wrong game. I am the best at it!” Ray laughed wickedly.
